We had a wonderful stay at Heygates. The lodges are beautiful - perfectly kitted out, sparkling clean and in an amazing location, right on the canal and next to beautiful woodland. It's clear a lot of care and attention has gone into every detail here, from the coffee machine and fresh milk and eggs in the fridge to the lodges, bbq, hammock and surrounding area, which are all beautifully maintained and with lots of thoughtful details. We enjoyed the large wood fired hot tub, kindly heated up before we arrived. The dog also had a great time with plenty of nice walks along the canal or around the local area.

Absolutely fantastic weekend away in this little haven. Graham was the most amazing host and so gracious in his interactions, with lots of thoughtful gestures. The hut is compact but perfect and the outdoor provisions of the seating area, hot tub, fire put and hammock make for a perfect romantic getaway. Would not hesitate to come again :)

We have just had a 5 star experience in the pheasant lodge. We were made very welcome by Graham on our arrival, he gave us a tour of the lodge and the grounds and took time to explain how everything worked to us. The location of the lodges couldn’t be better, so peaceful and relaxing. The lodges have everything that you could need, we cooked breakfast and dinner everyday, with use of the BBQ and breakfast packs provided upon request. The lodge was spotless - thanks to Allison we hear! We celebrated a 21st birthday, Graham & Allison kindly decorated the lodge for us and had the perfect finishing touches. We will definitely be returning. Thanks again for an amazing stay 👏🏻👍🏻

Me and my partner have just returned from a weekend stay in the pheasant Lodge, we could not have been happier with our stay. When we arrived we were greeted by Graham who assisted us with our bags and showed us to our lodge, walking us through how everything works. The lodge was very clean and the hot tub was heated prior to our arrival ready for us to jump right in, the fridge had eggs, milk and butter alongside some complimentary biscuits and crisps on the side which was a lovely touch. We were unsure what shops and restaurants were around and Graham kindly sent us a list of places he recommended along with some walking routes. We were left to it for the duration of the stay with the odd check in to ensure everything was to our liking which was appreciated. This is the perfect stay for couples or to escape reality for a few days, very scenic and incredibly relaxing, we will definitely be booking to go back as soon as we can.

We first saw the lodges from a canal boat and decided to book in for a two night stay. It was an excellent decision. Graham was a great host, he met us on arrival and made us feel very welcome. The place is a wonderful get away from modern life, relaxing and idyllic. The lodge has all mod cons and is very well kitted out and comfortable. It was lovely sitting on the decking overlooking the canal with a fresh coffee in the morning. A tip for anyone staying in Fox Lodge; use the fire pit in the woods, it's better than the one outside the lodge, it burns better with less smoke. It rained the first night but we were warm and mostly dry under the trees. We were already discussing our next visit before leaving we loved it so much. Jan & Roald

Me and my wife had the most perfect stay here. Lovely and pieceful location. The lodge was spotless, and you can tell alot of detail has gone into making these special. Nothing was to much for Graham and Alison. Super hosts. Highly recommended.

What an amazing find! Graham and Allison have created the perfect luxurious hideaway! Their customer service and attention to detail is astounding, from the pre-arrival communications, to the on-site welcome and the personal touches to make you feel valued and cared for. The lodge itself was stunning, with every creature comfort you could think of. The quality of the furnishings and facilities was second to none…. We didn’t want to leave! I would recommend Pheasant and Fox lodges to anyone who wants to escape to a little bit of rural heaven, we’re already planning our return visit. Thank you Graham and Allison, I’ve left a little bit of my heart in your meadow!

Words cannot describe how beautiful this place is! If you need a break...like an escapism, "having a crisis moment and need to leave every thought behind etc.", this is the place for you. From the moment we set foot onto the land, it was like a fairytale with picturesque views as well as a hot tub to welcome us in! The fire pit and BBQ were ready to go to which we were appreciative! The hosts are lovely and will happily set things up before your arrival so definitely let them know a certain time so you can waltz in and jump into the hot tub or cook food straight away! They have a variety of ciders and beers from local farms so we recommend trying them as they are absolutely delicious! Additionally, as the lodges are by the canal, they are secluded, but do cater to any boaters with their docking station as well as have an abundance of maps for you to plan out your days. We definitely think that everyone should go for their BBQ/ Breakfast plan so you have it on arrival and do not need to pack up a lot of food that may defrost in the car! Honestly, it was like a peaceful retreat and I selfishly needed it. It picked me back up so I am forever appreciative. We are going to book twice a year to escape the World for a bit...race you all to the dates!
