Came here to meet a friend for a late lunch on Bank holiday Monday and was so surprised to enter a completely empty restaurant! I got there around 2pm for info, so I had assumed that it would be packed. I went with the Hanoi bun cha and a hot Vietnam drip coffee and my friend went with the tofu spring rolls and a veggie pho. Food all came very quickly and portions were extremely massive for the prices charged so really good value for money. My bun cha was great and authentic, flavourful and juicy pork meat and pork patties in a pleasantly sweet and savoury sauce which went really well with the vermicelli noodles. Plenty of fresh salad on the side so it was a balanced meal. Hot coffee was also really nice and warm. Strong coffee aroma coming through with the sweet condensed milk which almost tasted like a dessert. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. My friend is vegan so she was very happy to see how big of a vegetarian and vegan section there is on the menu. She was extremely happy with the quality of the food and highly recommend vegans to come try this place. Vibes were so relaxing and homely. Felt like I was back in Vietnam in a local flat which was very minimalistically Southeast Asian. Service was great, the lady was so friendly and smiley the whole time. Definitely coming back for more soon!

Very good, fresh Vietnamese food. Friendly and fast service. A bit pricier than expected but overall the meal did not disappoint!

My wife and I ate here on a quiet Friday lunchtime. Having arrived not too long after opening time, we were seated immediately by a very friendly and welcoming staff member. We ordered pork banh mi, pho (available in two sizes) and a Vietnamese coffee. Prepared in a lively kitchen very quickly, the food was packed full of flavour and was very enjoyable. I'd say that it was good value for money too, as you can easily have lunch for under £10. Would recommend.

I selected this place due to its high rating on Google maps. However, I do not understand why its food receives such a high praise. The beef pho that I had was nothing close to a good one. It felt like the bouillon was mixed with water; beef was full in tendons (which I personally do not like). Sad to post this as the place is authentic and has a family history.

The food was really good. But the service could be much better, the lady ordered stuff that we didn't order. They also forgot one of the main dishes and when we asked for it again, they tried to charge us for 2. Luckily this was resolved, before paying.

The food was authentic, delicious, fresh and piping hot. The staff were just as authentic as the food and the atmosphere was fun and friendly. They allow you to bring your own alcohol but charge I think £4 per person.

The food is absolutely delicious and so flavourful! I had the salt and chilli squid, which was freshly made and fragrant. I followed with a coconut curry and sticky rice, again delicious and filling. The customer service is what really makes Hanoi Cafe brilliant, there is a personable and funny waiter named Michael who has made our experience such a lovely one. I will definitely be returning!

It's a quirky little place with cool viet art on the walls. Interior very basic and so is the service - but the food will blow your socks off. Spring rolls see super crispy, coconut rice a fragrant treat. Friends I went with had the veggie Pho and the braised spicy beef Pho and both absolutely loved it. Wonderful little place!

I've been to this restaurant a few times. It's always quiet inside compared to the others (which I like as I usually dine in alone) but they've shown me again why they are one of the least popular on the strip. (I gave them another chance after having some bland and soggy salt and pepper tofu- silly me) This restaurant is grossly overpriced and with food that lacks those gorgeous flavours and aromas you'd expect from a truly authentic Vietnamese reso. Duck with sweet chilli sauce although not bad at all, would of been nice if it wasn't mostly bone though. The homemade lemonade is really good here but again can you justify lemon, water and sugar at nearly £5 a glass? The egg fried rice was inedible, it had a odd and unpleasant smell and taste, that gave me the impression that it was either gone off or they're cheating with packets of uncle ben. As pictured you can see the egg isn't freshly scrambled egg but dried Shredded egg. Very odd. FYI you have to pay for rice/ noodles seperately as they don't include rice in their main meals. I was a little surprised that when I told the waiter I'm sending the rice back as it doesn't taste OK, they still tried to charge me for it. Customer service is disappointing considering they charge 12.5% service charge.

The most underrated and adorable family run restaurant. It's been there for years and I am so glad, because the Vietnamese coffees, summer rolls and pho are absolutely delicious. The perfect balance of spicy and wholesome which was comforting on a rainy day. Thank you ❤️

My favourite of Kingsland Road's many Vietnamese restaurants. This is a true authentic, family run establishment and I love their Beef Pho and Vietnamese Iced Coffee.

Delicious food in a friendly and homely setting. Staff were polite and prompt. I had the tofu summer rolls for starter and they were very fresh, followed by the spicy lemongrass prawn pho which was fragrant, spicy, a little bit sour and very filling. Definitely recommend these dishes - I will be back soon to try more!

I picked this restaurant because they offer pho and banh mi, and also do a weekday lunch deal. I ended up getting the small pho, which was £2 cheaper (and probably what is given to you if you pick it from the lunch deal), along with an iced coffee. My husband got the honey grilled pork banh mi. The pho was alright. The beef was very tender, but the broth was mild and didn’t match the amazing pho I had in California. As well, the small size was actually a bit too small even for me. I was quite hungry later in the afternoon. My husband’s banh mi was very flavourful, so I think he got the better meal. The coffee was good, though.

The second time I've been here and the tofu salad with noodles and sticky rices was absolutely fresh and delicious! The portions are generous and even when full, I just couldn't stop eating! Lovely staff and good service. Please thank the chef and all involved for a lovely lunch. Will definitely be back!

The best Vietnamese I have ever been to. Maybe the decor is not what you would expect but it doesn't matter as the food is sooooo delicious that you would come back again and again.

The fish noodle bowl was delicious, and spring rolls. Ordered mixed veg but they were too cooked for me. Highly recommend it.
