Set against the striking backdrop of Lake Kyaninga and the legendary Mountains of the Moon, Kyaninga Lodge is the epitome of luxury, romance and style in the wild heart of Africa. The lodgeโ€™s nine cottages are built on platforms, which are set apart to offer privacy and tranquillity. Each spacious cottage is beautifully appointed with a choice of twin or double beds made up with Egyptian cotton bedlinen and soft feather pillows. Cottages boast stylishly rustic furniture, a private deck and an elegant bathroom with a marble countertop basin, a claw-footed freestanding bath, and a glass-walled shower. Once inside, the lodge offers comfortable seating areas around an arresting double-sided, open fireplace, and two raised galleries boast intimate spaces for those wishing to absorb the evocative landscape in a more private setting.

Kyaninga Lodge is an absolute gem nestled in the beautiful Ugandan wilderness in FortPortal. From the moment you arrive, you'll be captivated by the stunning surroundings and warm hospitality. The lodge itself is a masterpiece of architecture, seamlessly blending luxury with nature. The individual cottages offer breathtaking views of Lake Kyaninga and the Rwenzori Mountains. Each cottage is exquisitely designed and provides all the modern comforts you could desire. The staff here goes above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. They are attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. Dining at the lodge is a culinary delight, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a menu that caters to a variety of tastes. For nature enthusiasts, there are guided hikes, birdwatching, and boat trips available, allowing you to immerse yourself in the natural wonders of the area. The Kyaninga Nature Walk is a must-do, offering the chance to explore the lush forest surrounding the lodge. Whether you're looking for a romantic getaway, a wildlife adventure, or simply a place to unwind, Kyaninga Lodge is the perfect choice. It's a haven of tranquility, and I can't recommend it enough. Your stay will be nothing short of magical. Thanks ๐Ÿ™ to the Kyaninga Lodge team.

We went to use the pool as day visitors and have a few beers. It was a delightful few hours. The view over the lake is stunning, the pool was clean and fresh, and the beers were the best weโ€™ve had in all of east Africa over 6 months travelling. Huge thanks to the kind and helpful staff there!

The location is incredible and the views sensational. My favourite time of day is early morning when the mist rises from the lake. Wow! On this trip I checked out the new spa with his and her massage rooms, small sauna and mini-gym, adjacent to the new seating area below the swimming pool. It's always good to see new features being added to a 'tried and tested' favourite lodge. On my visit, the owner Steve explained how they are upgrading some of the rooms and have recently renovated some of the exteriors. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and courteous. #diaryofamuzungu

Slightly difficult to get to, but WELL worth it ... the lodge is amazing ... the view overlooking the lake with the mountains in the background is breathtaking ... the staff goes out of their way ... the chef made some incredible food. Seriously, every meal not only had the presentation but an incredible taste to match ... Not only that, but everything about this place gives back to the local community ... I can't say enough, just a perfect experience

Wow, this place was amazing. The staff are all so friendly and the rooms are unique with high ceilings and incredible views! We really enjoyed the food and the long walk around the lake. The water in the lake was also very clean and surprisingly warm. We hope to be back soon and will recommend to our friends and family!

An excellent eco lodge on the Fort Portal area. Located in a crater lake area and made out of natural materials , the 10 cottages are a beholding sight and all connected via aerial columns of wooden stairs and pathways. I most enjoyed the crater and ruwenzori mountain ranges view, nature walk and hiking. Last but not least, the lodge has the best chef in Uganda who makes you yearn for the next meal time . The lodge has an education hub for CSR. Wonderful place round.

True to it's name, "Kyaninga" spoils you with idyllic views and tranquil thoughts. Nestled at the top of a crater lake; with the mighty Rwenzori rising from the ground; gazing menancingly behind the morning fog. Kyaninga is nature's poetry, unmatched in beauty and awe!

We came all the way from Fort Portal to have supper and some drinks and check the location for our visitation but the manager couldnt even allow us to enter and told us to book an appointment and come the next day. I mean what kind of customer service is that. Very disappointed. Uganda is a very welcoming country with great care and good hearts - but Kyanina Lode is not one of them. So if you want to visit make sure you have an appointment or save your gas money and time to come this way. I do not recommed. Fort Portal has so much more to offer. Welcoming and friendly.

Heaven on earth. I called to make my reservations and all details were taken very clearly. There are sign posts along the way to guide you on how to reach the place. We got a very warm reception and we're well ushered into the space. We were given a quick over view of the place to help us settle in and know how to go about the place. The entire setting is out of this world , the view of lake Kyaninga just blew me away . The meals were well presented a were very tasty. The client care is great d staff are very warm and friendly The rooms are professionally set up to serve you with the comfort you look for in a vacation place. The beds are the most comfortable of all Eco lodges I he been to. The rooms smell fresh and are cleaned to detail, I could comfortably sink into that bath tub.

What an amazing lodge located on the crater lake of Kyaninga! A crystal clear crater lake that is still semi-active so the water stays at 24 degrees celsius. Going to this lodge was worth it just for the lake itself but it doesnโ€™t stop there. The entire lodge boasts of amazing elgon olive furniture, window seals, and door frames as well as the structure made from local eucalyptus. Door handles that looked hand crafted by black smiths. Just the splendor of the architecture would bring me back here. Upon arrival Carlos greeted our group with a warm welcome served with fresh watermelon juice. The deep tissue massage was a real deep tissue with an experienced masseuse. The pool is nice and chilly, refreshing to the muscles. All the food was amazing, 2 and 3 course meals with the staff always being available when needed. They had an awesome selection in there small library with books describing lots of Ugandan history. I hope to return one day! Mukama akuwe omukisa

Nice exclusive place. But service needs to be improved at the gate entrance. Just remember to reserve before you go, they can deny entrance if you don't have any reservations.

Good lodge with very good views, but rooms are on very high steps. May not be fit for the young children and the very old.

This Lodge is a bit out of the way, but completely worth the drive. Spend a day here swimming in the incredibly beautiful lake, visiting their adorable dairy, enjoying the very creative and fresh meals, and drinking in the spectacular setting.

Been to a lot of boutique hotels in the world and this one ranks in the 1%. The crater lake is the perfect place to swim or just relax and watch after a long day of hiking through forest looking at chimps
