A fascinating bronze age mine, which changed the way we look at British history. Self guided tour, which takes about an hour. Ticket prices are a bit steep, but we enjoyed it none the less. Be advised that the tunnels can get quite tight at times. There is a small souvenir shop and car park.

A Must see for anyone interested in Ancient history. Our tour guide recommended this site as we were staying in Llandudno. The site surpassed expectations and you only get to see a small fragment of the caves! They have a wonderful museum that explains the site and what an important find it was. The main chamber was so massive that it was hard to capture how impressive it was in a photo. Go see for yourself and be amazed at how prehistoric peoples carved these huge caverns out by hand.

Uncovered in 1987 during a scheme to landscape an area of the Great Orme, the copper mines discovered represent one of the most astounding archaeological discoveries of recent times. Dating back 4,000 years to the Bronze Age they change our views about the ancient people of Britain and their civilized and structured society 2,000 years before the Roman invasion. Over the past 28 years mining engineers, cavers and archaeologists have been slowly uncovering more tunnels and large areas of the surface landscape to reveal what is now thought to be the largest prehistoric mine, so far discovered in the world. Come and see for yourself and explore tunnels mined over 3,500 years ago

A must Go attraction! Highly recommended. You can walk into an ancient mines. Feeling adventurous but not too difficult. No matter kids or teens, definitely, they are excited. One suggestion is to wear a pair proper shoes or hiking ones as the floor in the mines is slippery.

Very informative self guided tour and very interesting walk inside the mine, £10.5 is a bit overpriced but it is worth a visit. This was definitely the highlight of my trip to llandudno

Well did enjoy our trip?! my grandchildren were well and truly awed by the place lots of giggles and a few nervous screams lol. I'm just sorry that I forgot to fetch my card with me to go into the very reasonably priced gift shop!! No really it was and there was a really good second hand book shop too!

This is a great place. The shop has loads of books about Wale's history, place names and places to go... maps of walks and cycle rides, all the the tourist stuff and loads of stones and jewellery items. Really is something for everyone. The exhibition is eye opening... The conditions that the people worked in and the ingenuity they had is incredible. The exhibits, videos and text around the site were interesting and educational. The chance to actually go unethical and see where they mined was fantastic... It really Bright to life the scary and dark and damp conditions kids as young as 5 worked in underground. Well worth a visit.

Very interesting place, makes you think how advanced we were back then. The tunnels are narrow and not for anyone clostrophobic. Whilst you only get to go through about 200 mtrs of the tunnels, it's enough to give you and impression of how it felt. Even worse when you think all you had back then was an animal fat lamp. The introduction room and short film gives you some detail about the site, but doesn't overload you with too many facts. You don't spend too long here. I would say Two hours max , but a good place to visit. You can access it by road, or if you want you can go by tram from Llandudno. The midway station stops just across the road from it, before heading a few hundred metres up to the top.

Too expensive for what it is. Incredible history to think what was achieved - but for a self guided tour it should be set to a cheaper price point. You walk down to levels 1 and 2 which really doesn't take too long, the rest you see from the surface level. We read all of the information on offer and watched the two videos available. I would say we were there no longer than an hour, family of 4, £28.50 gone.

WoW .. this place is definitely worth a visit. The tunnels are awesome, and the history behind the place is interesting. It is narrow and steep in places, but not as daunting as you might think. There are handrails and plenty of safety precautions..
