Very
high
quality
tasting
menu
with
some
really
tasty
dishes,
but
unfortunately
fell
short
of
a
5
star
review
for
me.
I
had
the
standard
set
menu,
at
the
time
of
writing
-
they
apparently
change
everything
on
the
menu
on
a
rolling
basis
roughly
every
5
weeks,
while
my
wife
had
a
few
substitutions.
They
were
actually
very
good
on
substitutions,
with
the
entire
menu
being
available
for
vegetarians,
and
some
of
them
legitimately
looked
better
than
the
meat
dishes!
Best
dish
was
the
barbecued
octopus
which
just
right
amount
of
charred
smokiness
around
the
buttery
meat.
Really
tasty.
However
the
main
course
was
a
bit
disappointing
(just
didn't
really
stand
out,
rare
pork
cut
was
cold),
the
cheese
dish
didn't
pair
well
(needed
something
acidic
to
cut
against
the
cheese,
disjointed,
felt
a
bit
thrown
together)
and
the
dessert
was
nice
but
the
portion
size
wasn't
in
keeping
with
the
rest
of
the
menu
-
almost
felt
like
a
last
ditch
attempt
to
ensure
customers
come
away
feeling
full.
In
general
it
felt
like
too
much
meat,
and
I
would
have
liked
to
see
more
dishes
where
meat
is
paired/balanced
with
a
vegetable
instead
of
just
being
a
garnish.
It
has
a
bar-like
atmosphere,
which
might
appeal
to
some,
where
the
music
is
a
bit
too
loud
(though,
to
be
fair,
they
were
playing
some
great
tunes...)
to
have
a
normal
volume
conversation,
and
the
high
bar-stool
seating
gets
a
bit
uncomfortable
after
a
while.
Service
also
felt
rushed
that
actually
they
didn't
have
time
to
stick
around
after
they
barrelled
through
the
dish
description
and
that
asking
how
you
found
it
felt
perfunctory.
Like,
yeah,
the
waiter's
not
your
friend,
but
you
come
to
a
restaurant
like
this
to
stimulate
the
senses.
Overall,
food
good,
but
not
sure
the
establishment
is
our
style.
