I
can’t
begin
to
describe
how
excited
I
was
when
the
sign
appeared
that
a
pure
veg
Indian
restaurant
was
coming
to
Windsor!
For
those
who
may
be
a
little
less
familiar
with
Indian
food,
pure
veg
is
a
different
realm
compared
to
huge
oil
laden
dishes
more
commonly
encountered
at
Indian
restaurants
in
the
UK.
Pure
veg
has
an
unparalleled
complexity
of
flavour
and
texture
and
is
the
closest
(I’ve
encountered)
to
authentic
Indian
food
in
the
UK.
While
Crispy
Dosa
may
not
have
the
full
authentic
spice
level
(understandable
as
it
would
likely
be
too
spicy
for
many
people)
it
has
all
of
the
flavour
and
none
of
the
excess
oil/grease.
We
ordered
the
tomato
&
tamarind
rasam
soup
to
start
(a
nutritious
digestive
aid,
especially
for
spicy
food)
and
a
3
portion
of
Idly
with
sambols
and
papad.
The
idly
were
moist
and
slightly
springy
which
is
exactly
how
they
should
be.
We
then
shared
a
masala
dosa,
a
delicious
savoury
pancake-
crispy
at
the
edges/
on
the
outside
and
softer
in
the
middle,
filled
with
potato
curry
and
a
variety
of
piquant
sambols
on
the
side.
It
was
a
first
for
me
to
experience
a
pure
veg
restaurant
with
elevated
modern
interiors.
The
majority
I’ve
visited
have
been
quite
basic,
similar
to
how
they
are
in
India.
The
ambience
and
interiors
at
Crispy
Dosa
are
laid
back,
cosy
and
slightly
higher
end
without
extortionate
prices-
all
positives
in
my
opinion.
As
we
were
leaving,
we
noticed
90%
of
other
diners
were
Indian.
Our
lunch
was
so
good
we
were
tempted
to
make
a
reservation
for
dinner
during
our
stay
in
Windsor
too
but
it
won’t
be
long
till
we’re
back.
Crispy
Dosa
will
be
our
first
stop!
P.s
If
you
love
mango
lassis
(or
if
mango
purée
blended
with
cooling
yoghurt
sounds
delicious
to
you)
don’t
forget
to
order
one!
It’s
the
perfect
accompaniment
to
a
spicy
pure
veg
meal.
