Great
visitor
facilities,
friendly
well
informed
staff/volunteers
and
views
of
ospreys!
Can’t
recommend
highly
enough,
we
popped
in
on
a
weekend
in
the
summer
holidays,
and
found
parking
easy.
There
is
a
fee
(£6
per
adult)
to
enter,
but
this
goes
direct
to
the
charity
and
site
care
so
no
quibbles
there.
Plenty
of
parking,
and
loads
of
electric
car
chargers,
which
was
nice
to
see.
The
cafe
itself
was
excellent,
with
homemade
loose
leaf
teas,
coffees
(with
gluten
and
dairy
free
milks!),
milkshakes
and
food;
all
reasonably
priced.
I
had
quiche
of
the
day
(delicious),
which
was
generously
portioned
and
came
with
a
varied
and
well
dressed
salad.
The
site
itself
is
nicely
setup.
At
the
entrance,
there
are
live
cameras
which
show
the
ospreys
nest
and
perch;
so
you
can
see
if
they’re
home!
And
there
are
also
a
set
of
screens
showing
last
footage
of
the
beavers
which
are
on
site
(you
likely
won’t
see
these,
as
they
are
crepuscular/come
out
in
the
evenings).
I
would
recommend
checking
out
the
cinema
room
upstairs,
which
showed
footage
of
the
ringing
of
the
juvenile
ospreys.
There
is
then
a
nice
walk
along
a
boardwalk
to
a
the
osprey
viewing
tower,
which
has
a
number
of
scopes
trained
on
the
nest,
so
you
can
see
even
without
binoculars,
and
numerous
well
informed
volunteers.
Keep
an
eye
out
on
the
walk,
as
there
are
common
lizards
that
bask
on
the
boardwalk
(especially
the
black
sides).
The
volunteers
and
staff
were
lovely
and
answered
so
many
of
my
endless
questions,
with
enthusiasm!
There
is
also
a
small
shop
area
in
the
entrance,
with
books
and
osprey
related
items
for
sale,
as
well
as
local
produce:
chutney,
beer;
binoculars
and
coasters
etc.
