The hotel was really nice and green all around. A perfect place where you can stay with your family. There were several trees give it a very fresh and pure ambiance. The food was decent and hygienic and i liked the poha that was served in the breakfast, it was really good. The amenities provided were all applicable and brilliant. The location was in proximity to Ujjain railway station at a walkable distance which is really good thing. The Mahakaleshwar temple and Ram ghat were also located in the proximity. The complete environment was very quiet and relaxing. All the rooms were really clean and well managed πŸ‘Œ

It's a MP tourism owned hotel. It has good infrastructure. It is a three star property. The rooms are not clean. The quality of food is not upto the mark. The staff is courteous. The standards have gone down what it used to be a couple of years back.

The quality of food and hospitality has become very poor and they have increased the price by 30% and reduced the quantity. It’s 2 star kind of hotel restaurant and charges are of 5star .

MPT Shipra is the best place to stay in Ujjain. The hotel is a star property with ample space for parking. Rooms are cosy, spacious with all the modern amenities like Electric Kettle, Mini Fridge and Hair drier. They provide high quality toiletries in the washroom. I wonder why this property has been underrated on some sites. The property is very well maintained by the MP tourism department, not less than any private star hotels. The staff is courteous and well behave. All credit should go to the staff who put their effort into uplifting the quality of the service. We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and 2 nights were completely blown away by the quality of service we got. The hotel enjoys convenient location and all major city’s attractions are easily accessible. The restaurant ambience is rich. Complementary buffet breakfast was good with limited items on the menu. Staff really takes person care. If you are not able to return to the hotel before breakfast time after your darshan at the temple, staff will make sure to have food packed and kept aside for you.

Well, it has equal negative & positive sides as per my personal experience. Obviously, we can’t compare Service as per 5 Stars standards. However, if some one is getting the room under 3500/night with breakfast only then go for this. Property as enough rooms and those are spacious including bathroom. Restaurant/dining hall has enough space. However, room service is very slow, I think because of the multiple rooms and limited staff. Room was not clean, it has dust all over and it was really looking dirty. I stayed in Room 210. There is a different buffet concept here for lunch/dinner. However, breakfast was nice for me with a limited menu. Food (Lunch) is simple now varies as per food habit. Would recommend to go for it outside as there are awesome options with tasty dishes under 350/plate unlimited. Breakfast can be taken here. Location is also nice most of the important places are near by. As per my personal experience cleanliness had disappointed me and the price I paid (7500/night) as I had to book it one day prior. Check multiple booking websites and call them directly to get best price. Enough parking space and safe as well.

We stayed for a night in this MP Tourism hotel. Big rooms, slightly unclean and old looking. The bathrooms were clean. Seren morning views due to lavish greenery on the campus. Hospitality of the staff was nice. Too many mosquitoes though. The morning breakfast was the highlight. Not very far from Mahakal Temple, and a walking distance from the railway station.

Location was closeby (5 mins walk) from the secondary gate of the railway station. But far from the temples. Teen batti and madhav club the nearest landmark. Buffet breakfast is okok in terms of spread and taste. Rooms are just spacious and house keeping is good, although a bit on the slower side. Flow of water in showers was pathetic.

Beautiful property and very accommodating and efficient staff. We travelled by train and it reached ujjain by 6 am so we were in the hotel by 6.45 am and our booking was from 2 pm.Since we travelled during diwali vacation all the rooms in the hotel were booked to it's full capacity.we requested the manager if he can allow us early check in and we were willingto pay extra as we had booked the cab for sight seeing.since the rooms were not available we decided to use the hotel common wash room in the lobby to freshen up and get ready.since my 20 year old daughter was also there he asked us to wait for some time and gave us a small but decent room to freshen up.Thank god he did because of which we could take some rest and we were fully energised by the time the cab arrived. The food is awesome they pay heed to your smallest request and the icing on the cake was the way they packed our dinner for our return journey. Thank you all the staff of MPT Shipra for making our stay so comfortable and memorable

Very nice property, rooms were spacious, neat and clean. It is around 3 km from Shri Mahakaleshwar temple, auto available easily and charging 80 -100. Food at restaurant is very good in taste and hygienic.

We stayed her for 2 nights. Room no 210 is a nice room with a balcony and a separate dining . There is a terrace in front of it which is like a private terrace. Location is 1.8km from the temple Complex. Autos re available easily and they charge 60- 90 bucks. Ujjain doesn't have any 5 star property, but this place is definitely recommended. Their in house restaurant is also very good. The hotel staff are very friendly and nice . Will stay here again if we visit Ujjain.

