Even as a non-cider drink it was still a nice place to visit and they had some good IPAs. Staff are really nice, friendly and helpful and it’s in a great location!

Don't even think about visiting if you're driving! Always a great selection of ciders served by knowledgeable and personable staff. Just a great place to hang out and drink the afternoon and evening away...

Such a lovely outdoor pub where you order on a boat! Their several ciders are rly tasty, especially the mangoo-lime one. It is also situated in a peaceful area, despite his proximity with King St.

Really cool boat on the side of the river in the centre of Bristol. Bit rough and ready in terms of decor, but that suits the surroundings. Good selection of ciders at a good price (although if you like ale then it’s only bottles and they’re a bit dear, but they are local). Worth a visit.

Awesome crafted Cider bar based on a barge but with a large open area too with large umbrellas. Plenty of unique ciders to cater for all palettes. Really great spot to meet up with friends and have a catch up over 5 or 6 pints 🍎

1 star is too high a rating for the service we received last night. We were given the wrong drink, and rather than replacing the drink with what we ordered in the first place, we were told that it couldn’t be replaced because it had been put down on the table?? The error wasn’t our fault and it really wouldn’t have cost them anything to replace it but instead the manager stood and argued with us for 10 minutes. They have lost 5 loyal customers, which will cost them more money in the long run. He was so concerned about the cost of replacing the incorrect drink but he didn’t even charge us for our last round of 5 drinks - the manager clearly needs to undertake some sort of training because he doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing.

Decided to try this place early one Saturday evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The drinks on offer were delicious, and the staff were always on hand, (as it was a "table service"). I highly recommend this place, especially if you're a cider drinker like me.

Great relaxing place by the river and a great cider selection. When the sun is out and you fancy a thirst quencher there is no better place to relax and take in the surroundings. Not forgetting the staff who make it all work.

With an outdoor bar as well as plenty of seating The Apple is great place to stop off for a couple of ciders along Welsh Back, literally opposite King St which also has a number of great place with a chilled atmosphere. Whenever I've been to The Apple the staff have always been welcoming/helpful, especially when it comes to recommendations base on cider preference. Overall if you're a fan of cider and enjoy easygoing atmosphere's then The Apple is worth a visit. Will add that the main bar is on a docked boat if you've not been before, which in itself has a unique character to it.

male staff member shouted at me ‘there’s a line behind you, you know!’ as if i was just standing there- when i was already trying to order. was very rude, and made me feel embarrassed for even being there.

Really popular on a sunny day. Lots of choice if you obviously love cider. Great atmosphere, kept nice and clean. Never queued long considering the amount of people here.

I'm never less than happy with my experiences here. The indoor and outdoor environments are comfortable and they always have some interesting ciders on. Not to mention the delicious wobbly water that is their Old Bristollian.

Amazing range of Ciders and a great spot for outdoor drinks. Beware of the birds that frequent the area. It’s not rare for them to fly-by plop in people’s drinks/on the tables.

This is an absolute gem of a place,, one I would recommend for all cider drinkers,, a nice place to relax and meet people from Bristol and visitors to the area,, staff are friendly and knowledgeable of ciders and are happy to recommend, at weekends there's plenty of hen groups passing by which is good eye candy for men who love the ladies

Apples always a good go for a pint, nice spot and what not by the river. But it’s the staff that really bring it home. Alex is clearly an expert bartender with knowledge and good looks to boot, whether it’s for the best tap water you’ve ever tasted or a recommendation of how to ruin your niece’s birthday in the lowest amount of Mils, he’ll get it done. 10/10 pub, 12/10 bar staff.

Love this place, discovered whilst walking around last year, excellent range of proper cider, lad serving us explained about the different ciders, proper cider at it's best 👌

Always a fantastic place on the Bristol harbour side for a great pint or half of cider, such a friendly atmosphere

  • 5/5 Duncan O. 1 year ago on Google
Fantastic place. An excellent cider pub, and it's on a boat! I was a little disturbed at how at home I felt, being on a boat and in a pub at the same time. They also do carry-outs.

  • 5/5 Alexander S. 1 year ago on Google
Exactly what you want when you go out for a drink! Great atmosphere and some good cider.

Very nice outdoor cider place, quite appropriately named 🍊 There isn't really a whole lot more to say. It is obviously self-service, tables and benches are clean, nice big tents / umbrellas for those rare occasions where it rains. I'm no cider aficionado, but I enjoyed my pint of Kingston Black.

  • 5/5 Tim T. 8 months ago on Google
Well. What to say. Big boat . 8 draft ciders. Massive outdoor area on Bristol docks. What's not to like? A bit mardy service given i was the only one ordering. That aside. I'm sure when it's not a cold windy September Tuesday its chocka and amazing. As it was I really liked it, grumpy staff side. And it's a Pete Brown favourite, so high praise indeed.

Very chill place to grab a cider. Plenty of seating space inside and out. Plus they have board games downstairs if you fancy a drink with a game. Good place to bring friends over for a drink 🍻

Love this place. Amazing selection of proper cider. Lots of outdoor seating by the river. It can get very busy, but it's a great place for people watching. If you're in Bristol and want to try some local ciders, this place is an essential visit.

Excellent interpersonal bar service, knew their stuff to cater to tastes, amazing selection and reasonable prices. Open busy and laid-back location, appealing for every kind of cider lover.

If you love proper cider, you'll love The Apple! A great selection from Dry to Sweet (it's easy to see which is which as the cider menu boards have a helpful indicator). There are two bars, one on the boat's lower deck and one on the quay. A good choice of seating areas too, on both decks of the boat plus the quayside.

It's a bit of institution in Bristol. A great range of real ciders on offer ranging from sweet fruity offerings to ciders so strong and dry they'll turn you inside out - so something for everyone really...

Tried to enter to the pub with my other mate and one of your employees simply would not let us in to sit on our own separate table all because we knew some other people in the same bar. And openly said “we don’t care about you”! Terrible service :)

Absolutely 5 star service all night - beautiful venue and amazing service from the staff, especially Dave who was so friendly and professional. Despite the ongoing fear of lockdown, everyone remained friendly and calm and kept on their face masks.

Lovely bloke that seated us, very polite. Women behind bar was rather rude unfortunately, which spoilt the experience.

Great place to drink excellent cider. Such an unusual bar, but it's nice to have the choice of drinking on deck, below deck (where the bar is situated) or on the quayside. Went here twice and found the bar staff to be friendly and helpful and the selection of ciders was excellent. Good prices too. A must visit in Bristol - this is the real deal, not just a gimmicky bar.

Fantastic choice of ciders and a very useful board that describes how sweet/dry they are that help to pick your favorite. Old Bristolian is a must have. It's a must visit when you're in Bristol!

Brought my family here during my sons birthday for a drink. The staff refused to seat us despite the many, many empty tables. Unhelpful, unaccommodating & rude. Manager a total ball ache.
