Following a rainy walk around Edinburgh, my husband and I were in the mood for a warm meal and stumbled upon this charming restaurant. It exceeded our expectations in every way. The decor of the establishment was tasteful and inviting, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The food was simply outstanding. We decided to try the vegan black garlic tonkotsu ramen 🍜 and share a portion of vegan Gyoza 🥟. The ramen was especially remarkable, with a thick, flavorful broth that was infused with the subtle yet delightful taste of black garlic. In fact, we enjoyed the meal so much that we plan to return during the week. On weekends, the restaurant is frequently packed, but we look forward to experiencing it again soon.

Worth the wait time to be seated. The dishes were served incredibly fast and were delicious. The seasonal apple gyoza were firm favourites. Only reason I would not give 5 stars is due to one of the staff spilling ramen into the lap and down one of my party sitting at the table, we were given an apology. Really nice spot for authentic feeling dishes.

I had this server called Cindi L. who was the sweetest lady ever. She made my experience 100 times better and the food was alright too.

Food: 10/10 Price: 10/10 Staff: 9/10 Authentic Japanese experience: 8/10 Having lived in Japan previously, I have yet to find a place other than Maki and Ramen that does authentic Tonkotsu Ramen. The time and effort that goes into each bowl, flavour and presentation-wise really shines through. If you want to try PROPER ramen, please stop by any of their establishments because you won’t be disappointed. Their side dishes, the gyoza, takoyaki and more are all delicious as well and definitely worth trying. Only recently have I tried their sushi and by far my most favourite is the grilled salmon nigiri. It was something I ate almost every day whilst living in Japan so it’s something I love to eat when I’m here too. Another I highly recommend is the soft shelled crab roll. Definitely a second favourite in my sushi list! The staff greet you in a traditional Japanese manner when entering the restaurant and you are well looked after whilst dining in. Everyone is super nice and the food is amazing. Highly recommended!

The food was mouth wateringly good. Also the mains were super quick to arrive after ordering. The restaurant itself is stunning and really well designed, plus the soundtrack while I was there seemed to be the guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack which I’m not complaining about, wasn’t expected but fun to listen to.

I got the salmon plate, three ways: sushi, sashimi and others. Which was good for the price of less than 10 quid. But a little bit more if you get a drink with it, which I did. The service was quite quick and they offered a snack and water for my dog companion. Good for a long sit down meal with family or friends and also good for a quick eat and go meal! Recommended!

I can't fault this place at all. My friend and I came in with 7mins before the kitchen closed, but they seated us quickly, and got our order in without even a hint of it being an inconvenience. The food came out quickly, and every single thing tasted amazing! They have loads of great options for vegans and vegetarians, and I can't wait to try more of them.

The food is nice but very busy place you not limited to the time but you can feel as you want to eat and go as other people queueing. A bit pricy too

Excellent find. I had the miso ramen and it was great. It was super mild, just what I needed and really hot. Big portion too with lots of noodles. We didn't have cocktails but they looked good too. This restaurant is within the shopping centre so closes about 9pm. Very clean, super friendly staff and only a short wait for a table. Good value too.

This is the second branch of Maki & Ramen I've visited in Edinburgh and it didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly and I loved the atmosphere. Allergens are clear on the menu which was helpful for my partner who is lactose intolerant. The ramen is very good, nice big portion, and packed with flavour. This restaurant is a favourite of mine now whenever I come back to Edinburgh!

Loved the food here. Lovely selection of food. From Sushi and Ramen. Had steak Ramen, tempura prawns, and chicken with rice. Seems to be very popular. Lovely atmosphere with a big cherry blossom tree. We enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed lunch at Maki & Ramen. Slightly in the expensive side but seemed standard for sushi. The menu is accessed by a QR code, my data didn't work very well so had to connect to the WiFi, was a little frustrating having to register. Something for everyone on the menu. I recommend the soft shell crab rolls and the chicken katsu curry (perfect for children). Friendly service, had to ask for side plates as we were all sharing and cutlery for the children. I would go again, I preferred it to Yo Sushi.

Excellent food and great service. Quite busy but food still came out quickly, and the staff were very friendly. Lots of choice on the menu to have small plates or big meals. Highly recommended.

I've seen a few of these around Edinburgh, so I decided to check this location out. It's more of a modern eatery, so their menu is mainly on your phone. Everything I had tasted absolutely amazing, and the two staff members who helped serve me were very kind and helpful. Highly recommended to come back again.

Got turned away from a couple places for food before coming here about an hour before they closed. Was happy to just get served and eat something. The wait staff was nice and attentive. The food was good, although a bit oily. The pork garlic was better than the chicken ramen also. The chicken had a weird spice flavor to it. Soft shell roll was good.

All dishes are delicious. Fast service. It’s not my first time to visit Maki, sometimes I just saw so many empty tables and it was quiet but no one came towards me. One of the staff Cyndi is friendly and helpful tonight. We are waiting outside, she comes to serve us immediately when she noticed us.

Food is Amazing! I feel like there’s a lot to eat and lots of vegan option for vegetarian and vegans! Me and my partner enjoyed it here and it’s about 30 mins wait! Although we sat by the door it’s alittle chilly so wrap up warm it’s a busy place! I ordered the chicken ramen. It has crispy chunks of chicken like a sweet and sour batter chicken in a miso kimchi soup based! It was lovely! She ordered the vegan katsu curry! Texture almost like chicken can’t tell! But the pumpkin croquette was a plus with the katsu!

First time visiting and I will definitely be back. Staff were lovely very attentive. Had a few starters to share and was pleasantly surprised by the pumpkin croquettes. Loved the sushi as well really fresh, I just had the "today's selection" which was so tasty however the octopus was really chewy. Love all the postits on the wall as well, a nice touch

Really nice ramen and great selection on the menu. We got a table quickly even though it was very busy and the food also arrived fast. Perfect after a long day exploring Edinburgh.

We were served by Cyndi who was absolutely such a joy. She was attentive, helpful and friendly. The Tonkutsu ramen and Tan Tan noodles were springy and broth was super intense. Worth a trip.
