Had a fabulous stay here. Compared to other lodges where we stayed for a similar price, this one was exceptional. We had been travelling for over a week by the time we got to Turaco Treetops - and I can't tell you how amazing it was to arrive at a lodge where there was a vegetarian option for dinner that wasn't just "cooked vegetables in some kind of sauce". I went 4 days in a row having curry for dinner before I came here! The food was truly delicious, with great options for vegetarians and a nice selection of wine. Considering the dinner was the same price as more budget/mid-range lodges where we stayed, and cheaper than some high-end ones, I thought it was great value and quality. We wished we could have stayed longer here, as it was the only lodge where we stayed with a pool, and that was lovely for relaxation. I'd recommend staying that extra night at the end of your trip if you can! The rooms are huge and luxurious and you can see monkeys and birds from your rooms (amazingly clean windows by the way!). The staff were great, and the hotel manager obviously makes a lot of effort to speak to each guest. If we ever do return to Uganda (never say never!) then would definitely be staying here again.

It was such a wonderful place. At Turaco, I got to switch off and be able to connect with myself. The services were amazing. The waiters and waitresses were amazing & kind. My room was a real treetop. The cool balcony, very close & intimate with nature was epic. It was my dream vacation. The food was lovely. I did 4 days there & I still wanted to stay

Spent the last part of our honeymoon in Uganda here (August 2022). Beautiful, peaceful place in a great location for Chimp Trekking in Kibale. Service was top quality and the food delicious. Would highly recommend doing a walking tour of Bigodi. Thanks

Gorgeous place - lovely room raised up with Hornbills, monkeys and more all in the gardens. Great pool and delicious food. Spent two nights with kids in family room and was really nice. Easy access to chimp walks and Bigoda wetlands as well as Kibale forest.

Location - this is a perfect place if wanting to be nestled in the forest. Quiet, peacful, and beautiful. Service - the staff was kind, welcoming, and very accomodating Rooms - This is where the hotel can improve. The beds are cheap foam mattresses (easily found throughout Uganda), and if you have trouble sleeping or a bad back, this will not be a good sleep for you. This also goes for the subpar pillows and sheets compared to nearby hotels with similar pricing and rating. The decor is minimal, which makes it simple and cleaning efficient. However, the hard cement floors need at least a couple rugs (even if it's a locally made grass rug) around the bed and the entryway; otherwise, bring slippers because it is pretty uncomfortable. There is a rack with towels by the shower but no additional hooks in the bathroom to hang wet towels or other items, which the hotel should consider adding. Additionally, there is an open closet to store your bags but only a tiny corner to hang items - a hanging rack could easily be extended across to have more room. I do think with these changes, specifically the bedding, then this hotel can charge the high prices it does otherwise, the cost per night is a little high when there are nearby hotels that exceed this comfort at a slightly lower rate.

One word: Wow!! The Turaco Treetops lodge is located directly in Kibale forest, with loads of birds and monkeys roaming around the property. The rooms are incredibly spacious and pretty, the food was delicious and the staff is extremely helpful. We can only recommend going there. Don't forget to visit KAFRED (Kibale Association For Rural and Environmental Development) in Bigodi :)

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Beautiful views and hotel design, great food and incredible service and staff. All the staff were so friendly and professional, but a special shout out to Richard - he is so knowledgable about the wildlife and very helpful during our time there. We won’t forget this place!

One of the nicest places we stayed at in Uganda and probably anywhere in the world. Beautiful architecture with food and service of the highest quality - a must do if visiting Kibale!

An absolutely stunning place to get away and hide from the business of every day life. The staff were so helpful and tentative. Food was delicious every time. I was with friends who are gluten free and dairy free and they had amazing alternative meals planned for them. My friends did the Chimp walk while I stayed and relaxed by the pool and when it rained, moved to the fireplace lounge.

Lovely quiet location ideal for Kibale and a great dining/bar area. Food was perfectly ok but probably the most basic we experienced during our trip. Staff were very nice but it can be a bit of a hike back and forth to some of the rooms...something of a theme in most the lodges we stayed. Our room was large and clean but a little on the basic side. Found the tap on the wash basin was stupidly positioned in the middle of the sink making it difficult to wash your face without soaking the surround. Both pillows way too large so had to resort to using a cushion. Pillows are dead simple: 1 big and 1 thin. Didn't see any monkeys here - possibly due to resident dog! Butterflies were great but the view from balcony was limited due to overgrown vegetation in front of room - which was disappointing. Pool was fine - did the job. Would have loved to give this a 4* rating but it just failed in too many critical areas.
