On our last day in Uganda we headed to Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa to grab some lunch at The Citadel Restaurant. As our flight to Uganda had arrived in the early hours of the morning, and our return flight would depart around the same time, I wasn't going to have another chance to get a glimpse of Lake Victoria so I was excited to hear that the resort is located right next to it. The resort is beautiful, well maintained and it was awesome to be able to see a bit of Lake Victoria from it. After taking some photos we headed to the Citadel Restaurant which unfortunately does not capitalize on the views of the lake, but did serve some local dishes including Tilapia which was caught in the lake. I went for the Tilapia Fillets and can highly recommend you give it a try. I also went for one of my favourite local beers, Nile, which I can highly recommend if you haven't tried it yet. The food was good, the service was good and the beer was good - what more can you ask for.

Lake Victoria Serena Golf resort hotel, wow what an amazing hotel. Went for swim, gym, massage and sauna, then had the buffet after. Swim, gym, massage and sauna was only 150,000 UGX around £35 for the day. The swimming pool is very secluded, with pool side bar and service, you can order food sat next to the pool, service team are really friendly and helpful. Pool side food is good and wilt time was low but there was only 5 people there so to be expected really. After our swim me and my friend went for a couples massage, even though we were not a couple it was fine very private and respectful, and they were really good, we both felt so relaxed afterwards, well worth the treat. Then we went for a sauna, they have both mens and women’s sauna. They even have a freezing cold plunge pool. From red hot to freezing cold, you feel great afterwards. Again the service team were really professional, friendly and helpful. Later we went for the buffet which was about 80,000 UGX, like £15. Lots of amazing local foods to try, fruits and sweets, all you can eat so make sure you go and an empty stomach and try as many different types of foods you can. Uganda has the most amazing food so it was great to try so many different dishes in one go. Juice, coffee tea all in on the deal. Highly recommend having a good walk around the gardens too, absolutely beautiful, tropical paradise, the views of the lake are breath taking. Take your camera if you have one. You’ll be picture happy.

EDIT: Don’t believe management. It’s been over a month when they’ve “looked” into it and I have yet to see a refund. Still untrustworthy. BEWARE OF EXTRA CHARGES! I booked a couples massage at the Spa online and paid through their online service. Upon arrival, the manager demanded that I paid for the service again in person. I am now left with two charges for the same massage package. They haven’t contacted me back for my dispute and I can’t believe a reputable hotel would steal from their customers.

I had the pleasure of staying at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort in Kampala, and it was truly an exceptional experience. One of the most impressive aspects was the level of cleanliness – it was impeccably clean throughout my stay. The rooms were not only comfortable but also well-equipped with everything I needed, from a hairdryer to an iron, all readily available without having to request them from reception. The room's view was breathtaking, overlooking the serene Lake Victoria, and the tranquility of the resort made it a perfect escape from the bustling city. The staff provided excellent service, always ready to assist with a smile. And let's not forget about the delicious food! Overall, my stay at Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort was a truly memorable and enjoyable experience. I highly recommend this wonderful destination.

All inclusive site. Everything from playground for kids to tennis to basketball to golfing to eating/dining, gym, pool, spa bars and guest services. Staff: First rate personable staff. I cannot under appreciate how high I regard the staff, they are QUITE personable/efficient/well trained !!! Caveats: Mattresses are still in plastic liner - be prepared to sweat every night; Parties/Weddings/Construction - opt for a room >50m away from centre; Parties/Weddings/Construction - noise! Don't get room service unless you order cool or dry food; Be prepared for electrical outages, literally everyday up to 22 times, averaged ~10 times/day; Room WiFi was flakey; Distance from town - if you want distal you've got it, for me hindsight is perfect - twas too distal to Kampala given traffic;

The resort is enormous and had many interesting sights, including the fountains ⛲ at various spots. Simply refreshing is the sound of the fountain's water 🌊. The area's breathtaking beauty and relaxing atmosphere make it seem like a good spot to unwind before returning to the hectic outside world 🌎. Gorgeous 🥰 gardens for weddings 💒, graduation 🎓 celebrations 🥂, etc... I am inclined to review the hospitality.

