A must to visit and well worth the entrance fee as car parking is free. Coming out from the visitor centre, the doors opened and it was like entering a secret garden on a large scale. It was beautiful, it was apparent from the onset how well looked after and immaculate the grounds were. I took my Mam for the day and we thoroughly enjoyed our bit selves. From the well maintained paths (both gravelled and grassed), stunning views across meadow areas, walks in amongst the vast varieties of different species of trees, well positioned seats to rest and appreciate your surroundings, interesting and informative boards - it caters for all. We were able to borrow a disability buggy free of charge which allowed access to all areas. It was great that Mam was able to come with myself and my two dogs and be able to experience this for herself, something she couldn't have done otherwise. A lovely way for her to be involved and included. She was like a dog with two tails herself as she was able to explore the different pathways. It was brilliant that there was no charge for this facility. As part of our visit we had lunch in the cafe and later stopped again for refreshments. The food was really tastey and different to the norm with staff who went out of their way to be helpful. We are looking forward to planning our next trip to see the changes throughout the different seasons. I would really recommend a visit!

A lovely place to walk. The colours will be spectacular in the Autumn. Was a little surprised that more use wasn’t made of the open spaces such as sculptures. Paths are level and suitable for wheelchairs and those with mobility issues. The walk around the lake is beautiful seeing all kinds of wildlife including some huge, beautifully coloured dragonflies. Lots of places to sit and be at one with nature. Light bites available at the cafe and nice little gift shop. Ample free parking. Well recommended

Great space with a large variety of trees, peaceful walks with water. There's a nice cafe that did vegan cakes and soup and a small shop by the entrance.

A fantastic green space with plenty to explore. So many spring flowers and bulbs. Dogs are welcome except for the Squirrel enclosure but there are plenty of water bowls dotted about and areas marked to let them off their leads. There are only 3 squirrels at the moment so you may not see them but you can visit as often as you like. There is a gravel path with grass paths shooting off so walking boots are not necessary.

Lovely place for a beautiful walk, unfortunately it was raining. We went to see the squirrels.

A lovely spot and amazing to see plenty of red squirrels, dispite damp conditions, and a variety of small birds. We also had a nice wander in the grounds afterwards. The food choice in the cafe seemed very basic and pricey, so we decided to eat elsewhere, though it was nice that there was a cafe if in urgent need of a cuppa or somesuch. Toilets and a decent amount of parking were also available.

Lovely place for a good walk. It was very hot the day we went but the red squirrels were still active as their enclosure was shaded. Cafe is lovely and a good selection of food and drinks available . The lake was lovely to walk around but could do with more benches in the shadier spots. The only downside was the gift shop. Poor selection available really for a tourist attraction

Amazing place to explore the trees and the unique features of the wide range of species on display. Good any time of year but particularly during autumn. Very spacious, calm and relaxed environment. Highly recommended.

Visited here in April and it's one of the most beautiful places in the UK. There was so much wildlife and nature to see and it was a huge place. We went on a weekday so it was lovely and peaceful. Highly recommended a visit.

Beautiful Autumn colour at the Arboretum. Just lovely for a wander around the trees . There is a small cafe with limited menu and a dog walking area, the rest of the site is dogs on leads.

A really relaxing place for a stroll. A great place to take all the family (inc dogs) with a special off-lead area for doggos. An abundance of benches and loads of space to explore. The cafe has a wide range of well priced home-made items. The adult entry fee is £8 each with gift aid which is better value for money if you plan to stay for a good few hours.

A place we had wanted to vist for some time, we booked our tickets on line, so we could be guaranteed a trip into the red squirrel enclosure, the lady on the desk was very friendly and helpful, telling us about the youngest squirrels, there are plenty of walks, the range of different trees is amazing, most are named a trip to the lake is a must, plenty of places to sit as well, dogs are welcome but can only go of lead in certain areas all in all a great place for walk and a pinic, there is a small cafe and toilet facilities.

Lovely day out with the boys and the dog! Amazing cakes in the cafe too, with a tub of doggy ice cream after a nice walk.

Wonderful day out. Gorgeous planting, especially the wildflower areas where dozens of native orchids could be seen. Lunch was absolutely delicious from the cafe. A little pricey if you have a family. Lots of areas for picnics though.

This is an amazing place, full of mystery and hidden gems whatever time of year. From Spring blossoms, Summer fields of flowers, Autumn colours and fungi. Then there's the Red Squirrels! Boy what a treat as Eric the male scuttles round your feet in search of hazelnuts! Not to be missed! Would advise booking a slot to see the Squirrels during peak times.

Lovely place for a stroll amongst the trees and to see the red squirrels. The only downsides are that the place is basically planted in a bog. So wear suitable footwear. We went with hiking boots, but in places, wellingtons would have been a better bet. Also, the café was v.busy, as it was a nice sunny day, so there was a 50-minute wait for hot food, but a lot of the cold food had already sold out! So we were kinda stuck betwixt a rock n a hard place. Thankfully they refilled our tea pot, so at least we got to drink 5 cups of tea .. each!

A beautiful undiscovered gem. Had the most amazing autumnal walk in amongst the trees and around the little lake. It was so peaceful as I hardly saw anyone and those I did meet always greeted me with a smile and a friendly hello. Lovely cafe too which had delious homemade cakes. Plenty of parking spaces. Even saw a pheasant and a peacock. Can't wait to return.
