Removed me as an NHS patient after 30+ years with no warning, heads up or anything. They cancelled my appointment due to covid lockdowns and they said I didn't rebook fast enough. Only found out because I called them up asking for an appointment. The receptionist tried to convince me that it would have been totally impossible to notify me before removal as they would have to contact 1000s of patients every day. If you are really removing 1000s of patients from your books every day, you have bigger problems. More likely, this was just a pretty pathetic excuse for their incompetence. I've been going there all my life, it's so sad.

Even before Covid, our appointments here - that I’d booked 6 months beforehand and deliberately arranged to fit in with the school holidays - were routinely cancelled and inconveniently rescheduled. Now, our latest check-up appointments - our first in two years because of Covid - have been cancelled the day before with no explanation and we are told we will have to wait another 6 months! We’re not even allowed to book these appointments yet but must wait till the new year! I can only think they’re deliberately trying to shed NHS patients. Not good at all.

I used to have Megan when I went to the dentist. Then a couple of weeks ago I had Pamela Akuku assigned to me which had me a bit worried as I am not a fan of going to the dentist at the best of times and I don't like changing my dentist. I saw Pamela this morning and what a fantastic dentist she is. I was given a filling had a tooth filed down and then had them cleaned all without an injection and didn't feel a thing. I am home with no numbness able to eat without chewing my inside cheeks to bits and feeling very comfortable. Great experience, thank you Pamela

My husband and I have been with this practice since 1994 ( 28 years ) and my children since birth. It used to be a fantastic practice , we had the same dentist for years and we’re very happy. However the service and standard of care has gone down hill steadily over the last few years and is now disgraceful . Appointments cancelled regularly at short notice, dentists changing constantly . Some receptionists rude and unhelpful. Whilst others can’t apologise enough for the bad service . I have now sort a better practice that actually seem to care .

Do not go to this dentist I came to make an appointment I spoke to lady at reception called Meg The receptionist meg said they were taking not taking anymore patients because I hadn't been since 2020. The reason I hadn't been was because of COVID 9 and they weren't taking patients anyway. When I called each time to make an appointment they kept saying no appointments even after they said weren't taking taking any patients so I missed two years because they said they weren't accepting any patients also because of COVID 9 and lock down. I never received any letters or texts that if I didn't make an appointment I would be removed. When I tried to explain the reception l meg said that I was been rude and asked me to leave. I don't believe I was being rude at all I don't believe this was fair of them to say this, this is why I'm making the complaint. I think she misunderstood me as I was trying to in an assertive manner as to what may have happened I believe this was un professional practice and getting the other staff to bully me in the practice. I felt intimidated and bullied by the staff as well I believe asking me to leave was in my opinion rude and disrespectful and getting the other staff to act against me was unfair. I have never been asked to leave a dentists before and I have found them to be helpful. I don't believe I was treated fairly or kindly by the practice I believe she might have also been racist and so we're the staff hence why she accused me of being rude . I should have been kept informed as to what had happened and because of COVID 9 they were not taking any patients anyway in the years 2020 and 2021 which Is why I couldn't get an appointment two years anyway because of the lockdown and they couldn't take any patients anyway because of COVID and the restrictions so I don't know what she was talking about she was rude racist and unprofessional and it was the same in 2022 when I tried to phone in they said no appointments. When I tried to get an appointment in 2022 they said they had no appointments what was I supposed to do huh it wasn't my fault. The practice manager was not in at the time and is on annual leave so I could not get to speak to any one not even a managers. I would recommend people not to visit this dental practice. I would recommend anybody in haxby not to visit this practice the people including the megladon receptionist horrible person.

I've just had some work completed by Pamela and I'm so happy, she is an excellent dentist and the way that she works is so professional. During having my routine check I mentioned about wanting a new replacement front tooth and Pamela gave her thoughts on what would work best. Within just 3 weeks and 2 appointments the work was completed with a fantastic result. The 2 dental nurses (sorry I didn't get your names) who were both really friendly worked in sync so well with Pamela, making the experience of sitting in the dental chair even more comforting. Thank you Pamela, you have sorted me out and I'm very impressed.

I wish I could rate it as zero stars. Dental practice with a very poor service. I took my child there in August. They told me they would refer us for tooth extraction. I waited and thought I am in a queue. In January they called me for more details to actually make the referral. As a result we lost 6 months. Very disappointed and would not recommend it to anyone.
