It was with some trepidation that I went along to Ross Jackson Golf for a Driver fitting session. I say trepidation because I'm very self conscious of people watching me hit a golf ball, but Lewis (my fitter) put me at ease and thus we began the fitting journey. If you're the type of person like me, that is fascinated by Figures & Statistics you'll love the experience as every part of your strike is analysed in order to build a comprehensive picture of what is going on within your swing. It soon became obvious that I was playing a shaft that was far too flexible and a Driver head with too high a static loft. I was placed under no obligation to buy a replacement driver but I did, as distance, dispersion and strike was much improved overall. All this is of no consequence if the person doing the fitting doesn't have a good grasp of how to interpret the figures presented by the Trakman computer system, and Lewis was top draw, he was only to happy to explain everything and give sound advice where needed. Thank you Lewis, it was both an eye opener and a pleasure, here's to even more enjoyable golf. 😊👍

I had my first custom fit for irons today with Matthew and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I learned a lot about the various parameters of a ball in flight and what I should be looking for in a new set of irons. Matthew took me through many combinations of heads and shafts in all of the major brands and at the end I feel that we reached the right answer to the question of which are the best set of clubs for me.

I had an iron fitting this morning with Matt Fletcher and can’t speak highly enough of him. Helped massively with some swing tips also and made me feel at ease straight away. Absolutely top effort from him greatly appreciated

Had a great custom fitting experience for some Edel Wedges with Matthew Fletcher. Allowed plenty of time for me to try these out, with extra time in the short game area. Very helpful, provided advice, tips, and overall excellent service. Wedges are ordered and looking forward to using them!

Lewis took the time to measure my feet and advised me of the type of shoe that would most suit myself. There was no pressure to pick an overly expensive pair, as he went through numerous price ranges. In the end pair I settled on was not fully to the recommendation but they were so comfortable. The shoes arrived in good time and I can't wait to get on the course. Lewis was professional and his explanation of the system findings was easy to understanbut I loved the fact he gave me a range of options, from which I made my final choice. I went this morning for my free 30 minute quick fix where I was greeted with a smile by Fletch the assistant Pro. During my session I ended up getting a fitting for some new irons, I felt very relaxed knowing I was in the hands of an expert to give me helpful advice and tips. This helped me purchase irons that were more suitable to me and my game instead of getting something unsuitable that I just liked the look of. So before you spend your hard earned money I would highly recommend Ross Jackson Golf. And once again thank you Fletch :)

Spent a whole morning having driver and woods fitting with Matthew. What an amazing session and I would highly recommend him, he has in depth knowledge not only of Trackman data but all club/shaft combos, to enable you to pin down the correct specs that lead to optimal ball flight characteristics! Would not go anywhere else!

Went for a putter fitting yesterday, never been fit for a putter before but I don’t think I’d buy a putter without fitting now. Definitely learned a lot and will be back for fittings in the future

Lewis really knew his stuff and I can’t believe how detailed a putter fitting can be but the two hours flew by! Booked in for a driver next! Edit: just been back for a driver fitting with Fletch and I’ve never tried so many clubs and shafts! He was really informative to what he was looking to improve. I’ve gained 20yards carry!

Had a great custom fitting for new set of irons from matthew fletcher, very in depth and tried numerous different brands and shafts until we found the right club which suited my swing, my new custom fit irons have now improved my launch angle, spin rate, land angle and my dispersion of shots from front to back. Very happy with the custom fitting process from matthew

Had a 2 hour iron fitting with Matthew Fletcher on Sunday and he was absolutely great! Knew his stuff, didn’t have any agendas to sell certain products/brands and was very helpful and friendly. Went through most of the major club brands/shafts that suited my game and picked a winner (a shaft/head combo which wasn’t what I expected before going) but the results spoke for themselves. By changing shaft/loft I saw: -Increased club head speed -Increased ball speed -Increase of spin by nearly 1000rpm -Increased carry -Better descent angle -Much better dispersion Definitely the best fitter around the north east, can’t wait to get my new clubs! Thanks again.

I had my first custom fitting session with Matthew and was extremely impressed with his knowledge and understanding of what I needed to improve my game. We went through multiple options and every step of the way I was spoken through what the data was showing and the comparisons between my existing driver and those that I tried. I have subsequently ordered the club that Matthew recommended, and I look forward to using it on the course. I would definitely recommend a fitting here!

Can’t recommend these guys enough. I was fitted for some irons today and having never been fitted before I was a bit apprehensive but was soon put at ease by the pro (Fletch) who did the fitting, he is extremely knowledgeable and knew pretty much straight away what I was going to need however I still tried nearly every iron and shaft in the shop to make sure I picked the right set for me. A great overall experience and I will definitely be going back at some point for some new woods in the future.

My son has been custom fitted today by Matthew Fletcher at the Municipal Golf Shop, and I would like to thank Matthew for all the time and effort taken to make sure Max has the correct Driver and Hybrid to enable him to progress in his game. The process to find the correct make was by no means a quick process, a thorough intense session and fitting took place to give him the best choice for him. The care and time was invaluable. Thank you and I would highly recommend this to anyone deciding to be custom fitted they have a wealth of experience and we are very happy with our purchase.

With being newish to golf and this being my first fitting experience I was a bit nervous and apprehensive but there was no need. The guys were very welcoming and easy to get along with and obviously new their stuff. They did not push any particular brand but went through most of them in different configurations to find what irons suited me best . I felt no pressure at all and in fact enjoyed the whole experience and would highly recommend regardless of your handicap well worth it.

Just had a great iron fitting with Lewis, great set up. Lewis is extremely knowledge, friendly and relaxed . He explained the process prior to the fitting. The session was first rate, if you are looking to get fitted I can't recommend Lewis enough. Excellent service .

Following a recommendation to use Ross Jackson, I went for my first fitting yesterday and it was a good experience and I personally learnt a lot from this session. Matthew took the session and was very professional whilst being down to earth, which did help me to relax. 1 thing I did learn was that he wasn’t a salesman trying to dig deep into my wallet but more focused on fitting me with a club that suited my swing. Walking away I was very satisfied with the club and subsequently will be going back to get a set of irons fitted too. Thanks for this Matthew, keep the good work up and I will look forward to returning soon.

I really enjoyed my custom fitting experience with Matthew with both my hybrid fitting and iron fitting. I tried a large variety of clubs and shaft combinations until I found both the correct club head specifications and shafts for my swing. Matthew was very engaging and always went into detail about what I was looking to improve about my trackman numbers within the fitting and also information about each shaft and head that I was using. I am very happy about the clubs that I have been fitted for and I thank Matthew for a great fitting experience which I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get fitted for clubs.