Gardens are very nice and well-kept. The sauna was nice too. The room was fine and clean, beautifully made comfortable bed. However too overcrowded with furniture for my liking, especially tables. Service was also good. Unfortunately, the only meal (breakfast) we had there was extremely disappointing to say the least. While making the order the person on the phone seemed clueless and could barely tell us what was on the breakfast menu. When we got to eating, we discovered that nothing appeared to be fresh. The milk tea, fruits and juice confirmed our assumptions upon tasting. Also, the black tea seemed unfresh judging from the amount of build up at the bottom of the tea pot. I had a terrible tummy ache and running stomach after the little we ate. We could gotten food poisoning. I don't know what happened in the kitchen that day but that was extremely negligent and certainly not on par with what we expected from an almost 5 star hotel. I hope that was a one-time mistake and they are not serving unfresh food to other people.

It was a great experience, I loved the visit. Perfect location near the great Lake Victoria shores with a cool breeze all day long. The rooms are very perfect, lovely service and great hospitality.

This is my favorite place here in Kampala. I love the food. The fish🤗🤗 . The views. The waters. Always thrilled.

A great place to be. beautiful scenery, excellent food and infrastructure. Security guaranteed and so is silence and conducive atmosphere. Sadly, here's a five star hotel with some no star services. After paying for sauna and swimming, we're shocked to find substandard facilities at the pool. No towels, no secure lockers etc. The pool was congested with kids and the staff at the pool were much less than five star. At the sauna though, it's the exact opposite. Everything is pretty interesting and staff are so professional and friendly especially the gentleman Manning the men's side. And the food; it was a big disappointment. Fish was fresh and great but when I ordered for posh (maize flour bread) and vegetables, it was far less than the price tag. I was actually surprised to have been charged for it. The staff in service at the restaurant looked stressed & unwilling to work. I even ordered for water that's never been delivered hitherto. May be it was because of the COVID impact. The services here were so unacceptable that day and it was obvious the place was understaffed. Make it a point to visit. This is a five star hotel and I trust all will be great. Cheers!

Beautiful surroundings, clean, spacious and luxurious room with great views.. only issue is there's only one master switch to turn off the lights... a nuisance if one has to use the bathroom in the night!!.. everyone has to be woken up cause you can't turn on the bathroom light without turning on all the lights in the room! The food is yummy.. (Buffet has a good selection of foods).pastry can be a hit and miss... a 5 star hotel should have way better pastry chefs! Service can be very slow at times!... ordered a medium size pizza for children ..took almost an hour! A real shame because overall a great experience.. NB. We gave feed back.. and were given a free bottle of red wine.

Calm, collected and serene. Words that can be used perfectly to describe its peaceful scenery, with an acknowledgement of the past and the present. It is a sight to behold. Customer care will make you feel at home, with the happy stuff always checking to make sure you receive the best of the best from them. Good for family and you alone as well.

It's a nice place but you are not allowed to take pictures using your DSLR camera. Only pictures with smart phone are allowed. No taking pictures in the parking area. Otherwise it attracts a big some of money when you don't comply, even if there are no sign posts to warn people not to do so. I suggest they put up a sign post to warn people about photography.

The place is clean and green...so beautiful both during the day and at night. Service is exquisite and the staff are polite and very helpful. Google maps has location to the dot. The food is out of this world and recently i discovered a childrens play area. There is always something new to see and excite you. So religious sensitive, provision of both Bible and Quran in the rooms....and also Qibla direction indicated on the ceiling in the room. Great place to be.

I have been to Serena before but not like this. It's a massive establishment. Well thought out. A super challenging golf course that a learner like me felt overwhelmed with all the "lakes" on the course. Room 410 was nice and well apportioned. Up to that point everything was five star till we went for dinner. First my colleague was advised to smoke his cigar in the parking. He was a resident. Then we ordered dinner. Order was confused. We booked a boat ride. The captain was unavailable. Nothing that can't be fixed.

