My fiancé and I stayed here last night and the owner was so welcoming and kind! She asked us what we were planning whilst in the town and we explained that we were going to a wedding so we’d be later back to the hotel. She told us it was not a problem as the room key has a fob so she showed us how it works and was just all around lovely! Breakfast was also delicious! Definitely will be staying here again in the future if we go back to the area!

We had a fantastic time at the Unicorn and we highly recommend. I organised a suprise 40th birthday party for my wife and family. Lynsey was a great help throughout from booking, menu choices and on the day. The whole hotel team put on great food and drink and were so welcoming. desserts and pizza especially delicious ooh and the pork baps 😋 All the family loved the food and I am sure we will return in future for meals. thank you again. 😊

Really enjoyed our stay here, all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Rooms are lovely and clean, and the food was lovely too. Also beautiful scenery in the surrounding area, highly recommended.

Stayed here after a wedding at Glyngynwydd Wedding Barn. Easy check-in. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and spacious, had a tea/coffe station with plenty of stock and some biscuits, a good size fridge with a glass bottle of milk and bottled water. Nice big bath. Bed was super comfy! I actually checked the pillow labels so I could order some for home. We didnt stay for breakfast as we left early in the morning to get back home, but would stay again if we were in the area. Thanks :-)

A small friendly hotel (just 7 rooms) with comfortable rooms which were quirkily decorated in a modern way. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.

Absolutely love staying here. Great people, great food, lovely comfortable rooms and everything we could wish for in this perfect location. We'll be back.

Wow, what a stunning little hotel. Lovely relaxed atmosphere led by efficient, helpful staff, and absolutely gorgeous, beautifully presented food that looks as good as it tastes. Immaculate room and beds that felt nigh on perfect. Two minor (and I mean minor) nitpicks - one is the lack of dedicated parking, but not difficult to find a space, if not outside, in the public car park just round the corner. The other was the piercing blue 'off' LED on the heating controls being quite bright when trying to get to sleep. If they are the biggest gripes tho, I hope that shows how good everything else was. A good 4.5 stars - and look forward to next time 🙂

I am unable to rate the rooms at The Unicorn as I went for lunch. The lunch service was exceptional and the food was well cooked, plentiful and tasty. The Unicorn is in a beautiful area of mid Wales within easy reach of the Rhayader and Clywedog Dams. If you do go for lunch be sure to book.
