First time in Rye, visited loads of shops, cafes & Museums etc. Rye fish market is a 5/5 favourite Gem of all the very many unique shops. I grew up in a port town in South Africa, fish markets are fish markets, but.. I loved this business because of the perfectly lovely and friendly couple owners. I bought a very decent size lobster that they cooked up for us ready to go. I so very much appreciate the customer service and friendly chat. All the fish on display is so fresh and perfectly displayed. Thank you for the cockels, I managed to get 2 before the kids hoovered them up. Amazing dinner tonight. Cooked up with local veg. Kids called the lobster Larry.

The best crab sarnie this side of Craster, fantastic setting on Simmons quay and a local, sustainable business led by hard working, welcoming and plain gorgeous Keith and Louise. Fish is always great quality, good deals, clear about what is caught locally and importantly it’s a good price point.

So many different kinds of fish. I buy kippers whenever I visit it. You are asked if you want fish filetted or gutted. I recommend this fishmarket.
