Just done the "How to do Archaeology" course - absolutely brilliant. It was an online course with a very active Study Group and Mentors, and encouraged you to do your own archaeological test pit at home in your garden which gave a very personal practical aspect to the course, giving an even greater understanding of the principles involved. Highly recommended for anyone with even the slightest inkling of an interest in archaeology or hunting down history, local or otherwise.

Just completed a six week online Dig Ventures course 'How to do Archaeology'. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and have learnt so much. The resources were very interesting and the support of fellow students and the online Dig Ventures team was always encouraging. Look forward to attending another course some time. Many thanks.

I've been taking the online How to do Archaeology course with DigVentures over the past six weeks and it has been brilliant. There's so much to learn and the people running the course are great. I particularly like the friendliness and gentle humour - DigVentures certainly makes archaeology accessible to all - and my fellow students have been very friendly and encouraging too. So if you've always fancied doing a bit of archaeology now's your chance. I know you won't regret it and might even - like me - choose to dig your own test pit in your back garden. Now I need to decide whether to fill it in or make it into a wildlife pond!

Just completed the How to do Archaeology course with DigVentures. Loved it. Great course and resources and a lovely study group which you can connect with over Facebook. Very supportive with subject matter experts who can help you with any of the finer points, and you can study at your own pace. Loved it so much I've now started the Photogrammetry course too. So looking forward to the end of lockdown and getting onto a site somewhere to put my new found knowledge into action. Thanks DigVentures!

I've just finished the DigVentures 6 week How to do Archaeology course. Having been interested in the subject for many years, decided to take advantage of their free offer to gain more insight into the methods, tools & techniques. I thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone. You don't need any previous academic experience, just access to the DigVentures web site & a few hours each week. As well as gaining knowledge & understanding about practical methods & techniques, you gain access to a treasure trove of online resources, libraries & maps, fascinating virtual tours of amazing archaeogical sites & even a weekly virtual pub quiz. Suitable for all ages, you'll also become part of a growing family of like minded people via the Facebook Study Group; & a certificate at the end.

I just completed a free six week course on archaeology offered by DigVentures during the lockdown. It was absolutely fantastic, and I cannot recommend DigVentures enough and am so grateful that they shared this huge amount of knowledge for free! I look forward to further courses, and hey, maybe one day I'll even get down and dirty in one of their excavations. If you love archaeology, check them out.

Even from across the pond, DigVentures has taught me so much about archaeology. So much, in fact, that i decided to go back to school to get a degree in the subject. Their staff is kind and supportive along with being experts in their fields. I’ve especially loved the How To Do Archaeology class and the FaceBook study group to be able to connect with staff and fellow students regarding questions. Check them out, they’re AMAZING!

Started a 6-week online introductory archaeology course with the DigVentures team, and I've enjoyed every aspect of it. The great community spirit, the light-hearted approach to learning, the humour, the knowldge, the whole thing! Having been a fan of TV archaeology since I was a kid, this has now given me the push I needed to get out there and get some hands-on experience and to be more involved in both my local and the wider archaeology community! Thanks DV!
