SOOO tasty - perfect warm hug on a Sunday. The Sunday roast was so delicious. I feel like it was missing something though. Maybe some roasted garlic and/or stuffing? We also got the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was probably one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The drinks were great too - would recommend their dessert cocktails.

Great little restaurant, very accommodating for my son who is a wheelchair user. Staff friendly and knew the menu inside out. Food was lovely, we had the 3 course set menu which was great value. Highly recommend it.

Had a nice lunch at the chop house this week. Good was a little slow coming out, but with the wait. I had the sausages with mashed which were very tasty, my wife had the grazing plate... Appetizer sampler and enjoyed everything except the pork skins. I thought they were fine but she didn't like the texture being too hard. My son's dish was the start though, the burger... Very tasty, perfectly cooked and we all thought it was great. Lovely view from the table and spot on service.

Walked in and lucky to have a table for 2. Next visit, safer to make reservations. Ordered 2 set menu. The Soup and Sardines were the side dishes that were served as starters. Then came the main menu, The Coley and the Steak. All served in a timely manner. First time having Coley, tasted fresh and fleshy. Loved the place and service.

We made a reservation for Sunday at 12.30 lunch time to try their roast dinner. We arrived ahead of schedule, around 12.10. Despite this, the host was very welcoming and quickly showed us to our table. Once seated, we ordered two soft drinks (rhubarb lemonade and a ginger beer) and two roast dinners - pork belly and chicken. The drinks were brought first and then after another 5 minutes, the roasts came. Once we started eating, my partner told me that her chicken was very dry, and she asked the waiter to bring some extra gravy. My dish had a bit too much fat for my liking, although the taste was ok. I ate everything apart from the extra fat, as the picture shows. We did not receive a check-back whilst eating. However when we were getting ready to pay for the bill, we gave our feedback to the host. At this point, Vito - our host, was very professional and offered his apologies for the weak points of the dishes and from the original bill he deducted the chicken roast. We were very pleasantly surprised by this and whenever we'll be back around the area, we'll try one of their other dishes. I had originally planned to give 3 ⭐, however Vito has gone above and beyond, so just for him I'll give 4 ⭐

We really enjoyed the chop house. Nice selection of meats from all kinds. Good service, a nice lunch menu and alcohol options as well. A good pick if you are into a steak or other meats while in Cambridge. Both the steak and the ham were great, thanks a lot🎉

Lovely location in front of Kings College. So theres a great view if you seat on the outside seating. Food is really good. I went for the 3 course set menu. And everything I had was delicious. Service is also great. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. There's also seating downstairs so dont be disappointed if the main floor and outside seating looks full. Definitely recommend for a nice lunch or fancy dinner.

What an AMAZING meal!!! Based on the one meal tonight, I wished I'd eaten here for my entire stay in Cambridge (5 nights). Our waitress Marcia was also so lovely and passionate about her job it was so refreshing. Pork crackling - best I've ever had. The crunch, is LOUD!! Perfect crackling. Lamb chops and garlic butter was one meal and Rib-eye with peppercorn sauce for my partner. Both absolutely exceptional. The peppercorn sauce is absolute magic!! I didn't use my garlic butter and ordered another peppercorn sauce. Could've drank it by itself. The meats were succulent in falvour and melted in the mouth. Drinks were so nice as well and reasonably priced. Deserts just needed everything nicely. Sometimes you don't need drama and theatrics, just good food! Definite must try restaurant in Cambridge. Nice location on the corner with outside and downstairs seating with great unintrusive background music so was able to talk without raising my voice.. Topped our meal in The Ivy round the corner. Thanks All, we'll be back

Lovely restaurant immediately opposite Kings College. The atmosphere is cosy and relaxed with hearty food. The burgers here are outstanding. One of our guest’s meat dishes wasn’t great (tough) but the staff were very responsive and replaced it as quickly as they could. Impressive. I can highly recommend the chocolate tart dessert which came with an incredible tangy berry compote - perfect!

Very pleasant meal. We were worried we wouldn't get our meal in time for us to get to our event in London. Meal came in perfect timing and we couldn't thank the waiter enough for being a great host. Thank you and we'll definitely be back.

Great food in a really nice setting. The feel and atmosphere of this restaurant is great. It has quite a relaxed vibe. The food was pretty good. Portions are huge, had the roast chicken - chicken was very dry and over cooked, however everything else was done very well.

Great service, even on a busy Sunday, with very good quality food. Staff were all nice and friendly. Roast specials were excellent and fair city-centre value at £20. Pork crackling was close to perfection. Mark-up on the pretty decent wine was too high, as it happened to be available in Cambridge Wine Merchants next door.

I really enjoyed our dinner here before seeing a play. We did not make reservations and we got basement seats and we still enjoyed it. Service is really great and the food is ridiculously good. I had a nice ribeye. If you're a fan of Blackadder, you might enjoy going to the toilets as well 😁

I have to say I was disappointed. I wanted to come to this place since the first day I arrived at Cambridge. However the quality and service didn’t meet my expectation. The appetiser were good, but the porterhouse we ordered was burnt. So I asked for solution when my server came to ask, and the manager told us there is no way to get this fixed cuz the fillet part supposed to be thinner. So a chophouse can’t serve proper classic steak? Eventually we were convinced to change our order to a regular fillet, it was fine. The venison was also over cooked, the meat was dry and hard. The overall experience made me dissatisfied, the quality of steak is under expectation.

