After the hustle and bustle of Kampala, it was a refreshing moment to visit Amabeere Caves. From the friendly and welcoming staff to my all-patient guide Patrick who made sure my tour was captured both on camera and at heart. The hospitality was top-notch and thank you Michael for reminding me of my mother country 😊. All in all the waterfall was breathtaking, the caves intriguing and the hike up the hill awarded me with a spectacular view of the area and crater lake. Definitely, a good place to connect with nature and unwind.

It's breathtakingly beautiful. The forest and cave walks are amazing and the hill climbing is tasking but very rewarding... The staff are friendly and we had a sweet guide who took time off to take out photos on the trail.

Was a lovely visit with great guides. Was disappointed that we couldn’t visit the crater lake another place here because it’s abit far and we can only walk their. The place should have an option for quick transport for those who cannot walk their.

Stalagmites and stalactites were just beautiful, not to mention the waterfall and the trek to view 3 crater lakes atop the mountain. A good camping destination for sure.

Had good time there. Was able to see what nature can offer to us if we do not destruct our environment. Let us preserve these features for generations to come. Asante.

I love this place because of the many natural features it's endowed with; the forest, monkeys, birds, bees etc, the mountain scenary, the caves ( you can sleep in the cave, self contained with children bedroom 😊), the 3 craters and most especially the waterfalls, I fell in love 💕

I enjoyed the scenary and the refreshing of the water fall. The history of the stalagmites was renewing especially after many years since the study period.

The caves are inside an overhanging hard rock. A river of ice-cold water flows from Rwenzori Mountains to create a roaring waterfall about 20 metres from the caves. The rock offers an opportunity for visitors to walk under the waterfall and take photos. It is spectacular. Visitors can see the growth of stalc6tites and stalagmites. Tour guides in the place give a very good legend of Bukuku, Isaza and Nyinamwiru. It is a must-visit

  • 5/5 Bob H. 1 year ago on Google

Are you planning a trip to Fort Portal? Then Amabere ganyinamwiru should be on tourist sites to visit. This stunning geological formations in a cave with falls on top are amazing, the guide who guided us there told according to the local legend, the stalactites are actually the breasts of a princess who was locked away in the cave by her father, a powerful king. The princess was known for her beauty and intelligence, and the king was afraid that she would be married to another king and used to overthrow him. He decided to lock her away, and cut off her breasts in an attempt to make her less attractive to potential suitors. However, the princess' breasts were transformed into the stalactites, and her milk continued to flow from them and while here should not miss the hike to the hills in the back as they give a great view of the crater lakes and the surrounding.
