Prior to our stay at Maesywerngoch we had high expectations due to the stunning photos and the excellent pre-visit communication we had with Susan the owner. On arrival, and throughout our stay, our experience somehow exceeded expectations. Maesywerngoch is a paradise. The spacious and stylish house offered us plenty of room for spreading out and luxurious bedrooms/bathrooms for all. The garden and grounds were exceptionally presented, huge and exciting to explore for the children and the adults, the lawn making the most beautiful setting for cricket and rounders matches. Forestry tracks surrounding the house led us on many adventures and catered for our morning jogs, leading us to many a splendid vista. A place to soak up nature and the beauty of it all. And what a view from the house - watching the changes in weather in the valley, not to mention the star-gazing and tracking the moon on its journey across the sky at night. A true sanctuary as well as an exciting place to explore for the children. The house and gardens are a credit to its owners Susan and Nicholas - and to Terry (caretaker) and his team who ensured the house was spotless for us. Susan was always on hand to answer any queries throughout and a big thanks to Terry who keeps the house and grounds at such a high standard. The children loved your wildlife stories. Many thanks again to all for making a dream holiday possible.

Fantastic week away at Maesywerngoch. House could not of been more perfect for our group of 12. Lovely big rooms and very comfortable for all. The garden is an amazing space to explore and play in. The kids had a great time as did the adults and lots of games of hide and seek were played. The stars at night are quite literally out of this world. So much can be seen without the need for telescopes or binoculars. The caretaker Terry was on hand if needed and always happy to help. The location is very remote and that is part of the charm in getting away from everything. Make sure you do your shopping before you get there as you won't be nipping to the shop for that forgotten pint of milk in less than an hour.... The owners have been brilliant and really helpful and accommodating all throughout the booking to the stay and then afterwards to ensure everything was okay. All in all a fantastic place and would highly recommend to any groups of friends or families looking for a remote getaway....

We had a fabulous stay in Maesywerngoch. It’s a stunning house, Beautifully appointed with lots of space, well equipped kitchen, amazing gardens, extremely comfortable beds and very soft luxurious bedlinen. It’s right in the middle of the forest on the southern edge of Snowdonia with no other houses anywhere near. Very remote and nothing to hear but the birds and the bees. However Aberdovey is only a 30 minute drive away with south-west coastal path walks and amazing views of the estuary as well as perfect sandy beaches, great pubs and lots of ice cream shops! We loved our stay. I will definitely be coming back! I can’t wait.

This home and its gardens are incredible. Frankly it was a tough sell leaving for day trips and we've already started planning when we can come back! So much space in the home meant that both families (up to 3 families with children could fit comfortably) had privacy and we could spread out for different activities. The grounds and garden are magical and we spent most of our time playing with the children outside. Lovely walks to be had in the surrounding forest. This would be a perfect spot for family reunions, larger gatherings or a special occasion. Susan was incredibly helpful and prompt in her responses leading up to our stay.

This holiday gave our family the perfect home for the week. We were all able to sit around the table for a meal (all 13 of us), we all had comfortable beds and never had to wait for a bathroom. The aga kept Dad warm whilst the lounge kept the younger generation entertained with puzzles and card games and movies. The grounds were wonderful to explore. The journey up to the house was a little hair raising as the house is at the top of a forest but it was worth it. The house was clean and well cared for and we knew that if we had any problems we would be able to telephone and get help with ease. Wonderful place for a large family to have a holiday.

Well cared for spacious converted farmhouse half way up a mountain in Snowdonia, surrounded by beautiful views over the Dyfi Valley. Excellently placed for walking - Cadar Idris is not too far away (although we didn't make it there this time) & even without a car, you can leave the house in pretty much any direction and find somewhere lovely to walk, but it's also fairly close to Machynlleth and Aberdyfi. The kids particularly enjoyed exploring the garden & had loads of space to run around even when it was raining & we all loved watching the birds. The roads leading up to the house were a bit pot holey, so I wouldn't recommend taking a low slung car, but my little VW up was fine.

We had a wonderful weeks holiday. The property was perfect for the families with 7 kids aged between 7 and 12. The grounds were fantastic for the kids to explore in their own (there were well briefed on the water ways and how to stay safe). The house was beautifully maintained and Terry was fantastic, especially when we accidentally locked ourselves out! There are several great walks from the property and loads more within 20m drive. Also Tesco’s deliver there! Thanks for a fabulous stay!

Maesywerngoch is beyond magical. We have found the place we would love to return to again and again - we can’t wait for July. Utter paradise! We all adored the drive up to the house. Will and I literally felt the stress of the last few months melt away the minute we arrived. The house is beyond wonderful and we had so much space. Our eldest cheeky son adored the army tent which he built in the garden. The walks around the property were sublime. What more do you want beautiful mountains, lakes and the most spectacular beaches. Terry and Mary were absolute superstars babysitting. Above all we can’t wait to be back. Thank you.
