Arriving in a canoe today, paddling up river, the set up there is less than reasonable for anyone in anything other than a motorpowered boat. The lock is great for getting from one side to the other of the river Nene, but to have no portage get out on either bank side is ridiculous, as so many of the other locks do on this lovely river. Unfriendly signage and difficulty in getting through the obstacle doesn't make me want to return soon. Sorry but that's how I felt. There is a disused, lower to the water portage point, by the lock but the exit path from it is in disrepair and hence dangerous and so was closed to the public. The portage point was covered in weeds so hasnt been in service for a while. Shame really.

An amazing place to relax, the site is very well maintained by the membership which encourages pride in the facility everyone enjoys. I could not recommend it more.

Had a lovely afternoon as a guest of my partner's daughter and son-in-law. Very quiet as the lockdown hasn't yet been fully lifted. We sat on the pontoon drinking tea..watching birds and seeing the sun slowly set. They are novices so are still acquainting themselves with their boat. I should up the rating when we go on the river. The grounds are extremely well maintained.

Lovely location , welcoming and friendly members . Would totally recommend .
