We found this site by chance, and what a find it is the views are fantastic and the wildlife is abundant. Deer in the fields woodpeckers in the trees a lake with ducks geese etc. can’t praise this site enough. The owners are so friendly and helpful. Great facilities showers toilets kitchen area with kettle and tea coffee facilities with honesty box. Even a pool snooker table in the barn. All this for a VERY cheap site price. (Even has 16amp ehu). We will be regular visitors

First stay at this great site. Sheryl gave us such a warm welcome. She organised a fun morning for us all. There was a dog agility competition plus fun and games for everyone to take part in. The facilities are very good indeed. We will definitely be staying there again 😊😊

This is an absolutely fantastic site, it is so peaceful and quiet, and the owners have thought of everything. The pitches are really spacious, but there is also the option of pitching between the trees in the wooded area for those that want to. The showers and toilets were spotlessly clean, whatever time of day/night you used them, as were the kitchen facilities and the fridges that have so thoughtfully been provided. There was even a complimentary hairdryer with dressing table for guests to use, and mobile phone charging points! There is plenty to do in the area, we particularly enjoyed Hornsea with its individual shops and cafes. The area also has a fantastic choice of beaches. We will definitely return to this gem of a site, our dogs loved the designated doggy field, and also the doggy treats that the owner brought round most mornings! Thank you for such an enjoyable stay 😊

Absolutely fabulous. We were on pitch 1 as it was close to the facilities. Sheryl and Roy are such lovely people, with Roy giving the dogs sneaky treats and even came round to the caravan with much appreciated (by the dogs) pigs ears. The dogs loved the off lead dog exercise area, even our old lad got a gallop going!! Neither of the owners ever seemed to stop and kept the site clean and tidy. Only 2 showers which I guess would cause queues when the site is full, it wasn't whilst we were there. All the toilets and showers are kept spotless and loads of hot water, not push buttons either! I do recommend Whiteheads chippie, in Hornsea and also Maa indian takeaway. Looking forward to returning to Wood Lake next year! X

Perfect 5 star location. Quiet and away to make peacefull escapes. Food deliveries to site from various take aways... this is a bonus for those who just want to pitch up and not have to travel further. Excellent hosts and stayed 1 night.. perfection all round. Lovely clean facilities.

What an absolute gem of a camp site! Perfect location near the East coast of Yorkshire. Very peaceful, very picturesque, beautifully maintained with great facilities. Clean toilets, showers, washing up, kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, coffee & tea (honesty box), even a pool table & a duck lake. Wonderful

Just spent two fabulous weeks at Wood Lake Campsite. Sheryl and Roy go out of their way to make you welcome and do everything they can to make your stay perfect. Toilets and showers are kept clean and maintained regularly. Roy gets to know all the dogs individually (with sneaky treats for them), the lake and the woodland areas are simply beautiful and a gentle stroll around the site is uplifting and beautiful. It's just over two miles away from the stunning Mappleton beach and almost 10 minutes away from Hornsea. We didn't want to leave. The dogs were not happy to get in the car. If you have not yet visited this idyllic campsite, put it on your list of 'to do's', you won't be disappointed. Pam and Phil August 2023.
