This place really holds so much history that no one talks about. It's a shame that the government is not listening to the workers and the place lacks quite some development. I really had a wonderful time here learning about things that are part of my history, our history.

It displays relics of war especially Nigerian civil war. Here you can feel the ingenuity and technical prowess of black Africans. Most of the arsenal used for the war were locally produced and within a short period too. It is good for kids and adults alike. There is a restaurant and also a play ground for children. Accessible entrance and parking and most of the the items on display are accessible by wheelchair.

Good place to get a glimpse of some of the actually weaponry that was used during the Nigerian civil war, given the significance of such a place in history, it's rather unfortunate that not much effort is put into preserving the historic artefacts. Weirdly so, they also have a "no photography allowed policy" -_- , don't ask me how I got my pictures.

This is a historical place for Biafra during the civil war. The radio transmission was done from here at the time of the war. Presently, several weapons used during the war are kept here for the preservation of history. The Nigerian side really had suffisticated weapons from Britain, Russia and France. But the Biafra side though lacking in sophistication, were very innovative and strategic. They had the will to assert their sovereignty sequel to their political and economic marginalization from the Nigeria side. You'll discover why this 'civil war' has been called the first black on black genocide as you delve deeper. It was a worthwhile visit.

Nice place with lots of historical vibe. Poor thing, one can't take a pictures while in the building. It's amazing how weapons used during the war has been preserved for this purpose. Mind you, you have to drive or hire a car to take you there if it's your first time in Umuahia.

Federal government college keffi, is place to be. It is place where children of great potential are being trained to be better citizens of federal republic of Nigeria and the world at large. I encourage parents to enroll there children in the college. The institution has the best needed facilities to enhance better teaching and learning. Thanks.

Nigeria's Amalgamation in 1914 joint several tribes together to form the country. The 3 major tribes are Igbo, hausa and yoruba. In the year 1966 some social ethnic on rest brought about the civil war and the declaration of the republic of biafra from May 1967 to 1970. The war museum in Umuahia provides insights to the machinery used by both sides and also is the location of one of the bunkers used by the biafrian solders. There is the outside galley show casing tanks, aircrafts and other war weapons. Here you can use your camera for stills The entrance fee is 200 per person and you get a guide to take you in. As usual cameras are not allowed inside and even though there was no power - the works turned on the generator so we could see inside the gallery

To get a different feel then this area reflects and displays war relics, particularly Nigerian civil war, Here one can notice creativity and skill at local level. In such a short time frame most of the weapons were produced locally. with an area for both children and adult to unwind. even tho there was a decent tour guide, more work would need to be done "as usual with nigerian Centres", to preserve this historic place.

The National War Museum is a historical centre owned by the Nigerian government for the sake of affording the members of the public to have a good view of Relics from the Nigerian Civil war ( 1967-1970). The museum displays weapons and other military paraphernalia from antiquities to recent times. Most importantly you will find the ingenuity of the Igbo people in terms of crafting weapons locally produced out of the necessity to defend themselves from the Nigerian military, after the declaration of the republic of Biafra by the great and legendary Col. Ojukwu. You will also find in this museum military bunkers that were skillfully used by the Biafrans during the 30 months war. Relics such as locally made armoured tanks, artillery guns, military airplanes and naval ships that were both used by the Nigerians and the Biafrans are adequately preserved.

A National War museum at umuahia Abia State. Is a wonderful place for school excursion. At the Museum are the equipments used the civil war of 1967 to 1970 such as the boats, the Nigeria army jets, biafra army jets, the biafra radio, the Ojukwu bunker which was built underground, the army clothes. At the inner room the pictures of all the people that fought the war were displayed and their leaders. The hand equipments such as guns, matches, axes used during the war are kept at the inner room, also at the inner room is the pictures of all the event that went on from the beginning of the war to the end of it. Is a place where History of the civil war can be refreshed

The National war museum located in umuahia is a great center for historical knowledge. Especially for students. It helps enlighten on a topic that is almost never thought in schools which is the Nigerian Civil war. The museum contains various artifacts of war and shows the developmental stages of various African war equipments. It mostly centers on the ingenuity of the Biafran secessionists by showing the various incredible machines of war they created on their own under very stringent conditions.. Its great for historians but a bit dull. I think it needs more funding

The National War Museum is a monumental place in the Nigeria especially to the Eastern part of Nigerians. This museum contains the history of Nigeria arm forces, the history of the early men evolving from using stones to gun and gun powders. There so many artifacts here, many are monumental machine guns used during the civil war between Nigeria and Biafra, A ship with some Torpedoes, olden days war tanks made by the Biafrans, Nigeria air strike planes and many more. It's surely a place to go and learn about the historic civil war between Nigeria and Biafra.

Dilapidated, typical of a Nigerian government establishment. The museum itself is becoming an artifact in a museum. Some strategic renovations and maintenance would do the place good. Other than that, the museum is a museum!

The National War Museum in Umuahia was established in 1985. It was commissioned for the purpose of preserving Nigerian war efforts through the ages for posterity. The museum holds relics from the long civil war fought to counter the secession of Biafra from Nigeria. The museum's location was chosen for two reasons; the first was the significance of the city as the second capital of 'Biafra' after the fall of Enugu. It was also chosen because Umuahia served as home to the Ojukwu Bunker which was a base for strategic Biafran meetings.

One of the best museum i have visited. Located in β€œMuseum Road,” off Umuahia-Uzuakoli road, Umuahia Abia State.Β The National War Museum is sited at the last administrative capital of the Biafran nation after the fall of Enugu in 1967. It has the two bunkers which housed theΒ Voice of Biafra (V.O.B.), Biafra’s major news outlet to the outside world and the Ojukwu Bunker, the subterranean seat of the Biafran Government. The Museum is considered as a memorials to the soldiers, civilians and all other casualties of war and conflicts in Nigeria, particularly the Nigerian Civil War. To get some insights on Nigeria Biafra war, this is a place to visit.
