Alan's 12 week course is very well thought out and structured. It's suitable for total beginners but also has lots of scope for developing the practice over time. The online option for weekly classes and the videos he shares weekly are extremely helpful for keeping up with learning the form. It's great value with weekend workshops included in the cost which cover additional aspects of the practice. Alan is a very knowledgeable teacher with a gentle presence and a good sense of humour. I can't recommend his classes highly enough!

As a teacher, Alan has considered and planned the course so well. The support materials are excellent too and include videos and handouts. You have plenty of material to work with at home and you never really miss a class as you have the videos. I’m returning to Tai Chi after many years of not doing any and learning so much in Alan’s classes. Travelling from Edinburgh to classes and will be doing the next course! I can highly recommend the 12 week course.

Alan is a dedicated and approachable teacher, who goes out of his way to meet students where they are. He has a relaxed and versatile teaching approach, which draws on his own deep interest in Tai Chi and Qi Gong. I particularly enjoy that my mind and body feel equally engaged during Alan's classes, with a strong emphasis on integrating embodied practice with its underlying framework of principles. I learn something new and interesting each time I attend one of Alan's classes, and always leave feeling refreshed.

I’ve really enjoyed Alan’s teaching. He works to get you to understand Taichi principles - sort of from the inside out - so that you pay attention to your own movement and feelings. It’s not just about making shapes! That way everyone can join in.

Alan has a long explorative history in the eclectic inner arts that has led to an insightful, adaptive and generous approach to teaching, with a focus on embodying principles rather than rote memorisation. Very much worth a visit.

Having started with online and 121 sessions, I am now really enjoying Alan's Saturday Workshop series as well as the opportunity to interact with his other students. Alan is a very knowledgeable teacher with a wealth of personal experience. I would thoroughly recommend his classes to anyone who is interested in a holistic approach to developing their own mind body practice.

The movements are beautiful to learn and Alan is a master at giving the history behind them as he teaches bringing it all to life. His passion is obvious.

It's always a pleasure to practice with Alan. Patient, experienced, knowledgeable, enthusiastic - quietly encouraging. A great teacher.
