Under new ownership, thought must we must give our local and our new hosts a try. Wow, so glad we did, whilst they are keeping things simpler at the moment, the two meals my wife and I had were some of the best we've had, my wife the Biriyani and I the Keema. This food isn't your run of the mill pub curry's, but more a food experience, I've eaten curry's from all over and cooked many different ways, dare I say it, this was some of the best flavoured and balanced meals we've had. The dessert we chose was also first class, a chocolate scotch egg, as amazing and different as it sounds. We both can't wait to come back and work our way through your soon to expand menu. Your service and the welcome we received really made our night, we both had a superb evening, and couldn't stop smiling and talking about our experience all the way home, Surinder, Safia and Arun thank you and welcome to our village.

This is one of my favourite village pubs anywhere. It's a large pub with plenty of seating in the bar area and in a spacious conservatory as well as a whopping great beer garden. The food is outstanding, a cut above your ordinary pub grub but with enough on the menu for those wanting traditional fare. The hard-working team that runs it deserves every success. They are all so friendly and accommodating.

Sadly no atmosphere at all. Lunch on a Friday was sandwiches or baguettes. Told had no staff. This used to be a lovely buzzing pub with great food. Owners seem far more interested in making it an events venue. Could have forgiven all that if the price had been reasonable! Over £25 for a beer, soda and two tuna mayo baguettes which took 15 minutes to prepare. We were the only ones in the pub! Definitely won’t be going there again. Shame as the pub is a lovely old building with much potential. UPDATE ON HIS RESPONSE TRIP ADVISER Following on from my experience I posted a similar review on trip Advisor. The response must be a set text that they use for people who leave honest/poor opinions. The owner goes on and on about the pub trade dying, massive utility bills, and “saving” the pub. He clearly hates what he’s doing, bitterly regrets buying the pub and then takes his frustrations out on those customers who dare complain! My suggestion is get out of a trade you have absolutely no understanding of! I stand by what I said as others have done Zero atmosphere and expensive sandwiches. Read his website he Moans on that as well!!

Stopped here for lunch on the way to Devon. So glad we did! So friendly, large garden, food was great and my wife who is coeliac and needs everything gluten free said it was one of the best burgers she'd ever had. We'll be back when next in the area.

Amazing food and lovely staff. Incredibly friendly owner looked after us brilliantly and provided some beautiful Indian dishes. Puddings we’re amazing too! Will be heading back again, with a particular focus on getting there on a Friday evening when they do a Keema burger which is supposed to be particularly spectacular!

Omg, gone from one of the best public houses in Somerset to probably the worst. No beer No food No customers A landlady more interest in her dog than customers. A landlady more interest in a conversation than serving customers. I think this pub is sadly being run into the ground, probably so the new owners can change it's purpose and probably build 6 new houses on the plot.

Great pub for lunch and a rest when travelling to west country. We often stop here, service is always very friendly. Nice log fire in winter and garden in the summer. Good selections of light and larger meals. Also recommend leaving some space for dessert as they are great! Most recently had the chocolate selection (see pic). Will be back on next trip to south west.

A shame only sandwiches on offer as would have enjoyed a roast dinner but that didn’t dampen the effects of the two pints of Otter. Landlord was of good spirit and made us feel welcome. Shall be returning

It’s a little out of the way but a gorgeous B&B with extremely helpful hosts. The room was extremely clean and well presented. The bed was terrific - comfortable & I slept without any disturbances at all. I would have no hesitation staying there again.

We stayed at the Crown and Victoria bed and breakfast last weekend. Surinder was so helpful with booking and whilst we was there. The room was lovely. Very clean, spacious and great value for the money. The coffee machine in the room was lovely. Breakfast in the morning was very nice and we loved meeting their dog, Mister. Very cute and friendly. Would definitely recommend and we will be booking when visiting family again.

Great visit to this excellent B&B. Located in a lovely quiet village. Our hosts were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay special. Lovely clean room in a beautiful old building perfect for a relaxing weekend. We would definitely visit again and recommend it to anyone

Spent a delightful overnight stay on our way down to Devon. Our wonderful host Surinder made us both feel so very welcome and took time to make sure we were fully briefed on the set up of the bed & breakfast (a recent Four in a Bed winner!) Surinder was keen to ensure that we had everything we needed, and indeed we did. We were impressed with the spacious car park, complete with electric gates, which meant we could relax about leaving our new car overnight! Our room was very comfortable, and it was clear, even to our untrained eye, that the new decor had been chosen with a great eye for detail and style. Our room offered - fast internet, coffee/tea facilities, roomy bathroom/shower, and a splendid view of the amazing garden which must be a delight in summer. We wished we had booked for a little longer stay - but another visit in Summer 2024 is definitely on the cards.