Location is great in my opinion. The service was meh. Much could be done here. What disappointed me the most was the lunch buffet. The variety is so small. I also didn't get a chance to go see the rooms. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the scenery, a lot. It was quite calm and amazing 😊. Asante sana.

If you're looking for the best place to go out with family, friends or ur pets this is the place. I usually go there with my family for celebrations, gatherings or just to play while enjoying the beautiful scenery and service. I definitely recommend this place.

An islet of peacefulness hotel in the suburb of hectic Kampala It is quite far from the center, just by lake Victoria, so going to center through the rush hour and Kampala's traffic jams might need some patients. But the views and the air worth it. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. The breakfast and the dinner buffet are very diverse and tasteful. The pool is great, the spa is very nice and the gardens around are joy to the eyes. The stuff are wonderful, always try to help in a friendly manner. They give a genuine impression that they are happy you stay in their hotel.

Spectacular beautiful it has space for people of all age groups, children and the old. I enjoyed a walk from the restaurant up down the slopes towards the golf club and Marina. I missed taking pictures of the lovely flowers, I will be back for that. The restaurant up the.main conference good tasty burger, however I would do with more courtesy 😋😀

Today (23/07/2023), my family and I have experienced the worst service ever at Citadel Restaurant_Serena Hotel, Kigo! The fish served was almost stale, the chicken was so hard, the chapati was hard too! Only mutton was served, no option for beef or goat’s meat! The desert cakes were almost stale too and too hard! The customer service was very poor! The juice wasn’t fresh with the variety of fresh fruits available in Uganda! I would not recommend anyone to come to Serena Hotel, Kigo! The place is hyped for no reason only to cheat is the Ugandans!

You need a car to get to this place. It's a place that can get you feeling ashamed for arriving on a boda boda. Also, main entrance is at a bend if you approach from the Entebbe expressway so be careful. Other than that, the service is great. I got assistance whenever I needed it. And I don't know if it's because it was Easter weekend but there were swings, blocks and a bouncing castle that the tot I went along with really enjoyed. The pool is also another wonder... I hope I can return to swim there too. The place by the pool is nice for parties and the washrooms by the pool have a nappy changing table. So cool.

Always Love to be at the Serena during the Easter Holiday and the Golf Tournament. Always I have requested that checked in guests should have their dinning tables reserved and not given to Walkin guests... This has happened the 2nd time to us.

The location is awesome. Its location enables you to see the beautiful scenery of Uganda. Guys,Uganda is beautiful.

Beautiful scenery in a peaceful and quiet location. Although their food didn't really match up to what I expected especially when you see a place looking as nice as that. So more improvement can be done there. Otherwise Its a great location and I'd recommend it for weddings, parties and general accommodation hospitality.

From the reception, I was welcomed well. I was assigned a guide to take me to my room. The room had different drinks, it was neat and extremely clean. The team was really nice and hospitable. The service great.

This is a large place with the very beautiful landscape design and buildings, right on the hilly shore above the lake Victoria. One of the places where you can come to take a walk in the buzzy Kampala. There is also a large kids playground with the staff ready to help look after. They serve super expensive brunch on Sundays, but it's only good because you don't have to wait. And waiting for your meal in the restaurant could last well over 1 hour, and not less than 30 min for any drink. I would not recommend this place as a lunch or dinner option also because of the food. But it is a nice place for a cocktail or coffee with cool views and serenity of the park.

Great place for golf or even just a lovely meal with a view. Good security, free-parking, and a marina to boot. If you are here for golf they have a small pro shop, caddies for hire, and a golfers only bar/pub area. If you are just here to relax the restaurant at the golf club has a beautiful view out over the marina and golf course, great food both local and western options, and cold drinks!

For a wedding, the services were below my expectations, half of the things they promised were not delivered. I had hoped for a much better service, not even the food matched up.

The place is nice, spacious, clean, ample parking space, secure, has wifi, room service and a Golf Course. With go-karts for those too tired to walk around.

