Lovely accommodation in a traditional African setting. Breathtaking views of the waterfalls and Mbale town centre, especially at dusk as the sun sets. Excellent International food prepared by a top class chef. Highly recommend a visit.

This was truly the most amazing experience - I can't call it just a holiday because it was much more than that. The traditional bandas were an incredible treat to stay in, and the views when waking up made me physically gasp! The spot the lodge is built on is indescribably beautiful and I have never been anywhere like it. The natural beauty at the lodge and around the entire area was breathtaking. The staff at the lodge are friendly and attentive, and were able to answer all the questions I had for them about the country, culture, the animals etc. They went above and beyond to help, serving out of genuine kindness of heart. The rooms were kept so clean, truly 5* service. Every aspect was wonderful. There is so much to do whether at the lodge(reading while taking in the views, talking to the staff, relaxing with a drink, visiting the wildlife centre and more), in the local area and on a wider scale too, like a safari! The walks were stunning and range from very manageable for all ages to more challenging (and more rewarding) climbs. Exploring the towns was very exciting, and getting to see the wildlife and animals was something I never thought I'd have the privilege to do. I felt like I was in a movie. Every day of my trip felt like a once in a lifetime experience! I cannot recommend the Cwmbale Lodge enough.

I was privileged to be one of the first visitors to this amazing place. The individual rooms are traditional "banda" style with a beautiful wood and grass roof construction that you can appreciate from a very comfortable bed (four poster style with a pretty mosquito net). The view to the mountain, waterfall and lush greenery from my room was a joy to wake up to. The chef, John, made us some wonderful food, all enjoyed from the open plan dining area with huge windows and views towards the plain and Mbale town. Incredible sunsets. Another plus of staying at this amazing lodge was that it is situated in a wildlife park, so just a quick walk down the hill and able to stroke the camels and hand-feed the monkeys! We did The River Walk and the trip to Sisiye Falls - both beautiful, with knowledgeable guides. This place is an oasis and the staff are so friendly. A truly wonderful place to stay!

Been Visiting Uganda For more Than a decade, this year found this jewel hidden up the hills above Mbale city, was absolutely blown by it, starting from the African architecture of the building to the location. The accommodation was second to none clean with every amenities you need. The Staff very professional and attentive for your needs the food was so good and i would say with confidence at par with some of the best restaurants i been in the UK. Also as a bonus there is a wildlife park within the ground that serve as a conservation and education centre, which you can interact with the animals. We were so impressed of the place that we are going to book it again for next year.

Incredible experience. A beautiful country full of beautiful people. From the staff to the locals, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Never a shortage of amazing food, beautiful views and fun activities. The lodge was amazing, very comfortable and a pleasure to stay at. The wildlife sanctuary was also incredible, especially the monkeys, and the keepers were so helpful. The food was such a treat, some of my favourite food ever, what a phenomenal chef.

The sound of the waterfall is therapeutic,😌 the view of Mbale City is breathtaking, then there's the books(now I have to go back and finish me book 🀭). You'll fall in love with nature. The coffee was fairly good ☺️

I could not reccomend Cwmbale Eco-Tourist lodge more. It is beyond incredible. Waking up every morning to such beautiful views and the sound of the waterfall was just so special. A stunning place, with very friendly staff and quite honestly some of the best food you will ever taste. One of the best experiences I have ever had. Highly recommend!

Incredible food, no words can truly describe my surprise to this calibre of food, surpassing many popular restaurants in Cardiff. The location is spectacular with rising mountains and the calming sounds of distant waterfalls, and across is the city. The stars are also surprisingly visible despite being so close and as a bonus the accommodation is extensively cleaned to remove the inevitable dirt that creeps in. This lodge is simply fantastic

It was a joy to stay at Cwmbale Eco-lodge for 2 weeks. The accommodation was uniquely Ugandan! It was comfortable, clean and most of all beautiful with its traditional architecture and breath-taking views of the Wanale Ridge. The facilities were spacious, with ensuite, 4 poster beds, huge, panoramic windows and private front door with a lock. I felt very well looked after and safe thanks to the wonderful staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble. Well maintained paths allow an easy walk to the open-plan dining area. The food prepared by John the Chef was absolutely incredible, with show-stopping, generous dishes every evening. The experiences offered by the lodge provided a superb insight into Ugandan culture. Hiking the waterfalls, watching the traditional dancers and drummers, visiting local craftspeople and experiencing the sights and sounds of Mbale market, to name a few. I would heartily recommend a stay.

My second visit to this beautiful place - a little piece of heaven on earth! The views are fabulous, incredible sunsets and loved being up close with the animals. A highlight was a baby Colobus monkey born whilst we were there :) Fabulous food from John the chef as before.

This hotel is truly one of a kind. The staff are kind, helpful, attentive, and knowledgeable. The rooms have stunning views, comfortable beds, and spacious setup. The food is delicious. The prices are reasonable and you cannot beat the view in all of Mbale.
