😐 Overall really good experience. We tried traditional royal thali, menu items can be explored on zomato. They serve different delicious rajsthani dishes, but very few. I would not say it's worth the amount what they charge, you may get many better options if you really want to try traditional rajstha... People often mention good, Rajasthani, traditional, thali, experience, visit, Udaipur, taste, dishes, staff,

Overall really good experience. We tried traditional royal thali, menu items can be explored on zomato. They serve different delicious rajsthani dishes, but very few. I would not say it's worth the amount what they charge, you may get many better options if you really want to try traditional rajsthani food. It's just worth to visit once if you're on Udaipur trip. But I liked the ambience and the vibes of the place. They have traditional musical and folk dance performance everyday, it was really superb and entertaining, I would say paisa-wasool. Last but not the least, the host was very welcoming!

Traditional Rajasthani food served with utmost respect and love. They surely make you feel that you are guests and not customers. Local artists played some music and presented a dance.

Oh, what do I say about this place! What you get here is not just good food, you get here an experience!! They only serve unlimited thalis, and no a-la-carte. But trust me, you do not want to miss this. They have a wide variety of food items in the unlimited menu and all of them are super delicious and seem super authentic. They start you off with some welcome drink- rose water- of which I just couldn’t get enough!! They have varieties from all around the state and not just the local delicacies. What makes it better is that their trained staff will suggest you how to eat what’s being served in your plate- they will suggest you the combinations to try so that you could make the best of your experience. They also give you a few details about how which dish is prepared- that’s some interesting trivia about the food you eat! The seating arrangement, I feel could have been better. The sofas were slightly on the harder side and were a little far from the table which also were a little low.

Lovely place. Must try. Good food great ambiance. For someone who has no ethnic and traditional food knowledge of this culture, they will guide you through it. They ll tell you how to eat. Pretty amazing. Little pricy but worth it. After 8pm they have traditional dance n folk song program too. U can join the dance as well.

THIS IS AN EXPERIENCE! If you're in Udaipur and you've missed out on dining here then you've missed out on one of the most wonderful gastronomic experiences you will have. There is no menu, just a course wise service of traditional Rajasthani dishes. They start you off with Papad and Chutneys, then all the sunbzis and dal, followed by Rajasthani Poori, then Daal Baati, then Pulao, then Jowahar, and finally Moong Dal Halwa. All this while being served one of the best tasting chaanch I've ever had. I possibly can't give the experience and the food served enough credit in this short review but post meal, be ready for a food coma! This is one place no one should miss out on! Complete veg restaurant!

Must visit place. Amazing traditional Rajasthani food and amazing service. All waiters are so polite and humble and they teach you how to eat and with what to eat different dishes. They also tell you name of dishes before putting in your plate. The owner is so humble and joly. Great place and food.

If you want to taste authentic Rajasthani vegetarian food in Udaipur this is the place to come. For a South Indian, the food was a little too rich (too much ghee). But the restaurant can serve a Vegan option if you ask.

When in Udaipur, a restaurant must be visited is Traditional Khana Restaurant. Highly competent, cordial, and practical service. Food is so amazing that I am at a loss for words. Ambience & taste gets a 5+. They made sure to help us choose the food combinations so that we may try everything that was offered to us. The staff even went so far as to explain what it is and how it is made. Last but not least, as soon as they noticed that plates were getting empty, they began to serve food while grinning and making welcoming gestures.

We visited this place for lunch. The food and ambiance is great. They serve food in plates made of leaves which was the traditional way of serving. The staff will navigate your way through dishes and how you can enjoy food with accompanying condiments if you are new to Rajasthani food and dishes.

This restaurant serves traditional Rajasthani food in the unlimited pay-per-person thali format. They have two thali variants to choose from. You cannot, however, order individual dishes a-la-carte. Our thali came with an array of chutneys, a dal, gatte ke sabzi, Rajasthani kadhi, dal baati, a corn dumpling, lentil fritters, a couple different types of pickles, yellow rice, buttermilk, and a sweet ladoo. Everything tasted delicious and was extremely rich, particularly the dal baati, which was soaked in ghee and then drizzled with more ghee on our plate. The servers were very friendly and hospitable, happy to explain what foods to eat together and how, as they served. They did not, however, give us spoons, in an effort to keep the experience authentic. I’m sure they would have provided them if we had insisted.

