This is a must visit place in Cornwall. Very stunning scenery, walk down to the mines is very scenic. Very good path leading to the mines. There is a metal fence to stop people from going down to the bottom mine, cliffs fallen down there, and there is no proper path to get down. People still scramble down though, quite dangerous. It's lovely just to watch waves crashing onto cliffs below. 10/10.

Truly epic location and an iconic Cornish view now. Very popular with visitors but it’s a really good opportunity to understand some of the hard rock mining history of west Cornwall and see at firsthand how close the mine workings came to the cliffs and ocean. Stunning in all weathers! The nearby National Trust car park and cafe with small exhibition are pretty handy too.

I loved catching the first sunset in June at one of the most wonderful local and historically atmospheric locations - The Crown Engine House, Botallack. 🙏🌸🌞 Super interesting mine works to explore and stunning coastal walks. The best Poldark location in the West of Cornwall! Drive down a non tarmac road - National Trust parking - cafe during the day - no facilities in the evening.

Wonderfully photogenic in all weathers. History, scenery, drama, there's so much. Our dear Brenda, fondly remembered. A is for 'ansome, which we think we are ... well nobody else would, would they. Happy days.

Gorgeous place to walk around. Views are stunning, and my dog loved it here. Very historic and interesting with the two engine houses and based on the tin coast. We actually stayed in the village of Botallack, so it was a 8 minute walk down to it. Parking does look easy enough if driving here though with a average sized carpark that didn’t look to busy. 100% recommended to have a walk to this place for the stunning views, I’ve been most mornings and evenings and each time looked very different depending on the weather. Free to walk around but not sure if car parking is or not. But I wouldn’t of thought it would be alot if so, definitely worth it either way.

Great place to visit on a sunny, dry day. The car park has plenty of spaces, ulbiet a very rough track. Cafe on site has plenty of teas, coffee, and cakes. Then, onto the mines. Great site to explore again dog friendly, recommend keeping them on leads is a must. An open mine to explore on route to the mine shafts if you look for it lol. Be back to visit again.

A place you should definitely visit. Beautiful scenery with a lot of mining heritage. And a great coastal walk.

👍👍 One of the best locations to be in the west coast of Penzance. In contrast to other busy attractions like Land's End or St Ives, this hidden gem is surprisingly quiet. The landscape is jaw-dropping with breathtaking view from the cliff. There are small walking routes to reach there easily from St Ju...

👍👍 Love this area and only a stones throw from my home. Cant beat just sitting here and watching the waves and listening to the sounds of the waves crashing against the rocks. Such a peaceful place to just chill and take all the beautiful scenery in. Just a shame new campsites popped up are full so it...

👍👍 I found this just by looking on google, if you keep going past the lighthouse it takes you down to another car park. It’s a great walk close to the end of the cliff so I’d personally keep dogs on leads, just in case! Found a beer can too, standard. Take your litter home with you, there are bins by t...