My family enjoyed dining, golfing, basketball and swimming at the resort. The food and beverage service were excellent! The golf course and caddies were also fantastic! The rooms were nice, but the air conditioning didn’t work in one of our rooms and small caterpillars kept crawling in under the doors in both rooms from the hallways. The gym policy is archaic and the manager would not allow my teenage children to use the exercise bikes, despite having an empty gym that the manager was using daily. Massage therapy is also for adults only. Disappointing given the hot temperatures outdoors and missed revenue opportunity. Overall, a beautiful resort with some very helpful staff (Mr. Atugonza, James, Cedric, Richard, Toronto, Joan, Sarah, and Ivan in F&B and Bell Services respectively).

Apart from the good hotel view, the food service on the day of our visit was poor. Our orders took forever- even though we only ordered for dessert. It was poorly served and the ice cream had all melted. The cheese cake tasted stale and dry.

Am so much happy with Cedrick the bell boy who was so much welcoming and friendly from day one moreso speaking fluent English.He has really been nice and what i know is he's always like this to every guest. if i had a position as a manager. I would definitely promote him. Not to forget, the F&B team most especially Brenda and Angella who provided us with a very good coffee (cappuccino) for our breakfast. They were very much careful while taking our orders and realised that they didn't make any mistakes while serving us. Will definitely return. Cheers

Reached at the Serena L V ic Hotel gate. I was refused entry reason I had no reservation. Alas any five star hotel cannot deny a client entry due to no reservation. It was not indicated on in posted on your website neither at the gate. What a shame

I would suggest to the Business entity to offer room service(Food) freely when ordered or called for by your clients. Great service from Dickson Kijjambu, Chef Bosco Ssali, Josephine and Felista. It was indeed a fine dining experience at The Lago restaurant. I definitely recommend you visit Kigo.

What a beautiful tranquil retreat away from the chaos in Kampala. I much prefer this Serena location to the one in Kampala. Not only are the grounds well designed with a beautiful lake view, but the whole atmosphere is much chiller, less pretentious and much kinder service than the one in Kampala. Can't wait to bring my mum here

Larger conformable rooms with extra amenities and a Beatiful lake view. The hotel has a Marina and excellent heath and wellness services. It's could do better on the range of meals on the buffet and service, it is at times difficult to get a service staff to attend to you

It's a beautiful place to stay and enjoy and also a nice place to hold workshops especially Residential ones to get to enjoy the gym facilities too. Love it and can't wait to go back

It’s so beautiful and peaceful over there, I will not deny that. However, I went there with my family (only for a meal) and we received the worst pizza ever. The pineapple must’ve been fermented, the cheese a bit off and the chicken almost not ready. I wish I was lying… The ice cream was also not the best at all… and we had 1 waiter for a table of more than 11 people…but apart from that, it was a lovely experience.

The place is lovely. The welcome was so warm, room were promptly kept and very clean, tasty meals and lots of options. Beautiful scenery and serene indeed.

My wife and I loved having our wedding (t)here on the 3rd of September, 2022, and starting our honeymoon (t)here as well. A magnificent, recommendable place.

I have been here a couple of times but I think I stayed longest last week on my previous trip. The room was very okay, the food I ordered for was good, breakfast the same and most staff were generally friendly and happy to help. My only issue was with the wifi that seemed to be on and off, actually I didnt have access for like 2 or 3 out of the 5 days of my stay. Otherwise the rest of my stay was lovely, I will be back most definitely, just need the wifi bambi🥺

The food, service and rooms were good, and I enjoyed my stay, the gym and pool were also spectacular, and on top of that, the golf course is absolutely fabulous. Definitely would come back

Great Sunday buffet lunch served with champagne. There is a play area for kids. Only challenge is, you cannot visit it until you have paid for the bill because you have to show the receipt. So, if you are chilling there for long, you cannot move in between play area and lunch buffet.

Wonderful getaway that wasn't far to reach. Beautiful grounds with a play area for kids. I was pampered at the spa and left feeling thoroughly relaxed. Great gym facilities. And my favourite...it was quiet. I absolutely enjoyed my stay here.