My stay was fantastic and I loved this property very much. I have had very bad experiences with MTDC as the rooms and properties are not upto the mark and thought it would be same at MPT. but it was a wonderful experience. Nice rooms and restaurant and facilities. I was pleasantly surprised. Thanks MPT for hosting us and people were helpful and always ready to serve. Har Har Mahadev.

My parents stayed here for 2 nights recently. It was a very comfortable stay for them, with great food and even better stay. The service was really good; they helped them a lot with sight seeing! Government organised tourism is getting better in India day by day and MPT Shipra is a living example of that.

One of the good hotels of MP tourism. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Food and restaurant was also clear and up to the mark. From my past experience at other state tourism hotels this was the best one πŸ€—

Excellent location and good facilities. The hospitality was warm. The property requires better maintenance though. The food is spicy, and not quite healthy although it is tasty.

The manager of the hotel was very rude and sexist in his ways of behaviour. Also, these people are looting their guests during check-out. They dnt mention if they have not returned any change to you so if u dnt calculate you might end up paying them extra and they dnt even acknowledge that they dnt have change. I would request every guest to check their bill properly. These people have very poor mindset they believe in looting people and they dnt have any fear as they are in government job and it shows in their laid back attitude. Also, there room service is really very poor and these people have very laid back attitude and does not believe in giving proper service to their guests.

Good and clean rooms. Food was nice. Service was excellent - especially the staff's courtesy. Not a luxury place but definitely good in budget.

Service was slow, We asked to check in and they took 1.5 hours to give us rooms. Rooms look pretty old compared to what we see in the pictures. Restaurant had a good food but it was a bit on pricey side.

It's an old facility. Near to railway station. We have stayed here in 2012. Not much of change. Breakfast is good. Suite rooms are good but cost around 6000/- per night. You have one more hotel Ujjain just opposite, also belonging to MPT. The restaurant in hotel Ujjain is vegetarian.

A very pleasant visit. The ambience of the hotel is quite natural with traditional vibes of Ujjain. Staff is pretty professional & gentle. Rooms are bit smaller & not very premium in look but they contains facilities & amenities of a 3 star hotel. Food is the best in MP tourism properties possibly in whole Malwa region. So go for it..

Good rooms, good food and friendly staff is what anyone can ask for. Some of the rooms even have additional balconies and there's a good open parking space. Very close to the market and historic places are close by.

The food here was really very delicious but they will have to exceed the variety of food served. Only a limited variety of vegetarian dishes are available here. Good place with a peaceful and calm environment and delicious good food.

DETAILED REVIEW: I wonder why this property has only 4 stars on MakeMyTrip? If it were upto me I would be giving it a solid 4.8/5 stars. What a WONDERFUL experience we had at this property! We stayed at this hotel for 3 days and 2 nights from 15th Nov- 17th Nov 2022 and were completely blown away by the quality of service we got. What is SO amazing about this property you may ask? Competitive price: The price of the room for the kind of service that is offered is spectacular. And if you book your room through MakeMyTrip you will a great bargain. For 2 nights and three days we ended up spending around 7k for a deluxe room with a complimentary breakfast. Locational advantage: Since the hotel comes under Madhya Pradesh Tourism, it has quite possibly a locational advantage. It is hardly 5 minutes from the Ujjain railway station and 15 minutes from Mahakaleshwar Temple. Infrastructure: Unlike what one would expect from a government funded accommodation, the property is very WELL MAINTAINED. The hotel is built on a big piece of property thus making it quite open, spacious and well lit. As of November 2022, we could see no crumbling ceilings, mould, dirty pathways etc. Our deluxe room was very spacious, clean and sanitised. Every electrical outlet in the room was working, 24/7 running hot water, working TV and A/C, electric kettle with all requisite tid-bits for making dip-tea, working mini fridge, spacious balcony with full sun, sofa seating besides the bed, absolutely clean and freshly washed linens. The wifi gave us issues but the hotel was already in the process of getting their connection changed. The most striking part is how the entrances to the both the hotel buildings are wheelchair accessible (elevators are also available)! Another bonus, the hotel is a visual treat with its minimal white paint, but lush and beautiful GREENERY. Stunning! Service and Staff: The best part about the hotel is its staff that makes it worth the stay. Right from when you are greeted at the reception to when you are taken to your rooms, to ordering room service and getting complaints resolved. The moment we gave our feedback at the front desk about our electric kettle, the person in charge immediately called the housekeeping and got it changed. At the restaurant, Mr. BHOLA PRASAD is a treat to interact with. Despite the rush coming to this hotel (it is often fully booked), he keeps his calm and greets everyone with a smile. Always willing to accommodate your requests. Cannot have regular roti-rice-sabzi? He will get simple khichdi made for you. Running late after your darshan at the temples? He will make sure to have food packed and kept aside for you. Want something kid-friendly? He will get something whipped up for you. His staff his equally warm as well. All in all, completely worth the money spent. I was quite skeptical when I was booking this stay but I know now that my stay at Ujjain will always bring me back to MPT Shipra. Even my father could not stop raving about this place. Solid recommend. Just make sure you book your stay well in advance.

