We normally come to harpers for breakfasts and for an evening we like a cocktail. So just on that we thought it would be a great evening for new years eve. They advertised come and join us for new year expecting something special, however there was absolutely nothing special at all about the evening. I recieved raw chicken for my starter which then made me struggle to eat my main. My husband got blue steak that he didnt ask for and we didnt even recieve the coffee and chocolate's at the end which are part of the set menu. We could hear multiple people complain and Staff were arguing at the bar so For a new year it was pretty pants. Home by 9.30pm just really deflating evening. Dissapointed . We are really really sad to be leaving this review as we normally love the place. Not a great start for our new year :(

Great value room with excellent facilities. Very clean and comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and the food was well cooked and very tasty. Excellent friendly service from Mel and her colleagues. We were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend this place.

I popped in for lunch, as I had a voucher to use. I was greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of staff, Karyna, who settled me at a nice table. Good choice of steakhouse food at sensible prices even before a discount! The ribeye steak was perfectly cooked and delicious and the white/dark chocolate mousse was naughty but wonderful! Excellent service, and when possible, I shall definitely visit again.

We booked afternoon tea for 40 on the upper level with terrace, following a Memorial Service. A first for the place!! Food was excellent. Venue brilliant for a warm sunny day. It is light and airy, service was attentive and unobtrusive. As special thank you to Mel, Sam and Karyna. Jennifer & Gary

The rooms are so comfortable. The air con was welcome and the bed was the comfiest I've slept in for a while. The soundproofing is outstanding - you would never know you were sleeping opposite a station and above a road. We had a meal in the bar area, which was also very good and a delicious breakfast in the morning. The staff were lovely and welcoming and we would happily stay here again.

AMAZING STAFF! AND HOTEL! Stayed in the hotel for 2 weeks. The hotel is so clean, comfortable and friendly. The staff are amazing. So friendly and can not do enough to help you and make you feel welcome. Mel the assistant manager was so helpful with everything I needed as I didn't know the area and could not do enough to help with that and all inquires. So polite and friendly. Genuine kind manager which is so hard to come across! The bar and restaurant staff Cindy and Terri I had the privilege of meeting was the same. Lovely and friendly. They could not help me enough to help to make my stay feel so welcome and comfortable. Food was absolutely gorgeous and beautifully presented, breakfast and dinner i enjoyed thoroughly. Well done to all. 5☆ for staff and hotel. Would and will stay again.

I had a fantastic experience at Harpers Steak House in Haslemere! Mel, our server, was incredibly friendly and attentive. The food was both delicious and served promptly, and the prices were reasonable. Plus, we had the place almost to ourselves, which made it feel like a VIP private dining experience. Can't wait to return!

Had a lovely evening meal at Harpers, service was really good. The food was very good and so was the cocktails. I don’t live near Haslemere but would certainly recommend anyone visiting Haslemere to give Harpers a try. Thank you for a lovely evening meal and drinks.

Lovely room. Quiet and very comfortable and great breakfast spread. And Mel and her staff were so very accommodating and friendly, bending over backwards to help in any way, including squeezing us into a very busy evening meal and sorting out our booking for our next visit with our dog.

Great reception by the waiter, found us good seats with our little one and the table was ready set and tidy. Food was good, rump steak was cooked just perfect but the crown jewel were the chunky chips…Must say the chips are some of the best I have ever had in a long time. Well done. We went lunch time during week so we ate at the offer rather than the main menu which was reasonable. Thanks.

Just spent three nights here in one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The room was fabulous, clean, a variety of teas & coffee, air con, sound proof glazing, wonderful bathroom, spotless! The breakfast was amazing, free parking (make sure you enter your car regn on arrival and the manager was incredibly helpful and efficient. Extremely guys price AND dog friendly in the bar and bedrooms! Thank you for a great stay!

Went for lunch with friends. The food was ok. Our server was Terri. She was professional, polite and respectful while being fun at the same time. Her knowledge of the food items on the menu was good and definitely helped me with my choices. The sticky chicken was amazing although the rest of the food didn't live up to my expectation but the ambience and service were so good that I will definitely be back.

Was looking for accommodation in the area for one night close to the Haslemere train station and was very happy with my choice. On arrival, the hostess was very welcoming and the room was clean and nicely furnished. Also ate in the bar on evening of arrival and food/service was very good. No hesitation in recommending Harper's in Haslemere.

We stayed for one night and I met my uncle and Aunt for a meal in the evening. Steaks and burgers were good. The service was exemplary. My uncle required a table in a more private area due to a medical condition and also in close proximity to the main door and toilets as he has mobility issues. Mel couldn’t have been more helpful and dealt with both my uncle and aunt’s requests in an empathetic manner. They also wanted the music turned down and Mel arranged for the speaker on the ceiling above the table ti be turned off. Thank you Mel for your patience. Bedroom 14 at the back was very quiet. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Thank you again for a lovely stay.

We stayed in a lovely room, with a furnished private patio. The room was clean and the bed was lush. We slept really well. Carmel checked us in and served our dinner. She was efficient, polite and friendly. I nearly forgot to say that the cocktails were amazing.

Warm, friendly, lively, ideal! Mel & Teri served at a 50th special surprise party and completely made the evening for us all. :) Great company, perfect service (they even helped film the big surprise), excellent cocktail mixing and fantastic sense of humour. Harper's was already a good place but Mel & Teri made it even better. THANK YOU.

First time coming here, walked in immediately greeted with an unfriendly welcome, bar staff were pretty rude and not very helpful, not very good knowledge of the taste profiles on the beer. Upstairs terrace horrible view and all heat lamps broken. Awful pour on the pint tastes very watery. Would not recommend coming in for the drinks but food looked nice, toilets were clean and well looked after though. Doubt we will be returning. L pub + carti better (Mic drop) 🔥🤘

I go here often just to work on the laptop for a bit. Brunch foods are great and WiFi is decent. Slightly more expensive than other Haslemere spots, but then it's often quieter if you need to work.

While the manager was initially not overly welcoming (we arrived early), which influenced our decision about where to eat, in the end he was very helpful indeed, allowing us to store our bikes in a spare room, rather than in our room, which we really appreciated. The room (where we slept) was lovely, apart from the broken toilet seat! The young lad who worked in the bar was extremely helpful, allowing us to store our bags in the cellar until we were allowed to check in (3pm), even helping us lug them up & down the steps, again much appreciated, as we are here (from Australia) for 5 months, so have quite a bit of gear!

Good rooms, mine was with its own patio great for sitting outside in the evening. Good food and service spoiled on last morning, the hotel breakfast customers having to wait over an hour for the breakfasts. Priority had been given to a group of a dozen or so visiting scouts rather than the residents, as a result of which I am sure they have lost several future customers.

Two words - ALL CORRECT Stayed one night at Harpers Haslemere and was really impressed. Every single staff my friends and I engaged with, the Manager Michael, his assistant Daniel, Mel House keeper were welcoming, kind, polite and very helpful. They really took good care of us. Thanks Michael, Daniel and Mel. The rooms were nice and the beds were really comfy. Had a really restful night and woke up to some sumptuous breakfast - nice fluffy scrambled eggs, the bacon was perfect not too salty and guess what, we had a home size mug for tea. Definitely coming back. Plus it's right opposite the station. What more can one ask for. Mimi

👍 Very cosy restaurant, staff are welcoming! Food is delicious and tasty. One suggestion would be to improve the continental breakfast as during my stay it was a bit dry (e.g. the pancakes and buns for example).
