How can you not give it five stars I could really do with a donation bucket at the end of the tour. Very insightful and you get to learn a lot for nothing even if they put a voluntary donation it would definitely be worth it. Our tour guide had a trainee badge on but it was like he had been doing it all for years. Really recommend it. Wish I could give it 10 stars.

You should do it just because its free. But then you’ll be amazed how entertaining the tour guides are and how well they know the city and its history. There were a lot of people taking the tour but luckily they divided everyone up into 3 groups with 3 different guides. I did a day trip from London and this tour and the Roman Baths are all you need to get a good sense of the city.

Took the Mayor's guide walking tour around Bath today and had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was extremely professional and very knowledgable about the city. We went around all the major landmarks of the city and were treated with stories & history of each. The tour was completely free and the guides refused to take even tips.

Amazing tour, can't believe these guides give up their time for free for us - they're really knowledgeable and dedicated. The pace was good, loads of interesting info and a range of locations of interest covered. Our guide was Maggie.

All the other reviews are correct: Free, no tips accepted, and the guides are fabulously knowledgeable. Our 10:30AM group was large enough that we were split into 4 groups, and our guide was Mike K. He was informative, giving some historical context (love the banner with timelines that his wife sewed - given my limited understanding of English history it was enormously helpful additional information) and just charming. I gained a deeper appreciation for the architecture and some of the subtleties around choices they made in building them. He shared some extra tidbits about Bridgerton locations (and how the producers managed the buskers during filming so everyone was happy). Well done, Mike K - since I can't tip you, I can applaud your excellent tour here instead!

I recommend this tour to everyone, yes, residents too!! Incredible details of streets you might overlook and great facts and stories of the most well known features of Bath, like the Abbey and Royal Crescent, will leave you baffled with how much history can all fit in such a small city. Had the astounding Jeremy (a.k.a. “Terry”, if you don’t like him, haha) as our tour guide and could not have asked for anyone better. He lead us through this amazing city with charisma and knowledge and throughout the tour gave us even more adventures to seek out in Bath! Do you want to explore Bath and it’s great sights but don’t know where to start because everything is so terrific? This tour is for you! And come on, it’s completely free ;)

Our 10:30AM group, outside the pump rooms, was made up of a wide demographic nationalities and age range, and our guide was Andy. He was helpful, informative and charming. Great, free, lots of information, friendly, answering all the questions you might have. For me the only negative thing is that it doesn't take longer to show me the whole city but for asking...:)
