This is a beautiful beach with unusual dark coloured sands because of the eroding cliffs of shale. The best ever skimming stones were found here and today at the towering age of 43 and 363 days old I successfully skimmed stones across the sea. It is a lovely calm part of the world with stunning gorse shrubs lining the nearby golf course. It was surprisingly plastic rubbish free but then I saw two young lads dutifully collecting the tiny amount left at the high tide line.

The Accomadation is perfect. Sophisticated and also welcoming and cosy. Great Art on the walls and wonderful book collection for a rainy winters day. While looking at a beautiful bay..Stunning Summer walks and fabulous village....and the cherry on the cake for Golf enthusiasts. A favorite green.

Lovely long beach where you park up and enjoy the sand…always loads of camper vans and lovely doggies. Cafe and take away always very busy. Toilets are free but smelly..could do with a good deep clean! But still a nice place to chill out and watch them trying to get into the ice cold sea 🌊

Lovely beach and when the tide is out you can walk for miles. We parked on the beach, a bit steep at £5 and walked around the estuary to Newport itself. Good pub lunch at the Castle Inn and a gentle stroll back along the beach when the tide was out. Good ice cream at the beach. Very dog friendly and very clean

Great dog friendly beach with on beach parking if the tides out. Car park available also at £5 a day. Public toilets, coffee, ice cream by coast guard hut. Worth a walk up to golf club for excellent views and food and drink.

Great views from the room and breakfast. Don't buy breakfast with your stay though as its cheaper when you get there. Room was good size but very dirty with peanuts under the chest of drawers and the bathroom a bit dusty.

Went in for a hot chocolate after going to the beach. The service was very friendly. Lovely toys and mat for the children to play with. And an amazing view out the window
