We live locally and we were always of the opinion that Skern was a place for school trips. We were very wrong. Not only have they rescued the Appledore Book Festival from the mighty COVID, they also hire out their swimming pool for private groups. We've taken advantage of this many times this year :-)

My kids loved the adventure days they have been on. On arrival someone was there to greet us, spoke to myself and my kids, all very happy, smiley and friendly and most of all approachable. The same when I returned to pic my kids up, they spoke to me again, gave me feedback and again very approachable, friendly and happy to talk to you. My children loved there days activities which included surfing, Bush craft, crate stacking and archery yo name just a few! Would highly recommend and I cannot wait to come back and give some of the activities a try with the rest of my family.

Great afternoon out with the family. Did 4 activities which were all fun and something for all ages to get involved in, the kids loved it. Alex our instructor was brilliant, really good with the kids and was very engaging . Could tell she actually enjoyed what she was doing which made it even more fun.

Took the U11s on rugby tour about 3 weeks ago. It was great. The staff could not have done more. Super friendly team, well organised. Activities were focused around ‘team building’ and were fun for both the lads and the dads! Perfect for a weekend with this type of group. Will consider a re-run next year as there are plenty more activities to try. If we don’t make it down again I have already recommended to the other age groups at the club. Thanks to all the staff for a fantastic trip.

Absolutely amazing experience- great communication beforehand and answered our questions and Alex was a friendly instructor who looked after us so well . I had not kayaked before so wasn’t sure what to expect but it was so much fun- and Alex made you feel safe and I enjoyed going into the water and bobbing around - trying both the larger kayak and the single — a great family activity - pretty scenery as well - thank you so much . PS wetsuits kept us warm and were not smelly ( having hired from other places which were whiffy it was nice to have dry clean wet suits too ) ....

I went there for a school trip, it was fun but the rooms were quite bad, the toilets had some graffiti

Took a group of young people who say they had the most wonderful time and experiences at skern lodge. Thank you all for being so accommodating to us but most importantly for really working with our young people, providing them with such wonderful activities for 5 days. Alex you will be missed by all of them!

Great activities, friendly staff and lots of food variety. Set in a beautiful part of the country.

Nice Luxurious Holiday With Good Food Served Up For You And Brilliant Fun Activities Also There Are Great Amount Of Rooms And Beds!

Great activity centre. My 8yr old son went on an activity day in October were he did kayaking, an assult course and archery. The staff were fab!
