Beautiful and peaceful place. Wonderful experience to wake up in an abundance of birds just in front of our 'nest'. Would definitely recommend this place as it supports the local community.

We had such a wonderful stay, that we kept extending it. We ended up staying for 5 nights. It is so important to support the community and empower women. This is what this place is all about. They took such good care of us. The views are spectacular. The staff are super friendly and Moses the chef cooks the best meals in Uganda. He is so gifted!

Im writing another review because we stayed here twice, before and after going to Bwindi to see the gorillas. Silas and his family have designed a little piece of paradise here on a small island in the middle of Lake Bunyonyi. From the very first moment we contacted them after booking we were made to feel at home. Communication about getting picked up on their small boat was excellent, the ride to the island was beautiful. We were looked after superbly during our stay, the food was delicious and the sunset views from the deck out onto the lake were stunning. We loved this place so much that we stayed before going to see the gorillas and then came back for another two nights. 10/10!

Great accommodation on an island in Lake Bunyonyi. Accommodation is the best place we stayed in Uganda. We stayed in a one of the private lodges that have ensuite bathrooms. Clean with hot shower and nice view of the lake, some comfortable chairs to enjoy the view. People are very friendly and reasonable. The shared restaurant is at a viewing platform with great view over the beautiful lake Bunyonyi. They catch lots of crayfish and recently they make some nice Louisiana crawfish in shell :). The trip to the island is at your own cost and can be self arranged or by the accommodation. Parking is at the mainland and safely guarded.

Sink was clogged and leaking, no hot water were there for us, we couldn't find a trash can in the room, electricity sockets were far from the bed, another bed was in the room, many insects and spiders were in the room. Staff was helpful and friendly. Manager was putting efforts.

Positive: beautiful surroundings you can go canoeing or swim in lake bunyonyi from here the staff is very cute, welcoming and trying to help shower water was warm Negative: some things can be improved and some of the staff needs better training, sometimes they acted a bit awkward the room could be cleaned better. they provide just one towel. my room was full of spiders and spider webs, in the bathroom and bedroom. I counted more than 30 spiders in my room. maybe that’s part of their concept but don’t come her if you’re afraid of them. my friend stayed in a different room and he told me the same thing it was rather dark in the room i stayed, i needed a flashlight the drainage of the sink didnt work well, it took very long for the water to drain. one of the storage spaces was a bit lose and once all my stuff fell into the sink that was still full of water cos it didnt drain when i asked for complimentary water at the reception, they told me that they don’t offer it. so i had to go and buy it myself. but on the last day i found out that they have a water dispenser with drinking water at the reception that i didnt see. i was confused why the didn’t tell me about it.

This was a beautiful place to stay- we loved our eco nest with spectacular views over the lake - the bird sound in the morning was magical. We really appreciated the warm and friendly hospitality of Silas, Godwin and the rest of the team. We were sad to leave and hope one day to return.

Stay here!!!! You will not find a better place to stay in the Lake Bunyoni area. It’s a piece of paradise. It’s a community run, not for profit organization so all your money goes to a good cause. Silus the manager is doing a great job for the larger community. Assistant Managers Comfort and Tom are very good at their jobs and can organize anything you need. They have loads of tours that are ivery nteresting and benefit the wider community. Bar and restaurant staff Isaac and Anisha are lovely and welcoming. The views from their bar/restaurant area are incredible. I have been in Uganda for 3 weeks and chef Moses has prepared the best food I have tasted in the country. Very talented chef! We stayed 5 days but you could stay there a lot longer. Highly recommended!!!!

Super beautiful island, have never seen nothing like it. Saw a lot of birds, of which the crown crane bird. Very friendly staff, good food, amazing views and very pleasant boat trip that took us to the island.

What a location, amazing spot in such a tranquil corner of Uganda. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place. Highlights were the popped crayfish & chips snack, friendly staff and swimming dock. One of the few lakes in Uganda you can swim so enjoy it. If you are self driving the road can get a little sketchy down to the dock in the rain, so get your 4wd training in.

This is a gem of a place. The team led by Silas are great and the location fabulous. Their ethos is embedded in the community and the environment. staying here will also do good. take the time to find out more from Silas. the restaurant had a fabulous view… and I can recommend the masala crayfish especially as we saw them being caught right below our right out there on the lake traditional hut. Communication was fantastic with advice on which car compound to use and general help and assistance. Do go there!!!

An amazing location with great hospitality and amazing team, the nest rooms views are breathtaking. We loved the food, especially the katogo breakfast meals. If you get the chance, do the island tour and learn about the history of the islands of Lake Bunyoni!

Excellent choice for budget accommodation at Lake Bunyonyi. The lodge is built on a sustainable model with proceeds from sales invested in addressing community needs.

Absolutely serene and a beautiful place. Great staff who are happy to show you the area and the food is incredible. So much bird life around and canoe trip on the lake is a must, a good way to exercise and get some insight on life around these islands and the magnificent landscape surrounding the area.

We had a wonderful time staying here. It was recommended by a dear friend and he did not disappoint! The staff and service were excellent and the food was really delicious! We did not have anything to complain about. They have a great mission in supporting the community in Lake Bunyonyi, no plastics and they provide filtered water all for free (yep you don’t need to buy bottled water!). The activities were informative and invigorating. Just a superb place to stay!