If you simply wish to experience a Rajasthani thali, go here. At 8:30pm on a Wed, no one else was there, the owner looks lazy and furniture grand but faded, but the staff, musicians and dancers were wonderful!!! Just order the royal thali and everything is served immediately. The main waiter instructed us how to eat it and all items were delicious. The entertainment was enthusiastic and even asked if we had any requests.

Stopped by this place for a traditional Rajasthani spread, as suggested by our homestay owner. Man, we were in for a surprise. Such a delicious lunch. Full of authentic Rajasthani dishes, served with so much love and attention. The waiters kept asking for yet another dallop of ghee inspite of protests of being full and another serving of Daal Baati, felt like being fed by moms and grandparents at home haha. Even the order of serving the items on the thali and the sequence to be had, what goes well with what was explained in detail. It felt more like an experience than just plain lunch. Must visit, if in Udaipur.

I just loved this place. Royal Rajasthani thali.. what an authentic taste. Everything tasted good. The warm welcoming gesture of staff and restaurant owner was the cherry on the cake. Royal thali costs 800 and another one is of 600. We had royal thali.. one can go with 600 rps thali also. They also have cultural dance programme to entertain people and make them feel the Rajasthani culture. We visited this restaurant in weekdays so it was not crowded, scene must be different on weekends. Definitely a must try place.

If you like eating traditional food this is a must visit place in Udaipur. They have a thali system containing pakodas, dal bati, ker sangri, etc. It's delicious and they also help you to understand the way of eating it one by one. They make sure thatvyou almost try everything on plate with apt and guide full mehman nawazi...

The food is amazing, went there with my wife on our Udaipur trip. A must go place. However, the ambience could be a bit better, apart from that, the staff and the food is just fab. They also organise a traditional dance performance, loved it. A Must Go.

An interesting place to visit, once. If in Udaipur, then a meal can be dedicated to this old man, who will undoubtedly make you feel happy and yes shall definitely make you feel good about the Ghee he makes (which is good too) In a single line i can say... We had a sumptuous meal, in the Rajasthani style. I can go on writing the experience and make the review long as i can, but the beauty is in having a first hand experience. P>S yes the thali is costly, 600+ so be prepared accordingly, its your judgment then to derive the value.

The owner is really good in his communication and marketing skills though he doesn’t have the need to sell but he loves what he does The food is prepared in traditional style that is slow cooking and we liked the overall ambience and vibe of the place The way the waiters served in Rajasthani style was something we liked and had a good conversation with the owner and his son

Awesome Dining Experience.... Traditional Cooking at it's best.... Almost all Dal's and Veggies slow cooked the with Ghee Tadka to impart a velvety texture and taste. Great to meet and catch up with the owner.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Expected something exceptionally good especially when the prices are exceptionally high. We waited eagerly but to get surprised only when the Thali was served. It definitely lags behind Qualitatively & Quantitatively (less no. of items with half filled bowls) comparing to other lesser known places. Though the food was bland & curries were watered-down yet we asked for another serve of dal. However none of the waiters turned up instead of calling them several times, repetitively. This is something contradictory to what they say i.e. UNLIMITED servings. Later, by the time someone came we had finished our dinner. Also, they don't serve roti; roti especially Bajre Ki Roti with ghee is an indispensable part of a Rajasthani thali. How can you replace it with some oil soaked Puri. Importantly "the attitude of people is immensely unwelcoming and our experience terrifically disappointing". What a waste of time, money and above everything "MOOD". This place may be good for the urban hordes coming from big metro cities who have no or very little idea about what a traditional Rajasthani thali looks like. However, there are better place available around. I DON'T RECOMMEND!

I come from a place(marwar) where, Dal-Bati is just like another daily meal, yet I wanted to try our traditional dish in Udaipur, my friend recommended this place(also 5/5 rating on zomato) and I was amazed to taste the delicious offerings from this restaurant. I haven't yet tasted any "Thali" or any cuisine like this. I still cherish the experience enjoyed by me at this place. Also the owner is a very hospitable person. The restaurant is based on one single agenda, that is, to give people the best taste of traditional rajasthani dish and they have succeeded.

Overpriced fir what they offer. They prefer to serve you THALI only, and if u (the customer) are not OK with Thali, then u r of least priority to them (the staff).

Excellent hospitality very good taste. Price is slightly on higher side. Thali is most famous and contains a lot of variety, authentic cuisines prepared in most traditional way. So if you are planing to visit go with some space in belly and time to spend.