Rooms are good. But for the price we pay, they can be better. Old chairs and beds are still there. They need to upgrade to modern furniture. But service is good, food is good and location is good. Accessible to temple and main places in Ujjain. I recommend the hotel for stay but I wish hotel management would upgrade the facilities.

The hotel is under MP tourism and is very spacious with lots of parking facilities. I believe this is one of the best option when it comes to the hotels inside the Ujjain city. A 3 star property. We stayed for 3 days. Some important points: 1. Mahakaleshwar temple is at the distance of 3kms. 2. The local transport (auto/toto) would cost you INR 100 - INR 120 for the temple. 3. One can get local transport just outside the hotel or you can also ask anyone at the reception and they'll help you to arrange one. 4. Hotel also provides taxi service. 5. The hotel is at the walking distance from the Ujjain railway station platform number 8. 6. The staff is very helpful at the hotel. 7. BREAKFAST: very limited menu and even the taste is not so good. They serve almost the same thing everyday. (Potato,Poha, Idli and some fruits). 8. Lunch and dinner options are good at the hotel with a decent rate. 9. The hotel also has a separate bar. 10. Rooms were spacious but had damp in the walls.

Considering this being a Madhya Pradesh Tourism Hotel, it was good enough. Rooms are quite spacious with all required amenities. Location is prime enough. One can go to Mahakaleshwar and all other sites in an e-rickshaw from here. The hotel also arranges for 4 wheelers if you want a drop to the nearest airport, which is Indore. Although, Hygiene may be improved upon. Items in the Breakfast were limited and repetitive..Common washrooms could be maintained better... Otherwise it was a quite convenient stay..

The rooms were old , the furniture was old and it felt like a government guest house from the 90s, which I got to know, it is . Service was ok, a lot of "cannot do" rules and food was not good.

Excellent stay with all the amenities and wonderful hospitality displayed by the staff. Agarwal Ji, and Ajay Ji are very helpful. They went the extra mile to make the stay comfortable and hassle free. I would highly recommend this place.

It was very pleasant stay at Shipra hotel for 3 days.....very spacious property within city.....large bedroom and bathroom.....nice restaurant but limited options for breakfast....polite and helpful hotel staff especially at reception ....overall nice experience....recommended....

Good hotel, good food also. The stay was comfortable. The hotel needs to be maintained a little bit. Just like a usual government property, MP tourism is not properly maintaining it. Needs to lift up that angle of hotel.

Excellent ,been to Atharva as well but nothing beats Shipra MPT ,the nearest to railway station ,very good eateries nearby and even the in house restaurant is great .In vicinity of ample general purpose stores .Almost a perfect location all in all . No words just excellent ! At this cost ,nothing can beat Shipra MPT

Sir, Let me first congratulate MPT, for such a wonderful stay, that we had from 12 july to 14 July. The property is just like being in own home. GM Sahab Shri Subhash Agarwal, really made is proud during our interaction with him. He is a person with great empathy and kindness. Similarly ,the entire staff was very nice. Efficiency could be seen every where. Be it house keeping, Food, Front desk ...you name it ,it's SUPERLATIVE. I ,have decided to stay only in MPT HOTELS while In MP.

The hotel is in a nice location with a market nearby it. The rooms were clean and decent. The toilet was hygenic and the amenities were great too. Hot water comes 24/7, which I think is a good thing. The food was very tasty and the buffet was great. Overall it is a good hotel in Ujjain.
