Came here for cocktails and had some starters, both were absolutely delicious! Very friendly atmosphere, Sarah is such a friendly host!

Not what we expected based on all of the rave reviews. Very nice host but the food was just ok and it was absolutely freezing in the back because of the wind coming from the steep toilet hallway. And where we sat you could faintly smell the toilets. This was not a 4.8 restaurant. But again, very nice people and it was decorated very nicely.

First time visiting Babylon and we will definitely be returning! Gorgeous food and exceptional customer service by Zara. She made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Would definitely recommend visiting.

Perfect taste and very kind personel. The owner is from Turkey. We liked pizza and chicken gyro. Size is more than enough! The atmosphere is fine. The only downside side is service fee . I personally do not like having it on my bill as default

I went here last week for a birthday meal and it was great! Great service, pretty environment and very friendly staff! We were welcomed and seated pretty much as soon as we walked in and the waiting time for the food was decent! Zara who was serving us was lovely, such a great service! We weren’t waiting too long and the food was also really good. The burger I had was delicious and the fries were good too! I especially loved the little pot of sauce that came with the meal! The meal was also beautifully presented! Very friendly and welcoming place that serves really nice food! Definitely recommend :)

Called here for lunch yesterday when wandering around York with the kids. Had a wonderful meal. Gyros were lovely and the kids enjoyed the proper pizza's! The only thing we did not like was the compulsory service charge added onto the bill. This is something that grinds on me. We are always happy to tip if the service is good, but being forced to pay a service charge is not something we are used to.

We came to york all the way from Birmingham to have a little break and see the Christmas markets. By the time we had arrived a lot of the food on Christmas Market were closing so we decided to wonder around and see what we could grab to eat at almost 8pm! Stumbled across this place and must say what an absoutley little gem it is. From the decor creating a cosy atmosphere and the food was just unreal. The price was reasonable and delicious from every bite start to finish. We are food critics and have ate at many Michelin star restaurants and can honestly say this is very tasty food and authentic. The staff were super friendly, very welcoming and engaging. Would highly recommend 👌 this place needs needs more recognition, it really was superb. We would definitely return.

We found this place by chance to escape from the pouring rain, but we felt so lucky once we ordered! The food was so delicious, the atmosphere was very authentic, the staff were extremely friendly. We ordered Turkish meatballs and pizza- all turned out really amazing. We also had cheesecake- it was so delicious that I only remembered to take its photo when we ate half of it. :) Absolutely will visit again!

Lovely gyros, falafel and salads. Generous measures of wine and friendly service make this a great place for food and drink. Also being dog friendly makes this a top place! Recommended.

We went early evening on a Friday and it was very quiet. Seated straight away, quick service. Food was good - what you'd expect from a kebab place but quite pricey. Halal too which was a bonus.

Feel lucky to find this wonderful family run restaurants. 4 of us and 2 well behaved dogs. The chef (owner) offered me a bespoke pizza. Well worth popping in.

Service was fast, employees were nice. Chips were the best part of the meal. Rest of the food was dripping with grease. Also charged us an extra £4 for cheese on chips that came with the meal. Wouldn't recommend unless you're plastered drunk

A must try place for halal food in York, owner was extremely friendly and food was 10/10. I ordered the meaty pizza and swapped out the ham for spicy beef as the ham isn't halal there, and the Mrs had the homemade lasagna which was also delicious. Shop was extremely cosy and clean highly recommended for an amazing halal restaurant in York city centre.

Great food great staff. Only planned on having a drink because when we passed by it just looked like being abroad. The place really makes you feel like your sat in a little family ran restaurant in the Mediterranean. We had the chicken gyro pizza that was top tier lovely meet and lovely taste. The staff were attentive and caring and made us feel like we were regulars. Will visit again and hope them all the best. A little bit of Holliday on the doorstep of the shambles. Spot on.

Very delsiouse and authentic food. The best Shawarma in York. The juice is amazing and very friendly staff . Really enjoyed the food.

Amazing place with good food and even excellent service. We went for lunch here and had the most delicious pizzas, lasagne and chicken skewers. Since we were a big group, some members got their food a bit later than the others which was compensated by free repeat drinks and shots🙂. The owner of this place is a cheerful, friendly guy and we absolutely enjoyed our time here. Hope to be back next time we are in York.
