Tomo no Ramen has set a new bar for ramen in Bristol. Their changing menu reflects the chef's pick of the best ingredients. And it's evident in the food. We had the Sapporo Miso ramen, Kare Miso ramen as well both oyster mushroom and chicken karaage. Miso-based ramen is perfect for the cold winter months and it felt like a warm embrace with each sip of the broth. The noodles themselves had the perfect bite and the chashu was delicious - I wish there was more of it! As for the karaage, the chicken was bursting with juice and the coating was crunchy. We had the pleasure of speaking to the head chef too. He sounded very passionate about his craft having spent time in Japan. Ordering & payment is via a QR code in your phone's browser. Vegan/vegetarian options are also available. We'll be back to try next season's menu and the desserts.

Absolutely loved coming here and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. My daughter's choice for my first experience of Japanese Ramen noodles...cuisine was excellent!! My starter and meal was amazing and stunningly delicious! The staff were amazing, friendly and welcoming and the restaurant extremely funky too, you'd expect this in funky, cool and eclectic Bristol. I absolutely loved my first experience of Ramen and this restaurant is certainly one of the best serving Ramen cuisine! A big thank you to all the staff for such a great place, excellent food and a most enjoyable, memorable experience!! Highly recommended for Japanese Ramen and will be back again definitely when next in Bristol visiting my daughter...

Finding good Japanese food in Bristol is always a bit of a struggle, even after having lived here for a few years. Fortunately, you can rest assured that Tomo no Ramen does a thoroughly decent job at recreating something incredibly satisfying. If you can handle a bit of heat, go for the Kare (curry) Miso Ramen for that extra depth of flavour. 👍

I have been here a few times and I still can’t get enough. This is the best Ramen I’ve had and I’ve been to a few highly rated in London and Manhattan but this place is still the better! My husband and I recently took our toddler here too and considering how fussy she is, she managed to finish the very generous kids’ portion! Will be back again soon.

I came here on the final day of the pop up (it closed and I was sadly quite disappointed. I had heard great things about Tomo No Ramen so was excited to good, especially as I’ve followed Matsudai for a while. We got the chicken karaage, which was delicious and very juicy. We both then got a bowl of ramen - mine promised smoked mushroom and lots of deep flavour, but it was actually incredibly bland. Likewise, my partner ordered a spicy ramen and again just bland. We weren’t getting any of the punchy flavours described on the menu, and instead it just tasted like bland, generic ramen with weak broth. We had the chocolate and whisky tart for dessert which was delicious, albeit overpriced for such a small serving. All in all, the starters and desserts are all amazing. However, we were really disappointed with the ramen and almost asked for it to be removed from our bill (decided against this as it is a small business in difficult COVID times). I don’t know if we went on a bad day, or if, being people who eat a LOT of ramen in authentic Japanese restaurants, and make a lot of ramen from scratch, we maybe have higher standards than most people to whole good ramen is a novelty? I REALLY wanted to love Tomo No Ramen but we were both upset to have spent £15+ per bowl of ramen that we didn’t even want to finish. It may be worth noting that it’s a very small venue with tables very close together (some guests sharing benches). I understand this is for the communal Japanese ramen bar vibe, but I personally prefer a bit more privacy and it was a bit uncomfortable to be so compact with people during a COVID pandemic peak, so keep this in mind.

I literally thought that I was in a trip to Japan! That AUTHENTIC! We ordered: ⭐️Tori Shoyu Ramen ⭐️Chicken Karaage ⭐️Spicy Tori Shoyu Ramen Both ramen was going with light chicken broth. That was pretty amazing! TBH, they got all the right toppings for a ramen as well, that was so impressive!! ESP the ajitama egg!!!!!! The chicken was really juicy with the Japanese curry mayo! The mayo was so so nice! We both love it so so much! HIGHLY RECOMMEND to you all and we definitely going to come back (very often I guess haha we both love Japan so much) P.S. Rmb to book a table in advance to make sure you get the place!!

The best Ramen outside Japan hands down! Look no further. Tasty, attention to detail, bags of flavour and quick service. So glad to have you guys at my door step! Chicken karaage is also fantastic. :)

Absolutely amazing!! I had the ramen, and fried chicken and we shared edamame beans on the side. The ramen was delicious, the mince beef was my favorite part which complimented the coconut sauce perfectly. The fried chicken was lush! The curry mayo was insane and the chicken was perfectly cooked. The portions are very big and filling and couldn't reccomend more to ramen lovers!

Probably the best Ramen in Bristol. Really authentic flavours with regular updates to their menu. I highly recommend their chicken or mushroom Karaage starters. The team there is also super friendly. Make sure to book as it can be quite busy.

Definitely the best Ramen restaurant in Bristol. Some suggestions: the miso soup tastes a little too strong and salty; the bean spouts could be added freshly, there is no need to boil the bean spouts. Apart from these two points, everything is perfect!

Some of the best Japanese food I’ve had outside of Japan. The portion sizes are very generous and the flavours are warming and wonderful. It’s not a huge location but they’ve made it really inviting and cosy. The staff are also friendly and efficient. A little pricey but definitely worth it!

Ramen so good we would eat here everyday if we could! Both meat and vegetarian options had amazing rich broths, we tried both the mushroom and chicken karaage, and I have to say me being the meat eater, the mushroom one came out on top! Can't wait to eat here again!

Excellent ramen experience. Authentic tastes with their own personality to the ramen. The menu changes with the seasons so there's always something new to try! The chicken karaage is a fantastic, well marinaded with a unique curry sauce pairing. Service was fast and food came quickly as expected at a ramen place~

I think this is the best ramen I’ve tried in Bristol! I had the Yasai chilli ramen. I was scared that it would be too spicy for me, but I actually really enjoyed the heat. There are options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters which is great. The staff were really lovely. One of the bowls they gave us was chipped, but that was the only negative.

I have visited Tomo no Ramen twice now and each time I have been met by excellent service and delicious food! The menu is very small but each option can be changed for a vegan or vegetarian alternative, and they also have a special. The broth is very tasty and all the other elements were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend the kaarage (Japanese fried chicken) as a side!

The food was not too bad at all 👍🏼 The staffs are nice and friendly. My friend and I didn’t expect anything but turned out it was good. The taste is close to the original. However, not many ramen options and it is a ramen restaurant but there is no Tonkutsu soup. And again I think it’s quite overpriced compared to the portions.
