πŸ‘πŸ‘ I have visited Dal Lake twice in this year. The place is very nice and memorable. However, locals often ask for Shikara rides and can be a bit annoying. People often mention lake, visit, ride, Lake, beautiful, Shikara, shikara, Srinagar, enjoy, time,

The lake covers an area of 18 square kilometres (6.9 sq mi) and is part of a natural wetland which covers 21.1 square kilometres (8.1 sq mi), including its floating gardens. The floating gardens, known as β€œRaad” in Kashmiri, blossom with lotus flowers during July and August. The Shikhara ride charges almost 300/- to 400/- indian rupees for 1 hours.

Close to Dal lake are the hotels where you can stay, this is where the main Lake area starts and you can see some houseboats stationed there. There's a market that runs alongside and you can eat and shop there. This is not specifically a tourist point it's just that the main area starts from here. Do look out for the hotels nearby, they are cheaper than the ones you get in from of Dal lake and are better.

"Dalgate is a great place to experience Kashmiri culture. There are many temples and mosques to visit, and you can also learn about the history of the region. The food is also amazing, and you'll find everything from traditional Kashmiri cuisine to international fare."

When you are trying to create a list of places to visit in Kashmir, Srinagar definitely tops the list. As the capital of Kashmir, Srinagar is a fitting encapsulation of the beauty you can experience in the state. The prime tourist destination that comes to mind is Dal Lake. This beautiful lake in the heart of Srinagar is the perfect place to start your trip

Dalgate is a place with a number of ghats to enter into the Dal lake. It comes with options to take a Shikara ride and stay in house boats in Dal lake. The place is surrounded by many hotels and restaurants which provide delicious North Indian food. The beauty of this place is unmatched after the sunset. In a nutshell this place is worth visiting.

Dalgate is a famous place in Srinagar City which acts as a hub for tourist destination. Here Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes, etc are available with greater numbers. From here you can visit Mughal Gardens Like Shalimar Garden, Nishat Garden, Char Chinar etc. Visiting in Dal Lake Shikaras especially at evening time gives a fascinating enthusiasm.

If you are visiting there in the off-season then, you can visit dal lake at a lesser rate than the rate given by the government. For a ride in dal lake u can visit dal lake gate number 1. Dal lake is the only spot that people can visit in summer in Srinagar when snow is not there.

Beautiful place with scenic views. A shikara ride in the evening is must to fell in love with this paradise. Lots of options to stay, though houseboat should be given preference as it is totally an amazing experience.

This famous spot is too crowded... House boats on Dal lake are just as good as snapping photos only.. nothing more is in there.. neither any pleasant experience nor felt much..

This is the entrance point to the Dal Lake. Lake and surroundings are well maintained and mostly clean. Most of the locals are humble and honest. Once you reach here you will be surrounded by Shikara owners you have to bargain for the better price, if you wish for a Shikara ride. Most suitable timings are morning and evening time. Avoid buying some overpriced things from the local market or seller on the lake.

Must visit place and do Shikara ride. The views which one get is mesmerizing. If one visits in summer will be able to get greenery with snow. Just piece of advice to not get scammed with the rates said by locals. Bargain as much as possible.

If cruising through the Dal Lake has been your dream then head to Dalgate, because it is the closest hotspot located just next to the Dal Lake. This beautiful and refreshing locality connects the capital city of Kashmir.

A must visit place in Srinagar, it is the centre of the city. Don't miss to enjoy the Shikara ride. And while you ride try entering the floating market, food etc... You will not be bored even if you try multiple times.
