Breathtakingly beautiful views. Definitely give yourself time to take breaks etc as it can be quite steep uphill in certain areas. Overall though quite a great hike. Snacks and water are essential and dogs find it quite easy. Lovely weather when we went but Im sure it can get quite slippery when wet. Definitely recommend going all the way to the top. You won't regret it Also make sure you are wearing suitable hiking boots as many ppl struggled to continue as their feet were sore

What a beautiful place!! SubahanAllah Loved it. It was a cloudy day but by the grace of Allah, I reached the zenith. My friends could not make it because of heavy rain and too much wind which makes it too dangerous for them. I 100% Recommend this place to go with friends. It will be taught to children for long hiking and it could be dangerous for them.

Pen y Fan is the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales. It is a popular hiking destination, and the climb is challenging but rewarding. The first 30% of the walk is the most challenging, as it is a steep ascent. However, the views from the summit are spectacular, and you can see for miles in every direction. Here are some things to keep in mind before you attempt the climb: Make sure you have good stamina. The climb is strenuous, and it can take up to 2 hours to reach the summit. Wear sensible shoes. The path can be slippery, and you will be doing a lot of walking on scree. Bring plenty of water and snacks. It can get hot and sunny on the mountain, and you will need to stay hydrated. Check the weather forecast before you go. The weather in the mountains can change quickly, so it is important to be prepared. If you are looking for a challenging but rewarding hike, the Pen y Fan climb is a great option. Just be sure to be prepared and take your time. Here are some additional tips for a successful climb: Start early in the morning. The trails can get crowded, especially in the summer, so it is best to start early to avoid the crowds. Take breaks. There are several places to stop and rest along the trail. Take advantage of these breaks to catch your breath and enjoy the scenery. Be aware of your surroundings. The trails can be slippery, so be careful where you step. Be on the lookout for wildlife, such as sheep and goats. Have fun! The Pen y Fan climb is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy the beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

My wife and I climbed the pen y fan with the airborne crew this weekend. We were lucky as the sun was shining but a tad windy at the top. Parking is hit and miss as they are building a new carpark that will next year be £7.50 per car all day and no more parking on the side of the road. But the views are amazing and well worth a climb up.

Well it's great if you want a walk. Went after the kids went back after summer hols, so quieter than normal I'd imagine. Well maintained paths, breathtaking scenery, the only thing that would spoil it would be other people. But that's true about everywhere.

Great parking, good surfaces and expanding. WC facilities available plus NT staff on hand. Good path up to trig point although weather was poor until we reached top but worth it once clouds parted and views opened up.

It's a mountain so you will need to be reasonably fit if you want to get to the top in an hour or less, an hour and a half if you take your time. There are no seats or benches on the trail and no rubbish bins so take your litter home, there is a new car park that charges £7.50 all day and there is a toilet there which is open 24hrs but it's not the best.

A stunning place to come bit be prepared for quick changes in weather. My visit started grey and no view at the top! However, the day improved and some impressive views were to be had. Eighteen miles around the horseshoe, great!

Great challenging walk coming from the Cwm Gwdi car park. It took about 4 hours to the peak back to the car park. Good incline and requires average fitness level. This route wouldn't be suitable for someone who has knee problems as there are a lot of steep inclines and uneven paths, sometimes no paths! There was a section at the peak of pen y fan where we were climbing up the side of the mountain to reach the top, whereas you can access it with an easier route where there is hand rails which maybe more suitable for dog walkers and people with walking difficulties. It's worth the walk when you get to the top if you manage to do it on a lovely sunny day as you feel like you can see the world and it is truly beautiful!

A modest climb to the top of the tallest hill in the south of Wales and Great Britain. Ascent is approximately 500m from the car park to the summit, height of the hill circa 800m. Note that the first tall hill on the climb is not Pen Y Fan, which is the further hill with a Trig point and hill marker. Well maintained paths, car park is managed by National Trust who manage the national park. The fee is 7.50 a day or free to members.

Beautiful hike with incredible scenery all around. Fairly easy walk up and down if you go from Storey Arms - 2 miles each way. Don't cheat and go around Corn Ddu - you have to enjoy the view from there too!
