Had a wonderful experience in Ahar Museum ! It showcases the iron age bronze age and other ancient ages of human civilization which teaches a lot about how our ancient ancestors or people of Ahar civilization used to live .. tools potteries jewels and many more are displayed there.. as of now the tickets for Indian tourists is @Rs.30 per person...and for foreign tourists it's @Rs.100 per person. ⭐⭐ And also there is a beautiful place just near this museum that you guys can visit just ask the guard about it ... Its ancient ruins of Ahar civilization which have so many shiv temples in an area and i have enclosed some photographs of the place.. wonderful it is ✨⭐⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨⭐✨

The Ahar Cenotaphs are a group of cenotaphs located around 2-3km away from main city of Udaipur. The place contains more than 250 cenotaphs of the Maharanas of Mewar. This place is not well maintained by the Government. It is not that famous tourism spot in Udaipur. There was no other tourists. There are beautiful small temples with traditional Rajasthani domes and a very traditional designed pool. The temples are curated and curved with intricate and artistic designs. I loved the environment and the beauty of these cenotaphs. There are no entry fees but we gave the guard some money as he explained us the details. A must visit place and should be promoted as a Tourist destination. Parking is available so you can spend some quality time here. As a visitor, it's our responsibility to keep the surrounding clean and garbage free. I

It's the Best Place... The Diet Museum is adjacent to the impressive group of monuments of the Maharanas of Mewar... The museum has a small, but rare collection of pottery. You can also browse sculptures and archaeological finds... The 10th-century metal statue of Buddha is a special attraction here...

Visited Dec 2023. Surprisingly a well maintained museum. Very few visitors. Worth a visit. Nominal entry fee. Hard to believe a civilisation existed near Udaipur more than 2000 years ago.

If you have interest in History , must visit this place. This archeological museum is a repository of antiques, sculptures and artifacts. Coins, earthen pots, terracotta toys, stone weights, animals’ figures, balls and iron objects are also found inside the museum. The metal statue of Lord Buddha and image of God Surya are amongst the most notable exhibits here. Some of these exhibits are as old as 5000 years, belongs to copper edge civilization.

One of the most underrated placed which I felt when I visited the AHAR CENOTAPH in Udaipur !! When I visited here - listen to this now ~ there was an old guard sitting on one of the temple here and I took one Complete half round of the place !! There was no one here ! I found the gate the I parked my activa here ! Entered here in the parallel arena ! I saw beautiful small temples with traditional Rajasthani DOMES !! But they all were not properly taken care there was two pool type place one was small but with Ek ling ji temple near by and another one was big both were having big catfish and orange fishes !! I my opinion these places must be renovated cleaned painted taken care they will definitely be alive again !! Beautifully designed temples must visit place !!

Photography is prohibited but you can click by mobile. This is a place of history. The royal families members perform their last rituals after death there. All the great rulers of udaipur can be seen there. Please respect that place. The caretakers are great with good insight about that place and about the fact why photography is not allowed there

One of the less known jewels at Udaipur, Ahar cenotaph is a gem in itself, having imbibed the history of the royal clan. The royal crematorium was exclusive for the royal blood, and contains mausoleums of generations, each sized as per the stature. Currently being restored, this is a private property, still owned by the royal family.

