It's believe to be a Sakti Pith ..... Much cleaner than other temples .... Very peaceful ..... A handsome visitors are there every day..... The best thing is parking area for two wheelers just beneath the temple with just Rs. 5 fees.... Manda among the Prasad is with quantity ... You will found just in front of stairs some shops who are selling Dalas with Rs. 60 and Rs. 100

Out of the 51 Shaktipeeth this one. This temple is in the market. Road are very narrow. Parking is availble in walking distance. Bhog distributes from 1:30PM. You have to buy bhog coupon in morning of same day or 1 day before. Not much waiting time for puja. Puspanjali also happen. Big area 3 halls are there you can sit there.

The temple was great, One thing I was impressed with was the transportation. I got a train and just as we came out of the station there was a bus stop, and after my stop I got out of a tamluk hospital mode where there was a totto stand on the left which takes you directly to the temple. When leaving the temple as I walked out a lot of tottes went by. There wasn't much of a waiting time and in the mode you ll get quite quickly as well which will drop you by station.

One of the 51 Satipiths. One of the cleanest Mandirs.. Full of divisions and spirituality. Locally named as borgobhima #borgobhima বর্গভীমা mandir. You can have the 'bhog' (prasad) of the Devi maa by paying a nominal amount. Here the Bhog includes Fish similar to other Satipiths where you will see a traditional non-veg thing as Prasad. Cons- The public toilet is a bit messy. Authority should take care of it. Else People, bhramins the puja environment are good.

Mandir is situated in a busy and congested area. But parking facilities are available for both two wheelers and four wheelers. But the two wheeler one is better as it is inside the mandir. I loved the ambience. If you wish to do darshan, you can easily do without offering puja. Timings are from 7am to 2pm , then it closes for around 1 hour.

Bibhas Shaktipeeth or Ma Bargabhima temple, located in Tamluk town of East Midnapore district of West Bengal is considered as one of the 51 Sati Peeths. According to Hindu mythology, Sati's left ankle fell on this spot. Here the Bhairav of Ma Bargabhima is Sri Sarvananda. A lot of history is associated with this temple, this temple is mentioned in many mythological texts like Chandi Mangal, Annadamangal, Devi Puran etc. One special feature of this temple is that here Ma Bargabhima is offered shol fish (snakehead murrel) as bhog. One more thing... don't forget to try the makha sondesh here.

Bargabhima Temple is a Hindu temple in Tamluk near Kolkata in Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal. It is around 87.2 km from Kolkata, 85 km from Kharagpur and well connected by NH-6 and south eastern railway tracks. It is an old Kali temple, built circa during the medieval era by a ruler of the Bhanj dynasty (Mayur/Peacock).This place has been mentioned in Mahabharata as a place which Bhima acquired. This temple is considered as 51 shakti peth of mother Durga where left ankle of sati fell. The temple has been declared by Heritage Site by West Bengal Govt. The current temple is not very old as it was rebuilt after the Islamic occupation of Bengal in the Middle Ages. In old Bengali literature, the temple was mentioned several times. The temple is the mixture of Bengali Hindu and Buddhist culture. Due to this Shakti tradition, many freedom fighter of Midnapore district took oath here that they will follow the path of dharma and free their motherland with the help of armed revolution. Famous revolutionary freedom fighter of India Khudiram Bosu used to come here to perform puja. The local people celebrate a large festival on Durga Puja, Bengali new year and Kali puja in this temple. In this temple prasad is prepared everyday for Devi Bargabhima and like most of the Shakti temple, prasad of Devi is not veg. Prasad of Devi is non-veg here and a cooked Snakehead murrel (শোল মাছ, 'sol mach') is mandatory for her. The bali ritual is abolished now, but once in a year it happens now.The architecture of the Bargabhima temple was mostly influenced by the Kalinga Architectural style of temples, with the sanctum sanctorum showing similarities with the Rameswar temple at Jhargram, while the architecture style bears similarity with Shri Hari Baladev Jew temple at Baripada which was established by Mayurbhanj rulers.

A historically significant place, that enjoys a fair amount of popularity. The present state is not too shabby, there's congestion outside, but the temple complex is seems well maintained.
