😠 Overpriced gym, always full of people and hard to get onto equipment. Cleanliness is poor considering the super high prices. I always found the changing rooms to have mud on the floors and no shower gel/ shampoo. Also, be careful you don’t get fined £100 for parking in the car park. The gym contract... People often mention classes, club, month,

Overpriced gym, always full of people and hard to get onto equipment. Cleanliness is poor considering the super high prices. I always found the changing rooms to have mud on the floors and no shower gel/ shampoo. Also, be careful you don’t get fined £100 for parking in the car park. The gym contract sneakily states that health club members can’t use the car park (without paying) even after charging £60+ a month!! Wouldn’t recommend to anybody, there are cheaper and better gyms in the area. Very disappointing.

The classes and instructors are good. However, they make this place/business all about MONEY making and restricted policy almost like a military control, no heart for customers…… We suddenly had our car engine fail and unable to be fixed, leaving us without transport. We live quite far away from Falmouth and not being able to commute to the gym until we can manage to get a new car. We remember that the gym can pause the membership for a short while. This is the third week of the month. We called to ask for a pause, and they said it needed to be informed for a pause a calendar month ahead. Yes, I understand, but this is an accidental consequence. Policy is the one thing, but for a service business sometimes being helpful and compassionate also play a valuable role. There is no reason not to process a direct debit and offer a refund for the month unused. Of cause we will be back when our situation is resolved. Heartlessly, the manager emphasised sorry but this is our POLICY. This definitely pushes me away from this place.

Gym is well equipped but oversubscribed. The sauna is out of order a lot of the time and for the last couple weeks only half the elements have been working.

Clean the changing room floors!!!! On op of this, their class cancellation policy is pathetic. Its 8am, i want to cancel a 7.15 class that there is a WAITING LIST for, and i cant. As someone regularly on the waiting list, i dont see why their stupid cancellation policy is like this. I bet every club member would agree that they would happily be added to the class list even just a couple hours before the class. This needs reviewing. This is not in the best interests of the members at all. And my wrist band never works first time either.

Top notch equipment and high calibre instructors/support team. Also an array of classes throughout the day every day. I’ve been lucky enough to experience a lot of gyms up and down the UK include big brands and none of them are a patch on this club. There’s something extra special about the place and people including the members who are a real mix of abilities and levels of fitness. All are friendly, smiley and helpful. There’s a definite warmth about the place. That’s why I’m giving this club a 5* review, it must be their vibe rubbing off on me!

The staff at St Michael’s are the friendliest and most professional I have encountered in the gyms I have held membership in or visited over the years. They always remember your name and are available to help with any queries you have. What I particularly like about this Gym is the very varied selection of classes and wide breath of equipment. It is also nice to see the mixed generational make up of the members. I do 9 classes a week, so 36 a month, on my membership, that works out at £1.38 a class! A swim, steam and sauna is always a nice treat to myself afterwards and costs me nothing. I would recommend this Gym to anyone from total fitness beginners upwards.

Just a quick thank you to all the staff at the Health Club. The reception staff are so friendly and extremely helpful if you have a query. It’s lovely to be greeted with a friendly face. Have been doing Aqua since retiring approximately 5 yrs ago. All instructors are first rate and sensitive to the capabilities of the participants. Tailoring their classes to allow you to work out at your pace and also giving those who can push themselves the opportunity to do so. Covid knocked everyone back to limited exercise so it is great to be able to have the opportunity to participate once again in such great classes. Long may it continue. Definitely 10 out of 10.

The health club is a friendly and welcoming environment with good facilities. I have been a member for many years and take advantage of the excellent instructor led classes to develop my fitness and well being and to support me to build my strength and endurance for events. I took part in three triathlon camps, through which I made many new friends and gained a real sense of achievement. I enjoy relaxing on the pool, sauna and steam rooms too, especially after a dip in the sea! I have recently signed up for the extra benefits of the wellness membership with dedicated personal training and a spa session each month.

This is mainly a review of the pool and spa area as I haven't used the gym. From this perspective the health club is great given that you can use it for free if you're staying in the hotel. The staff are very welcoming, they provide you with a towel and the locker/changing area is clean and of a reasonable size. The pool itself isn't huge, and it's a bit warm for serious swimming, but it's big enough and deep enough. The attached sauna and steam rooms are great as are the poolside showers (although one is out of order at the moment). It looks like you can sunbathe outside in the summer but there's plenty of space inside to relax when the weather is less clement.
