Calling all birders and ecologists! They have at least 20 bird species, all on the grounds (trees, flowers and lawn) and the staff was very knowledgeable about the species if you ask- Especially Godfrey, who studied ecology and tourism in school, and is very friendly and welcoming. Overall, this was an amazing space to stay. They grow most of the food you will get with meals ON SITE- which has a nice ecotourism aspect as well as deliciousness! Therefore, we definitely recommend doing full or half board here. The views are spectacular and staff is accommodating (Thank you Nicholas). Very convenient drive away from Rest in bananas (distillery) and where you Chimp Trek in Kampala

Had a tasty buffet lunch today, Sunday, with a group of tour operators visiting from Kenya. They all loved the views. Thank you Nicholas (one of the owners) for showing us the self-contained cottages. The bathrooms are large and the stone-decorated showers huge. The bedrooms are colourful and cozy. Chimpanzee Forest Lodge (formerly known as Chimpanzee Guest House) is a popular Ugandan-owned family business that has been in operation since 2004. The gardens are beautifully looked after and full of birds. Grounds look out to Kibale Forest on one side, a small lake in one direction. Beneath them lies a tea plantation. In the other direction you can sometimes see the Rwenzori Mountains. This is a good base for chimpanzee tracking and five minutes from Isunga / Rweteera and approx 20 minutes from Kanyanchu. It's on the main road from Fort Portal. #diaryofamuzungu #EastAfricaTravelDirectory

What's not to love? Beautiful scenery, and sweet cottages. We visited a bunch of places for our Xmas holiday and this place topped them all- mind you all the places we visited were great! Stuff goes above and beyond, tones of space for kids to run, food was awesome- their chef doesn't play πŸ˜†. Thanks for hosting us!

What a fabulous place! The location is just magnificent, with views over the surrounding lakes and tea plantations. The staff and manager, Nicholas, took a god care of us and shared many stories about life in Uganda. The local diner was delicious. We will come back!

This was my favourite lodge on our trip. I wish we stayed longer than a night. The huts are spacious and comfortable. There are mosquito nets. The garden is beautifully kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can book a nature walk with a guide for 15 USD pp. The tour takes you to the volcanic lakes and around the community, we saw a few monkeys on the way. We enjoyed the food. If you are vegan, don’t worry, the chef even presented us with different options to choose from. The portions are huge as always in Uganda.

Nice location but very slow service. We scheduled for breakfast at 5 am so we could go get the green-breasted pitta. It is 5:34 now and I can still hear the eggs being scrambled

The garden, the ambiente and surroundings are simply breathtaking. Our hut was huge, sparkling clean and had great views. It was the room with the highest standard and best bathroom on our trip in Uganda. The Restaurant is good and has a nice bar to hang out attached to it.... we would have loved to stay longer...

This place is serene as it is beautiful, the amazing thing about it is the friendly and genuine staff! It feels very homely! If you love birds then you must come here! It has very many swallows dashing by in the grass and many other kinds singing throughout the day!
