Vintage Car Museum, Udaipur, is a small vintage car museum managed by the royal family of Udaipur. They have around 20 cars, few other wagons etc., confined within a small area. Good for one time visit while visiting Udaipur. The charges (Rs. 400/-) are really high compared to the number of cars on display and the area. We were a group of 5 including a 6 year old child and we had to shell out Rs. 2000/-. If you have other things to do in Udaipur, this can be skipped. All the available cars are in the photographs associated with all the reviews.

This museum is located near the city Palace and houses many old cars in excellent condition. It is definitely a treat to see all these old cars still looking good and new. The collection of cars is quite good and you will definitely enjoy it. But the ticket cost is prohibitively high and doesn't seem to be worthy. So this is the reason why many people skip this museum. If the ticket cost is reduced then this place will get 5 stars.

Not worth INR 400/- There are less than 24 cars available now. All cars are facing straight and we can't explore much there. Can't even see the full cars/rear side. Even we can't touch them. we can only click pictures of cars in 400 rupees. Apart from this collection is good. Avoid unless you're really interested.

Place has car from 1920s to recent eras Entrance fee is 400 rs per person Car has history and lot off tales attached to it The guide gives a total understanding of each car and how and where they where used by whom. Its more a personal collection and not a museum. Its a must to visit for once with that entry fees

Its the museum of vintage cars used by the maharajas of Udaipur. The total collection has 20 cars and additionally has chariots and solar powered cycled or rickshaws etc. These cars are in running condition and used in the palace during festivals. Two cadillacs were used in escort when Queen Victoria visited India. And one Rolls Royce was used in James Bond’s moview Octopussy Entry ticket per person is 400 rupees so mind it as websites give wrong or old information. It’s worth only if you’re moto enthusiast or admire vintage beauty.

They're taking 400 rupees only for see vintage car. I think that's too much. And they have only simple restorant. And they are Advertised that u can luch or dinner background in vintage car. But not that type really. Only u can know about vintage car their.

The Collection was pretty good. Many old school car brand models were present at the museum. The ticket fare could have been lower as 400₹ per person is a bit on the higher side considering there is only 15 mins worth of things you can take a look at. But if you're a car enthusiasts like me you're going to love this space and the collection.

Love cars meet the royalties of the world, superb collection. These cares are the personal collection of the Current Maharaj. They have been well menrained and removed for talkies and exhibitions across the the country/ world. With several of the them winning awards for the upkeep of the cars. There are about 20 odd cars some carriages and a few solar concept cars. The entrance is priced at 450 for the adults and 250 for the kids.

We visited the Vintage and Classic car museum in Nov 2021. While it's expensive and many may say has very few cars, the museum makes up for the quantity with its quality. Each and every car is in ship shape and in running condition. They were shiny clean and beautifully maintained. The 1938 Phantom 2 , RSY 1 took the center spot and looked like a gem. However there are other worthy cars too like the 1924 RR Tourer which had also won many awards. The MG TC convertible and the Ford Model A are in pristine condition. We only wish we could see the cars from side too similar to the RSY 1 so that we could really appreciate the different coachwork and body styles of these cars.

Pricey for what it has to offer. Very limited collection, but with my husband being a vintage car enthusiast, we hit the place and loved the tour. One of their oldest employee kind of figured out our interest and gave a private tour telling stories and taking pictures for us, which is a little difficult as we are just 2 of us together. He also let us sit in one of the carriages. Also the map isn't very correct. do check with a local with roads under construction all over in udaipur.

Amazing experience how the Royal family used different cars for different occasion/ purposes. Each car presenting it's own history. The Solar operated cars were present in those times also. Even today, few cars are offered on high rents. All the cars are run once a month for their maintenance.

Amazing place with all the vintage car collections ranging from badass Buick, Chevy trucks, Cadillac, Rolls Royce Phantom II, MG, Vauxhall, many more and last but not the least Buggy. Special customisation for Maharaja and Maharani is a thing to watch for. Definitely a place worth seeing for car lovers. Ticket price 400 per person as it is a privately managed property like City Palace. Time needed :40-45mins. Not much crowded

If you are a lover of vintage cars then this is a place to be, from BMW, Mercedes, Chevrolet; German, US, UK made cars purchased by royal family. Here entry ticket is 400 pp which is expensive but if you are car fanatic go for it. They also have resturant at this place where you can get pure veg food at an additional cost.

