Greater Cuillin Traverse, Skye, 19th - 21st June 2022 I am 82 and am doing all the munros for charity, and though I am an experienced mountaineer I recognised that the Cuillins require an extra level of skill and experience, and I had the pleasure of Dave Fowler as my guide. Dave was excellent in so many ways: his knowledge of the mountains, his professionalism and technical ability, the care he took of me, recognising my wishes and needs, and probably most important of all, his ability to inspire confidence. He provided me an unforgettable experience which will remain with me for the rest of my life.

A huge thanks to Ken for a fantastic private guided day out on the Crypt Route on Bidean nam Bian. With super lean conditions, the options were greatly reduced, however, Ken managed to plan an excellent day on a fantastic route high up on Church Door Buttress, which was just above the snowline. The longer approach was certainly worth the reward. The great aspect of guided trips for me is being able to push my climbing grade without being on the sharp end, which ultimately enables me to have more confidence when leading myself. This is my third trip with West Coast Mountain Guides and I would highly recommend them for their professional mountain adventure services and expert local knowledge for whatever level you're at.

My son, daughter and I had the most wonderful experience yesterday on Ben Ledi, guided by Cal. From the point of booking with Sonja through to the day itself the communication was friendly and professional. Cal was just brilliant and thanks to him we got to the top and have been left with the most amazing memories. He was attentive and always ready to help with hands on support or advise. He even taught us a bit about map reading. Living with Parkinson’s it means a lot to me that professionals like West Coast Mountain Guides are willing to help me attain challenges like this. People like you make it happen for people like me and I’m very grateful. Thank you for a truly amazing day.

We did the In-Pin with the help of our guide, Jack, who was fantastic. We were definitely not in shape to accomplish this and underestimated the effort, but Jack got us through and brought us up a really cool route that was much more enjoyable than the slog straight up to the top. Booking and arranging with the guide company was fairly easy and the website has lots of tips to be successful on whatever route you choose.

Really enjoyed our first time up Ben Nevis with James 😊 he was very knowledgeable about the area, helped us with equipment and our heavy loads, and was great company up and down the mountain. It was near white-out at the summit but the clouds parted and we got some spectacular views. Thanks James, we appreciate it! 😊

Ken immediately made us feel welcomed and we had a good chat on the walk in before gearing up for the ridge ascent. Both my son and I had a fantastic experience thanks to Ken's calm, expertise in leading us over the ridge and the descending via Ledge Ridge to round off a great day. Highly recommended!

When I asked for a guide to take me and my 17 year old son on a traverse of eight Munros on the Black Cuillin in a single day the guys at West Coast Mountain Guides were rightly sceptical. But after submitting our CVs we were taken on. What a magnificent day! Dave instantly gauged our strengths and abilities and was brilliant with the lad, whom I am convinced he's turned into a lifelong mountaineer. He quickly assessed what we were capable of doing and lead us on one of the most amazing days of our lives. We were both smiling all day, even at the end, after twelve hours. Thanks so much.

My friends and I have had two trips to Skye with West Coast Mountain Guides guiding us on the Cuillins. Both outings were excellent. The booking and organizing process was well organised, informative and seamless. Our guides were excellent, on our days with them we felt we were looked after by really skilled professionals. They were always good humored and very encouraging to some of us (me!) that needed it. Highly recommended will definitely book up with them again.