(Translated by Google) The Archaeological Museum has been set up by the Department of Archeology and Museums for the purpose of displaying the antiquities obtained from excavation in the ancient terraces of the dhulkot located in the museum premises to the public. These ancient mounds of Dhulkot were first noticed by Colonel James Tod and he has also described it in his book Annals and Antiquities of Rajasthan. After Colonel James Tad, the archaeologist of the Department of Archeology and Museums, Dr. Akshay Kirti Vyas, first excavated these mounds on a small scale in 1950. Subsequently, in 1952 -53 and 1954 -55, Dr. RC Agarwal excavated here and after that, Dr. Hansmukh Dhirajlal Sankalia, a joint aegis of Archaeological and Museum Department and Deccan University Poona, did excavation work here. According to the facts which came out as a result of all the above excavations, there are many signs of settling and desolation here. These mounds have pressed many layers of time in themselves. Dr. Sankalia gave it the name of Ahad culture due to the distinctive black and red pottery obtained from here. Remains of two major cultures, copper stone culture and historical carpet culture are found here. The lower level remains belong to Ahad culture. And the upper level is later. According to Dr. Shri Krishna, so far this five levels have been excavated and almost the same is expected to be achieved. The Ahar culture was developed mainly on the banks of the Gomti and Ayad river, which is called Bedach River after Udayasagar and is included in Banas river near Bingod. So far, more than a hundred places related to Ahar culture have been identified. Some of its sites are located in Udaipur, Dungarpur, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Bundi, Kota districts Ahar, Balathal, Gillund, Ojiana, Maharaj ki Khedi, Chhatri Kheda. Based on radio carbon dates Ahar is placed from 2660 to 1280 BCE, but dates from 3700 BCE to 1800 BCE have been obtained from Balathal, so Ahad culture can be kept from 3500 BCE to 1500 BCE. Ahad culture is identified by specific types of clay utensils painted in black and white with white color, bright red, ash, milky colored, tanned polished reserved slipped utensils etc. It consists of tan polished and thin red slip The dishes were not in the initial phase, these were used in the rich phase of Ahad culture. After the Harappan civilization, only the people of Ahad civilization knew to build pucca houses. Initially it was believed that when Harappan civilization was at its peak, Ahad culture was emerging, but on the basis of the remains obtained from excavations of sites related to Ahad culture. Ahar culture is now considered contemporary to Prakara Harappa. The remains of rectangular houses are found in Ahar Balathal and Gillund. The remains of 30 x 15 ft and 9 x 9 ft and a 45 ft residence have been found in the excavation. According to Dr. Jugnu ji, the residents of Ahad culture built the walls of the house using the raw brick of clay and clay obtained from the same, and made a thin canopy with the use of bamboo mats and buffalo pudding and earthen paste, and the sixth was also in the middle and the top. The slopes were kept on the side so that the rainwater could easily come out and thus wooden poles were erected in the center of the house to keep the roof above the middle, in the middle of the floor of the remnants of the houses of Ahad, in this kind of wooden pillars Evidence of ravines is obtained for burial. The remains of chulho and grain grinding silbattas are also obtained from the said voice. The tradition of erecting earthen rings with earthen rings for dirty evacuation in the houses of Ahad's historical period, was also amazing. Impressed with the Ahad, beetroot of Ballo, beaded copper objects of clay and semi precious stones, ax, arrow, knuckle, chudia, chisel etc. have been obtained and miniature weapon, silbatta, hammer stone etc. have also been received. The type of hump and the hump have been received, in addition to this, four human deer murtia have also been obtained. From which the realization of the textile of Ahad culture and bead ornaments can be estimated to be an evolved civilization, in which the fact of having a classified society and business can be estimated. Prehistoric Era of Ayad The discoveries in this area has led us to infer that the people inhabiting this civilization were not so wealthy, they used ornaments of copper and terracotta decorated with varied incised ornamentation such as Chevrons, Row of Arcs, Zigzag Arches etc. and most remarkably such decorated beads are not known to figure in the Indus or any of the chalcolithic cultures of India. The Aharians relied upon copper and its alloys for their needs of tools and weapons as there is total absence of stone tools and weapons in the excavations, and the disco

Life, as we know it, has come to a complete standstill. The travel and tourism industry was one of the first sectors to bear the brun of this crisis. This pandemic has affected the travel in alot many ways. The travellers, specially for all of them, travelling has not only been their best source of income but a part of their life. As they fill up their blogs and social media accounts with stories and pictures of their adventure for their followers, this pandemic has brought their lives to a complete halt. Though as travellers, we've tried to experiment good things on the social media but still we've seen the followers drop even after keeping up with the content. All the plans for the year long has been cancelled and here we are, juggling with the best we can give from our end to the readers. As a travel influencer and blogger, "We want the world to heal soon so that we can continue our journey to see the world and also influence others to see it"

The gem of udaipur is ahar museum and its nearby cenotaphs.. cenotaphs are the perfect location for photoshoots but needs to be managed properly to attract tourism. The place should have information centre or some guide who can explain the tale behind this beautiful architecture. Even in the museum, no proper information was shared for the things displayed there. This place has alot of potential for tourists if maintained and managed well along with informative boards..

Beautiful place... We have our sati mata over there... There are plenty of canopies over there in same campus... They are collectively called MAHA SATIYA. It's in udaipur (Rajasthan), newly weds went there to seek blessings of their sati mata. It's a wonderful place but one thing that annoys me is that it is not properly maintained... There is no proper pavement to the canopies, whole campus has bushes infact thorny bushes. There is a gateman, but can't help with this issue.

This was a waste of time. The museum is mostly pictures of things they found, which defeats the purpose of a museum. They only have 1 small area with actual remnants and 2 rooms that randomly has guns with no explanation. There is no way to figure out where the outside pieces are. Do not recommend.

This place displays remains of old Ahar civilization. All the items are from 5000BC to 2 AD They are mesmerizing and makes you think about the ability of humans to make things without modern technology. It hardly has 5-6 rooms and will not take longer to visit.

Quite old artifacts. Small museum but very deep. Some of the sculptures are in the very good form. Must visit once. One can finish the whole museum in 10-15 min also, but one can spend more than an hour or 2, in the same space.

Ahar Museum is in close proximity to an impressive cluster of cenotaphs of the Maharanas of Mewar. The museum has a small, but rare collection of earthen pottery. You can also browse through sculptures and archaeological finds, a few dating back to 1700 BC. A 10th century metal figure of Buddha is a special attraction here

It was good in exploring ancient history, before this i have read in books about ahar , and now after this experience it felt like known, this is not the place that will excite you in entertaining way, but if you have little knowledge about you it will be a great visit, what is felt bad about this place is that there is no enough advertising about this, i mean such a beautiful place for knowledge shouldn't be avoided like this, otherwise it was beautifully maintained, low prices and clean.