Friends there are 23 vintage cars of royal family and the place where these cars are kept is turned in a vintage museum.you remember the scene of Prem ratan dhan payo movie where Niel Nitin Mukesh gifted an old vintage car to the secretary that scene was short at this musuem and the car is also available. Ticket price is costly today 6/8/22 it costs around Rs 400/- we can pay by cash and card only no UPI payment facility It has a restaurant inside the musuem it contains 2 bullock carts, many horse carts and 7-8 solar vehicles. You can request the staff over there to describe the features of the vehicle and enjoy the visit

Lovely collection of vintage cars, the entry free is 300 per person. But I liked the fact that they also provide a guide for every group. My experience was made pleasant due to the jolly and knowledgeable guide I was provided. His name was Rakesh if I'm not mistaken. Great place to visit if you love vintage cars.

Originally it is a garage of the King and is converted into museum. One can actually see very closely the cars used by the King decades ago. Although the entry fee of Rs. 400 is steep, it will be a good experience for young kids to know how the verhicles look like decades back.

The Vintage and Classic Car Museum, or Vintage & Classic Car Collection was unveiled to general public on 15 February 2000. It was inaugurated by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, founder of the National Motor Museum in England.[2] The Vintage & Classic Car Collection is a car collection and a museum, showing all the vehicles belonging to the Maharanas of Mewar both past and present. The collection is housed in the original former Mewar State Motor Garage, which currently serves as this museum. Garden Hotel and Restaurant, a property of HRH Group of Hotels, Udaipur, is also contained within the garage's grounds. The semi-circular motor garage with its forecourt is housed within a greater courtyard. It also houses one of the original Shell petrol pump, which is still assumed to be in usable condition. Despite some vehicles being over seventy years old, each one is still kept in working condition The Vintage and Classic Car Museum has around 20 antique cars, including 4 Rolls-Royce's, 2 Cadillacs, one MG-TC convertible, one Ford-A Convertible, one Vauxhall-12 and several other exhibits like solar powered rickshaws and many more.

Very nice old cars. It's kinda overpriced. 300 per head just to see 10-15 cars isn't worth it. I thought it may have at least 30+ cars according to the fee.

A must visit museum when you visit Udaipur. The vintage car collecting is mesmerising. It is a treat to the eyes. All these cars are still working. These cars were used by the king of Udaipur. They have used some of these cars in the movies too. The ticket charges are Rs.400/- for adult and Rs.250/- for children. Children will enjoy.

  • 4/5 Samir S. 1 year ago on Google
We had been here in Dec-2019 . Entry fee is 300 INR per head The cars displayed in the museum are still in perfect working condition although most of them are over seventy years old. The most popular cars in the museum available for public access are the rare Mercedes models, Rolls-Royce, 1936 Vauxhall, 1937 Opel models, and 1939 Cadillac open convertibles. Many of the luxury cars were customised according to the requirements of the Mewar family owners of the respective cars. This includes the Rolls Royce and Mercedes models. The collection has been displayed in the Palace Garage, known as theMewar State Motor Garage in a location far away from the noise and bustle of the city, which gives visitors the best kind of experience. The garage was built at the time when only the members of the royal family owned cars, and it matches the splendour of the normal lifestyle of the families. The grand 1934 Rolls-Royce Phantom was used in the James Bond filmOctopussy, and the Cadillac convertible was used to escort Queen Elizabeth to the airport back in 1961. The collection consists of 20 old-fashioned cars, which includes four Rolls-Royce’s, two Cadillacs, an MG-TC convertible, a Ford-A Convertible, a Vauxhall-12 and various other interesting vehicles like solar-powered rikshaws etc.

The car history and placement was good. About a kilometre far from the city palace. Has a great collection with cars in working conditions. There is a restaurant as well. It is a little expensive (rs. 400) for the fact that there are only about 20 cars to see and nothing else.
