I
did
my
Gorilla
trekking
in
Rushaga,
but
was
the
encouraged
to
trek
another
day
for
the
Golden
Monkeys,
which
are
located
here.
I
have
a
heart/lung
issue,
which
makes
climbing
(even
steps)
difficult.
When
I
did
the
gorilla
trekking,
my
guide
communicated
this
to
the
organizers,
and
I
was
put
in
a
group
with
older
couples.
It
was
perfect
because
we
could
go
at
a
nice,
slow,
steady
pace
and
take
breaks.
Unfortunately
there
are
only
2
groups
of
Golden
Monkeys
in
Mgahinga,
only
one
group
is
habituated.
So
wherever
the
monkeys
are,
you
have
to
get
there
too
-
there's
no
opting
for
a
closer
family.
I
definitely
felt
like
I
was
going
to
die
the
entire
trip
up
the
mountain,
and
felt
awful
that
I
was
slowing
others
down,
where
as
I
was
not
the
day
before
with
the
gorillas.
Having
said
that,
the
Golden
Monkeys
are
a
ton
of
fun
to
see
once
you
get
there.
Very
playful
and
bouncing
from
tree
to
tree.
A
little
hard
to
get
pictures
because
of
this,
but
was
still
fun
to
watch.
If
you're
in
good
shape
without
health
problems,
I'm
sure
this
would
be
easier
for
you.
They
also
offer
other
tours
besides
the
golden
monkeys.
You
can
climb
to
the
top
of
one
of
the
volcano
mountains,
walk
a
pygmy
trail,
gloria
trek,
etc.
