Place is amazing, old colonial feel with affordability for a regular Joe. Spotless Clean, attention to detail, amazing service. Such a beautiful well run place. A hidden jewel. Highly recommend!!!!!

Travelled with a large group, MB was very relaxing with large green gardens and comfy rooms, hot water, good amenities and staff who care. Thumbs up!

The energy of this place feels very positive, and that's mostly due to the beautiful location and the hostess (May) who's primary goal is to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Highly recommended!

It's so cool and has a fresh air

The negatives: * we had our laundry done, of which 3 tshirts came back with black stains (which weren´t there before), 1 pair of socks changed from greenish grey to orange and multiple items had damaged fabric or were stretched so they dont fit anymore from washing them very roughly (1 top, 1 bra, 3 pairs of underpants). After telling the staff, they would only agree to refund 2 of the total 10 dollars. The value of the ruined clothes exceeds 100 dollars... *the walls of the rooms are made of wooden planks, and it´s easy to look into neighbouring rooms. *our room was less than 5m from the road, with a lot of LOUD traffic passing by at night and in the morning. This can´t be resolved, but it was a bit unpleasant. *the pool is 5 dollars, but the poolwater is milky/cloudy. This indicates that the pool water is improperly maintained (for example too much chlorine, which can cause skin irritation). I decided not to swim, because it seemed unsafe. The positive *the toilets and showers were clean and there was hot water and soap. The towels were soft. *breakfast was good and the kitchen staff was very friendly. *the room was pretty and clean. The bedding was clean and comfortable. We would not recommend having your laundry done here and sleep elsewhere if you´re a light sleeper or are uncomfortable with other people possibly watching you through the cracks in the walls.

Nice hostel with a resort next door, so you can use the facilities like the pool and restaurant. Easy to arrange tours, credit card is accepted. I took the 2-day safari option, which included a sunset game drive, sunrise game drive, boat trip on the Nile river and a hike to the falls. Impressive views, I saw so many different animals: giraffes, antelopes, a lioness, birds, hippos, elephants, baboons, buffalos, warthogs. Entire tour was organized very smoothly. The guides were knowledgeable and willing to find animals! Totally recommended.

Fantastic backpackers in the middle of Uganda. Brand new rooms, clean facilities and friendly staff. Great camping area too. Better setup than most Australian places. Highly recommended.

Where can I start? Murchison Backpackers has been by far the best guesthouse I've been in Uganda , not only for its cozy and super comfortable beds and hot shower, but also for how much they took care of me. I felt at home! Thank you so much for everything May, I would definitely repeat!! Please notice: if you're looking for delicious breakfast and great tours in Murchison Falls, this is your place:)

May is an excellent host, very attentive, speaks really good english, helpful and friendly with a very good team of staff. We were lucky that we're the only couple in the seperate building, which had 3 bedrooms, a spacious lounge, 2 bathrooms, kitchencorner and pool table outside. Wifi incl, not v fast but ok. Bed's firm, room quiet and clean. Big, quiet garden area, away from main road/busy rd. Breakfast gets served at whatever time you arrange it with May and includes eggs, sausages, toast, cornflakes, different spreads, coffee, tea, fruit. They make sure you feel comfortable and welcome. Left the place rested and happy.

Really liked it here. Would recommend to all those visiting Murchison Falls or just traveling through Masindi. Also great for an early morning workout or yoga in the gardens.

Did not stay (but would have if I had time). But host was amazing. Gave me free wifi and would not take money when I tried. Definitely friendly atmosphere!
