Hands down the best luxury resort I visited in Uganda. All the staff were super friendly, most welcoming and attending to our every need. Nik the general manager is fantastic! And the chef is incredible! Thank you for giving us the best service. The rooms were spacious and beautifully designed.

This review has been long due. First the good side. The rooms are really nice, great shower so no complaints on that front. Service and food wise it is disappointing when you compare it to lodges in South Africa or Namibia, in the same price range The manager tells you a marketing story (to go the extra mile, you know the drill) but does not really engage with the guests. No complaints on the rest of the staff I must say. You have to call the room service on a talkie, but half of the time there was no response. If they answer they send somebody up to the room (this can take a while) to take you order. Not sure why they can't just take your order on the talkie. But the biggest disappointment is the food, it's basically always the same with not a lot of variety. We were there to celebrate New Years Eve. It was the same menu as the days before. No champagne (or something else) or appetizers were offered. It was just another day at the office. Is this being picky? Probably, but when you pay this amount you can expect top notch service and food. We had better food and service in Uganda for 1/5th of the price we paid here. This place is just not worth the price.

Everything about this camp is extraordinary. The setting, the friendly staff, the spacious and comfortable tents, the massage after the gorilla hike.. Flawless. The location is unbeatable, right inside Biwindy National Park.

What an amazing location. It's one of two camps located inside the Bwindi Forest National Park, which makes this a coveted place to stay as it's only a 2 minute walk to the base entrance for gorilla trekking. Manager Nicolas and team were super friendly and welcomed us warmly. We were on our honeymoon and they surprised us with a bottle of rose when we arrived. Gordon was our driver from the Kihihi airstrip to Sanctuary Camp and was extremely knowledgeable about the culture of Ugandans in Bwindi along with the indigenous people of the forest there, the Batwa. The camp also offers very affordable massages that we took advantage of and Precious was amazing - highly recommended after a long day of strenuous trekking in the forest. The food, while great, did leave something to be desired. A bit on the plain side but I'm sure over time it will get refined. If you're looking for the best accommodation to stay at for gorilla trekking, look no further!

Location, location, location is almost everything. Camp is situated inside the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest so if you are going gorilla trekking and can afford it, the convenience trumps it all. The rooms were comfortable, with heated blankets being a great surprise. Love having a tub in its own room. Food could be improved, bread was close to lead consistency. But the chef made a me a special Ugandan national dish upon request for which I am quite grateful. Butler service was impecable and laundry included a big plus.

All round excellent lodge. Food excellent, service perfect, rooms comfortable with charging points, excellent facilities. Staff was on top of our itinerary and logistics at all times, and a short walk to the visitor centre before starting gorilla walks

Great view from room, food was delicious and the staff was amazing and very helpful. Special shout out to Denis our driver, who always had a smile on his face, explained a lot about the local culture and even brought me some local fruit from his garden for me. The gorilla trek is amazing, a definite must do. Will definitely stay here again when I return.

I returned to Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp this year and it was just as magical and amazing as the first visit. It’s staff is superb and the location is perfect for trekking out of Buhoma. They care for you so well here and I couldn’t imagine a better base for gorilla trekking.
