Brilliant padstal on the N1! The breakfast was delicious, the coffee was well made and high quality, the staff were all very friendly and kind. Couldn't have a better place to stop! Lots of lovely jams, preserves and all that. Lovely place!! R95 for the large breakfast we got was very reasonable. Definitely try their homemade lemon cordial!!!!

STOP!! You must stop here. It is about 20 minutes outside of Richmond and the perfect stop for so many reasons. This is where you want to stop regardless of where you are travelling to. They have the absolutely best pastries, pizza’s, coffee and even the availability to buy meat and wine for your holiday destination. Their wine bottles do not just taste gooood but are beautifully designed and along with all the other souvenirs you can buy, this is a perfect gift! I love love love this place. Staff are friendly, WiFi fast and it is worth it!

This was my first time stopping at Karoo Padstal. I will not miss them again. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend stopping at this road stall if you're in the area. The food, atmosphere, and staff all exceeded my expectations. It's a little slice of paradise on the side of the road!

One of the last few "real" farm stalls left in SA!! Great coffee, freshly made food, with farm baked bread....amazeballs!!! Well worth a visit and bypassing a Shell or Engen to support a local family business.

The perfect mini-relaxation stop on your journey! I cannot rave enough about this spot; what a gem! It really doesn't make sense to stop elsewhere for a break when you can experience this kind of food, service and atmosphere. The curios are absolutely amazing with even handmade pottery and soaps in the mix, not to mention the delicious preserves. I'm really sorry we never trusted our previous inclings to stop here, but going forward, we most definitely shall.

Recommended that we stop at Karoo Farmstall 18km North of Richmond on the N1. Opened at 8am Had two excellent breakfasts, a latte and a cappuccino. Would recommend this stop to anyone. Far better than any conventional stop.

We were on our way to Stellenbosch and so stoked that we stopped here. Just my type of place. Best cappuccino and I treated myself to a big slice of heaven, I mean Milk Tart. I died. Kevin had a delicious bowl of soup and cheese filled roosterkook. Stop here you won't be disappointed. Karoo lamb for sale and lots of other retail therapy!

Skip getting food at nearby service station and rather try the food here. Try the bobotie tartlet - good coffee too.

  • 4/5 Ioana D. 3 years ago on Google
Small, neat and clean padstal with proper coffee and delicious baked fare. Somewhat overpriced with meat per kg, be it Karoo lamb or beef being well in excess of price per kg compared to good quality free range meat you would find at Woolworths.
