We’ve just spent the week staying near Bala and went to The Bryntirion pub for dinner last night. I had a Welsh Black beef stew and when I mentioned Welsh Black was my favourite, the landlady recommended TJ Roberts & Son. So we duly paid a visit this morning on the way home. What a magnificent shop and the butcher I spoke to seemed proud to stock and sell such fine cuts as Welsh Black. A very pleasant and friendly man. I bought 3 sirloin steaks for dinner tonight and we’ve just eaten them, cooked medium rare, with new potatoes and lovely fresh vegetables from the garden. I want to say thank you from us all for one of the best, if not The best sirloins I’ve ever eaten. So tender and tasty and a joy to cook. Dinner certainly rounded off what has been a lovely week in wonderful North Wales. Now to try the delicious looking pork pies the landlady recommended. Keep doing what you’re doing Mr Roberts. I only wish I lived nearer!

OMG ! bought 2 dinners for my wife and I a couple of days ago. Pre made chicken curry and 2 lamp rumps. We also bought some veg and a few other bits. Circa £20 was spent in total. All outstanding, wish we lived closer 🥴

Got to know Roberts when I used to source meat for our scout camp. Whenever possible and I am in the area I make a huge diversion to stock up on Welsh lamb shoulder. My-oh-my but its good, as is their other meat that the scouts used to consume with gusto,

Recommended to us for a BBQ by our favourite Dolgellau campsite (meat delivered on a Saturday in Dolgellau at midday). Everyone said how fantastic the meat was, the BBQ ribs, salt & pepper thighs, and Dragon sausages getting special mentions. Highly recommend.

There are cutters as opposed to butchers and Master Butchers as opposed to butchers. T J Roberts are without doubt Master Butchers. They enjoy a far flung reputation for quality meat game and poultry, all carefully sourced.

Can really recommend the Lamb Rumps they had a lovely sea salt and rosemary crusted rub.The butcher gave me instructions on how to cook,which I passed to hubby !!!!! DELICIOUS 😊

My second visit in two years holidaying in Bala and I've yet to be disappointed. Even though I called in close to closing time they were accommodating. Had some ribeye which I like "thick"(about 500g), they were superb... Thank you! See you next year.

Great service friendly staff and fresh produce
