Mixed
feelings
about
this
place,so
quite
a
long
review:
Positives
-
Communal
areas
are
great
-
lounge
has
mix
of
big
tables,
and
comfy
sofas
with
great
view
over
the
harbour.
Kitchen
is
great;
spacious
with
induction
hobs,
ovens,
and
microwaves.
Free
cereal,
toast,
tea
and
instant
coffee
for
breakfast
-
posh
coffees/hot
choc
can
be
bought
from
vending
machine.
Everything
very
clean
and
in
good
condition
(only
a
year
old)
Plenty
of
car
parking,
and
secure
storage
for
bikes.
Negatives
-
Booking
is
confusing-
price
varies
with
how
many
people
are
in
your
room,
rather
than
paying
set
price
for
the
room
(or
per
person)
Rooms
are
accessed
via
external
balcony,
looks
nice,
but
means
you
can't
pop
for
a
morning
cuppa
in
your
pj's.
Also,
it
means
the
doors
are
heavy
and
slam
closed
so
you
can't
go
in
or
out
quietly.
And
you
are
exposed
to
the
weather
as
soon
as
door
is
open.
Rooms
are
a
nice
size
(we
had
a
4
person
room),
but
limited
storage
space.
No
under-bed
storage
for
bags,
and
although
cupboards
are
provided
they
aren't
useful
for
putting
clothes
in
-
set
of
drawers
would
have
been
better.
Beds
comfy,
with
light
and
plugs
above
each
one,
but
limited
head
room
on
top
bunks
-
anyone
over
5ft9
can't
sit
up
straight.
Rungs
uncomfortable
when
climbing
up
to
top
bunk.
En
suite
Bathroom:
Firstly-
zero
sound
proofing,
so
you
can
hear
everything!!
(Choose
your
roommates
wisely)
Tap
only
dispenses
hot
water,
and
is
so
large
it
makes
it
difficult
to
use
the
sink.
Drinking
water
only
available
in
the
kitchen.
There
is
a
large
mirror,
but
is
offset
to
the
sink
-
was
annoying
when
trying
to
shave
and
wash
face.
Showers-
no
temperature
control
and
the
head
is
fixed
very
high
up.
The
shower
is
in
an
alcove
with
no
curtain,
so
water
bounces
out
and
soaks
the
rest
of
the
bathroom
floor.
Sensor
control
so
switched
off
several
times
during
my
shower.
Amble
itself
is
a
bit
of
a
mix,
it
feels
a
bit
rough
in
some
bits,
but
is
definitely
improving
and
is
a
nice
base
to
explore
local
area.
Might
use
the
hostel
again,
but
was
disappointed
with
the
problems
in
the
rooms,
especially
as
it
was
custom
built
as
a
hostel,
rather
than
the
usual
conversion
of
an
existing
building.