Very good restaurant situated in a beautiful part of Cambridge. We shared a big piece of meat (kind of tomahawk, I can't remember the name) with chips. The meat was very tasty and the chips were crispy and not oily. The atmosphere is warm and you can enjoy a nice view on a beautiful street while you're eating. They also have a good wine selection. The service was excellent. I definitely recommend.

Loved this place. Had a beautifully cooked fillet steak. Mash and mushroom sauce also lovely. Whole table really enjoyed their meals. Got the sharing platter to start, some interesting takes on classic British food such as haggis fritters! Staff were very friendly and attentive. Would recommend booking in advance and getting a table upstairs. Sticker toffee pudding perhaps a tad too sweet

Have not been to the Chop House for years but really enjoyed my last visit. All members of staff we came across with were very friendly and efficient. The food was delicious as usual. We opted in for a set menu and I had a mackerel salad which reminded me of Niçoise salad, with an egg, plenty of mackerel and French beans, my friend enjoyed Haggis fritters. For the main I had a ham hock which came with thick cut chips, they were crispy from the outside and fluffy inside and runny yolk duck egg, absolute perfection. Dessert was a classic Sticky toffee, I have had it many times in the past and was pleasantly surprised that the recipe hasn't changed, it is absolutely delicious, generous portion swerved with vanilla ice cream and toffee sauce. We really enjoyed our meal and service from the moment we arrived and left. Thank you

Good restaurant, with a variety of choices. Was very happy with the food and drinks. The staff were very nice and helpful. Great view on the main square if seated upstairs (would certainly recommend that).

Visited last Friday in the evening; overall excellent food and great service. Huge shoutout to Alexa for looking after us! We had the Dedham Vale Tomahawk and it was wonderful, the fat basically melted in my mouth, totally worth the price. Drinks also great. If I had to nitpick a bit I’d point out that the staff didn’t smile much and that the gent who welcomed us in remarked about us being late, which I felt was a little unnecessary (we phoned to say we’d be about 15 minutes late and it was vague as to whether they needed the table back). Thanks so much guys!

Delicious food, especially the starters. My steak was cooked to perfection and exactly as requested. Staff were friendly and attentive. Easily accommodated us with a pram which we were delighted with. Would recommend and will definitely return!

Stopped by for dinner with my family. Staff was very friendly to all of us. Had a kids menu with good options and great price. My wife had a two course meal for 20 gbp that included a steak that was great. I had the brisket which was delicious. Would definitely come back.

This place was located in the heart of Cambridge, so weren't sure if the food would be as good as shown in the picture they have displayed outside (my son was won over by the picture). But to my surprise the beef roast dinner was delightful and the service was warm and so friendly. One of my favourite roasts I've had in a good while!! We ate everything on the plate lol

Family dinner Very polite and friendly service from all staff Food was very tasty. Very fresh, good portion size and worth the money. Nice atmosphere we sat by the window watching people walk by. But the downstairs looked nice too. Would recommend.

A must for any steak lover! Top notch food from start to finish service marked down slightly due to the questioning of me removing the service charge I nearly didn’t leave any cash tip because of this. Please ask clients if they would like to pay the service charge rather assuming that I’m willing to pay it, you might find it goes down better.

really pretty restaurant and right next to king’s college chapel - great location! portions were quite big and overall pretty good. it’s quite pricey but would recommend coming here if visiting Cambridge!

We pre-booked a table for lunch on a weekday for a window seating at street level so atmosphere was excellent. Starters, mains and dessert was delicious. Staff were very friendly and polite which made a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant can be a little noisy when it is very crowded.

Charming restaurant in a central part of the city. Great menu choices, and the food was fantastic. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and gave good recommendations. The food was delicious, served quickly and hot. It is one of the best places in town for steak because it has plenty of choices. I'd recommend the potted rabbit on the current menu and a decent rib eye with chunky, hand cut, triple cooked chips. I am looking forward to coming back again soon.

Had the beef tomahawk which is 46oz, the chips are also huge so make the steak look small but it was a feast for two people. Excellent service and good value in a great setting opposite Kings College.

Cool location, the meat is great! We have been here twice, one for the Sunday roast, and the second time we ordered the tomahawk which was delicious. A special mention to the staff that is always kind and attentive.

Incredible food! Booked table as other had said it was best Sunday roast in Cambridge. They were wrong, it's the best Sunday roast in all the land! Lovely friendly staff who weren't too pushy and the homemade lemonade was wonderful as well. My partner had the beef which was so tender you could eat it with a spoon! Will definitely be going again

We went for a Sunday roast, the food was good, even though the meat portions really differ between meat types (half chicken compared to a small portion of pork belly) and the chicken was quite dry. The waiting time was very very long, there was some mistake delivering our order, but they offered us dessert for the mistake. The environment was very noisy, so the atmosphere wasn't super great.
