A delightful experience, young and vibrant carving a niche for those who enjoy 80s throwback soundtracks attentive and caring staff and manicured plates of food. Suggested approach was to order a selection that was shared, when in fact the menu was starter, main, sweet. All good though. Whilst the plates of food are absolutely photogenic the flavours are so subtle (except the pork which was the absolute star of the show). My elderly palette required more punch, more seasoning (maybe?) If you are used to subtle flavours (Americans?) this place is definitely for you. As for the pork in the sticky sauce and kimche, it was devoured in seconds. Also celebrated that the fat was left on and beautifully charred.

Best meal in a long time. We honestly ordered everything on the food menu because we couldn’t decide! Amazing staff, outstanding food and delicious wine.

Can’t recommend this place enough! Intimate, welcoming and comfortable. The food is outstanding. We particularly enjoyed the venison, monkfish and crab. Drinks are sublime too! The staff went the extra mile to create a beverage that wasn’t on the menu, which was highly appreciated. They are attentive and very friendly!

Absolutely great experience start to finish. If I could leave more stars I would. Very intentional and thoughtful menu without pretentiousness. Straightforward but flawless and so so delicious. The menu is coursed and the perfect portion; insane value for the price as well. Start with a Negroni. Get the wine pairing. Try an oyster. And add caviar if they have the option (I imagine this varies with the menu they have at the time). Also: the ambience is great. The music is the right volume and tempo. Perfect lighting. Comfortable seating and just really well done. The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable and the pacing was perfect. I’m just so happy we came here tonight. Looking forward to our next visit.

Very high quality tasting menu with some really tasty dishes, but unfortunately fell short of a 5 star review for me. I had the standard set menu, at the time of writing - they apparently change everything on the menu on a rolling basis roughly every 5 weeks, while my wife had a few substitutions. They were actually very good on substitutions, with the entire menu being available for vegetarians, and some of them legitimately looked better than the meat dishes! Best dish was the barbecued octopus which just right amount of charred smokiness around the buttery meat. Really tasty. However the main course was a bit disappointing (just didn't really stand out, rare pork cut was cold), the cheese dish didn't pair well (needed something acidic to cut against the cheese, disjointed, felt a bit thrown together) and the dessert was nice but the portion size wasn't in keeping with the rest of the menu - almost felt like a last ditch attempt to ensure customers come away feeling full. In general it felt like too much meat, and I would have liked to see more dishes where meat is paired/balanced with a vegetable instead of just being a garnish. It has a bar-like atmosphere, which might appeal to some, where the music is a bit too loud (though, to be fair, they were playing some great tunes...) to have a normal volume conversation, and the high bar-stool seating gets a bit uncomfortable after a while. Service also felt rushed that actually they didn't have time to stick around after they barrelled through the dish description and that asking how you found it felt perfunctory. Like, yeah, the waiter's not your friend, but you come to a restaurant like this to stimulate the senses. Overall, food good, but not sure the establishment is our style.

Decorated with warmly earth tone vibe, Eleanore offers the lunch deals and I choose it for my farewell lunch for a friend of mine. The menu periodically changes. Starters: the spenwood cheese croquette is so captivating and wonderful. The sourdough brioche is too dense and quite heavy for me. The main course : Coq au vin, the chicken is very tender coupled with the sauce and ingredients. This dish is impressive. The dessert with raspberry mascarpone pleasantly deliver complex texture but also wonderful in my mouth. I think Eleanore dessert is preferable than its sister brand. The service is acceptably standard but personally there is a sense of perfunctoriness in some staffs’ gestures while doing a service. Still recommended to visit for savvy foodies and Michelin’s followers.

Was visiting Edinburgh last weekend and had dinner at Eleanore, the set menu with paired wines was delicious! Amazing service and they were also really good with offering gluten free options, would recommend for coeliacs. It is a small restaurant on a fairly busy street so there’s a bit of traffic noise, but still really enjoyable.

Lovely spot for a romantic lunch or dinner. Well prepared seafood centric dishes and a well thought out selection of drinks with a helpful and warm service that was always present. I particularly enjoyed the amouse and oysters.

Casual and light atmosphere but elegant and delicious food. Great value for the quality and amount of food on the tasting menu. The courses built upon each other very well with lighter starters leading to the richness of the hogget and the dessert, a tiramisu/choux mashup - probably my favorite two courses of the night. Played great tunes and friendly staff to boot.

Cozy atmosphere in a tiny space with high chairs and wooden tables. Dishes are creative and delicious. Hake was cooked to perfection. Dessert was sublime. Service is to be improved greatly. Waitress was helpful, waiter quite strange… nobody helped with drinks.

What an amazing place!!!! The restaurant is very small, but not a problem at all - in fact it added to it's charm, especially as we got chatting to the couple next to us who were on a special night out. The food is served tapas style, but the portions are generous - in fact, by the time we got to the "main" we were nearly beat!! The dishes were very imaginative and in our party of 5 we had one vegetarian, two of us didn't do "hot/spicy" food and others didn't do shellfish. Nobody went hungry that is for sure. Each dish was imaginative and a few had ingredients that we were sceptical about or surprised to see together. Once tasted - amazing. Apparently the menu changes regularly which is always a good sign. One of our guests had previously owned a wine business and she picked two bottles of outstanding white and red wine which were fairly priced. The staff were brilliant, very knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Speaking to the Manager when paying the bill, I got the impression that everyone who worked there really enjoyed their jobs and were proud of what they were doing - that makes a huge difference. Eleanore is definitely a hidden gem. Thank you to everyone at Eleanore for an outstanding evening.

Such a beautiful and amazing experience the menu was modern and the food was out of this world , well on their way to getting a Michelin star and we'll deserved if you're in Edinburgh and want an intimate and memorable experience. Will definitely be returning on my next trip to Edinburgh.
